SHODAN from the System Shock series (though admittedly I have never finished the first game).

First person who came to mind was Lord Humungus. Man could that guy give a speech.

Ya I still love imitating him at times growling to myself "Just walk away...JUST..WALK...AWAY". *lol think that's the right guy*

Another memorable villain for me is the mummy in "The Mummy".

He was not a villain, he just wanted to love... ;_;

And conquer the world.

Tony Redwood.

His appearance alone makes him a hard one to forget. Could tell something was up the moment you met him.

Anywho, just a few from games:

First person who came to mind was Lord Humungus. Man could that guy give a speech. Also Thulsa Doom. I've chaffed for years of that demigod.

First thing to pop into my head was Ceaser, because while I consider him the savior of everything ever, most people find him to be a disagreeable fellow. Oh, and Lanius.

Books? Tyler Durden.

Movies? Jack Nicholson as The Joker.

TV? Uhm, I remember a few years back there was this HBO version of The Wizard of Oz called 'Tin Man', and it's antagonist was pretty memorable.

Randall Flagg.

For videogames, Charnel and Stratos, from Sacrifice. Stratos is a backstabbing "I am better and smarter than any of you" god, voiced by none other than Tim Currey. And with Charnel, he's the god of slaughter, strife, pain, misery, and so on, http://youtu.be/b1AFOkCcW6U?t=1m51s http://youtu.be/b1AFOkCcW6U?t=4m49s Though, I will say the Wind Waker Gannondorf was the best iteration of Gannondorf, because he had a reason to why he was evil, not because he was evil for evil's sake.

With books, Melkor, from the Silmarillion. Then again, I don't read too much.

TV, get back to me on that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2JrWJfdoqk is a great villain, because as you watch the series (Wakfu, by the way. Its a French show, and its pretty cool. I highly recommend it), you come to sympathize with his character. Also, his manner of speech is so spot on for the character. His laugh is my favorite villain laugh I've seen. It really conveys his insanity.

Indeed. One of the what.. six people (not sure) who played his role died?

I wasn't utterly shocked by it, but it was a little depressing. Still, he isn't much of a villain. Can't even fly a Tie-Fighter better then a teenager.

For the record. Vader did not pilot a T.I.E. fighter. He piloted a T.I.E. Advanced x1 Prototype. Which was supposed to replace the standard T.I.E. fighter but never made it to production.

I dunno, I find Vader terrifying I mean, he can choke you without touching you.

But then I also found Baphomet or Icon of Sin from DOOM frightening.
