Playing as an Infiltrator in ME2 svcks ass. The skills are good but the rifles hold so little ammunition.

I agree. All this pony crap makes it hard to navigate the forum.

I reported it earlier today, but to no avail, sadly. :(

Edit: oh, someone's changed it now. Must just be me, then... Anyway, thanks, whoever it was.

Weirdly, despite having two very complete playthroughs of ME2 under my belt (or so I thought...) I discovered an entire mission line involving the Blue Suns that I've never seen before! I got it from randomly scanning a planet and following from there. Wasn't mega interesting but I was just shocked I'd never come across it before...

Now you've mentioned it, I have to wonder how many bits and pieces must have passed me by! I'd like to think I was pretty thorough with the planet scanning (hours of entertainment! :dead:) but I'm almost certain to have missed some stuff.

I almost never scan planets. When EDI says there is an anomaly it means there is a mission. Otherwise, the planet is just for resources which I don't need since I always import Rich characters.

Also just as my finger was hovering over the Buy Now button for Mass Effect: Deception on Amazon, I read https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XBpMF3ONlI308D9IGG8KICBHfWKU0sXh0ntukv-_cmo/preview?pli=1&sle=true.

Don't think I'll be buying it now...

It does really show how someone who doesn't really know the series inside out shouldn't be writing 'canon' books...

I think I found a couple of missions without being given advance notice by EDI, though that may be my memory playing tricks on me. Wouldn't be the first time it's happened...

I've heard some bad things about Deception already (I'll read through the list in a moment!) It does make you wonder why they employ writers who aren't familiar with the story. Sometimes I think people get a bit too tangled up in their interpretation of the lore, but there are times when writers get so cavalier about it that it's rather hard to ignore. I suppose space magic made him do it.

Yep. I think my favourite ones are the issues with Quarian culture. A quick trip to the damn Wiki could have shown how many errors there was with that...

If there is a anomaly on a planet, EDI will warn you.

But you have to go into the planet screen in the first place. Which is where I missed out in the past...

Quick question about galactic readiness in 3... I heard that your readiness decreases by a certain percentage for each day you don't 'keep it up'. Is this correct? I'm just about to start a fresh ME3 play through and wondered if my readiness will be the same as when I played with my previous playthrough? I've been using the Datapad app to keep readiness at 70% and just wonder now whether it's been a waste of time?

I'm having seconds thoughts once again about the Genophage. Now I start to think that curing it will be a very, very bad mistake. Saved Wrex on Virmire so I will go with it, but I still think it's a horrible idea.

Spoiler
If you saved Maelon's data in ME2 the female will survive, and together with Wrex they unite the Krgoan into a more peaceful, or atleast less revenge-bent society. Not sure what happens with Wrex if she doesn't survive. With Wreav it's a bad idea regardless.

I will preserve Maelon's Data this time. Wrex will most likely present demands to the Council to lift the DMZ and return Krogan some of their pre-war planets. I have full confidence in Wrex but he's old and I'm concerned about his successors. If the Krogan one day became a full Council species it would be great but I fear the would become like the Batarians - a recurring menace that controls much of the galaxy only kill and enslave others. Luckily the Hegemony is wiped out and the Batarians essentially die out in ME3, though.

Grrrhh, I should have just wasted Wrex, put Grunt through the Airlock (or sell him to Cerberus - whatever) and get Mordin to the Crucible. Oh well, too late now. Unless I can edit the save to kill Wrex. I haven't been to Tuchanka yet, so that's an option.

EDIT: Gibbed's editor with this user expansion I found allows me to tick "Wrex killed by Player or Ashley". I will try it. If it does not work I go with the cure. If not, then I will destroy Maelon's data and sabotage the cure. Will feel so much better.

I scanned every. single. planet. I was ready to put my head through a wall by the time it was over, but I can say I didn't miss anything. I'm already dreading playing through ME 2 again at some later point so I can have a femshep of my own....

On another note, while at a friends earlier yesterday.

-Watch him talking to Ashley for the 2nd time in hospital.

-Hear his sister's music in the background.

-Realizes it's "Ashley" by Escape the Fate.

-wonders why hasn't seen amv w/ combination.

-Gibb-smacks self for looking on youtube.

Just have to say, it's so interesting seeing such completely different viewpoints on the storyline.
(Personally, I have a hard time not playing full-bore Paragon. Kind of like how I've never managed most of the "bad" questlines or choices in Beth games, too. Probably part of the reason I was so disappointed by the ME3 end..... none of the choices were terribly Paragon. To me, at least.)

-----

So after playing an MP game last night with a guy who had a 2000+ N7 rating, I was inspired to check the leaderboards. Top dude has a rating over 5000. That's several orders of magnitude beyond insane.

That's either one of the pending mod cases I heard about, or they bought most of that via physical purchasing and receiving multiple character cards. So either he's a [censored] loser, or hes a bigger no-life than me, who is only N7 - 672.

Indeed, if one thing I love ME for it's how it's so polarizing when it comes to decisions :D
I personally can't play as a Paragon. Letting emotion override logic is something I'd never do. Being in charge for Galactic peace means you can't be nice to everyone. I mostly share Mordin's morality, sometimes the best way to help people is to shoot them. Sacrifices must be made for the greater good.

I never respected people who spend most of their lives just playing games. To have such a score in such a short time means you don't do much else in your day than play ME3 multiplayer, which surely should get a bit dull in the long run. Pros are pros and I respect someone who is better than me but one really should have something to do in life than shoot virtual monsters. Me, my N7 is just 72.

That and renegade is much more fun than paragon. Loads more explosions and punching and killing of innocents.

Has anyone used Gibbed save editor for ME3? I'm at work at the moment so can't faff about with it but someone on the Bioware sticky for it said you can change your war assets using it? Anyone got experience of this?

Haven't tried it myself but no doubt you can change the assets. And even if Gibbed's can't do it there will be a 3rd party program to do so.
