Most Memorable Villain

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 9:46 am

Megatron from the "Beast Wars" Transformers series.

Villain, but with his own sense of honor and respect for his arch rival. Definitely out to accomplish his own ends, but had his own "code" that he wouldn't violate, and wouldn't stoop to a sniveling or scheming level. A villain you can respect.

There was that "Devil" guy in that one book. He seemed pretty bad.
Alduin. He was incredibly fleshed out and his surprise revealing of himself at the end of the game was a shocker for Skyrim.
Not sure if serious or trolling.

First thing that came to my mind when I read the thread title was Frank Booth from Blue Velvet. He left a strong impression. *shivers*

Is "stupid" a villain? If so, I'm going with that.

Is "stupid" memorable? I usually try to forget it...

Seymour from Final Fantasy X. Everytime you think he is gone, blam! Goddammit again?! Summoning Aeons...overdrive initiated.

Sauron from Lord of the Rings. He literally WAS the archetype for thousands of fantasy mediums.

I truly hated Frieza from Dragonball Z. Dodonpa(?) was also a [censored] from Dragonball.

Jagang the Dreamwalker from The Sword of Truth series. THE BOOKS NOT THE DAMNED SHOW!!!

Lord Vetinari, if you can count him as a villain, closely followed by GLaDOS.

I personally wouldn't call Vetinari a villain. The only people he has killed are the ones who need to be killed for his city to run smoothly.

Heath ledger as the Joker, Javier Bardem as Anton Chigurh, Chiwetel Ejiofor as The Operative, Richard Brooks as Jubal Early, Cliff Simon as Ba'al, Juliet Landau as Drusilla, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Christoph Waltz as Col. Hans Landa, Christopher Lee as Saruman and many others that I can't remember at this time.

For books I would say Flagg, Thrawn, Deacon Vorbis and some others that I can't really remember right now.

Luca Blight.

You need 18 characters to take him down. With the proper preparations, you could bring him down in the first group of that 18, or the second, or both. But only the third can defeat him. He is fast and all his attacks can nearly 1-hit everyone. He can take up to 3 turns in 1 one round. And has a skill where he empowers his sword with fire and does around 200dmg to a single character, or an entire row of characters, leaping back to do it 2 more times if the AI wishes..

Even after you have defeated him, he challenges the main character to a dual..

Gabriel Celeste, The Ethereal Queen, Indalecia, as far as I know are the only bosses that are more menacing them him, and the first 2 are optional.

It's been 13 years since that very first day I fought this guy..which took many tries, with the winning attempt a 30 minute long battle.. 13 years later and 100+ bosses downed, I still have not had that rush that I've had when fighting him..

You have not seen a terrible villain til you met him.

On a more serious note...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmeM4N2eHhY. Season 2 was largely amazing, no small part due to Megatron's megalomania.

First person who came to mind was Lord Humungus. Man could that guy give a speech. Also Thulsa Doom. I've chaffed for years of that demigod.

Magneto from the X-men. Mabye not the best villian but at least I can see his points and I can understand why he wants to wipeout humanity. It's not just because he's evil.

Cruella Devil, or the nasty Rotty from Marmaduke.

Seriously, Dr. Evil, Dr. Breen or The Joker from the Dark Knight. From those threee most definitely The Joker.

Darth Vader, I just think he was well made, in the original movies before he turned into a freakin' crybaby.
The Joker, in any series of batman, I just love the craziness.
Megamind, he was absolutely amazing.
Gru, from despicable me.
Shan Yu, from the Disney movie Mulan, was one of the best villains when I was a kid.

I wouldn't call him a villain, but the Jackal from Far Cry 2 was a very interesting character.
As for movie villians, Anton Chigurh played by Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men, is a definite favorite.
The last book I read however, was the Bible, so I'm just gonna say God.

Keyser Soze from the Usual Suspects.
I was actually thinking of putting that down last night, but I didnt think anyone would get it

Edit: Commrade, I wouldn't really list a Big Daddy as a vilian, as they're not really evil at all, they just protect their Little Sisters at all costs.
