Most ridiculous outfit in Skyrim?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 7:14 am

It's not my business, either. Though it does make it difficult to sort through all that crap to find those rare gems of decent armor on the Nexus.
True. Every time I see a female armor mod I'm hopeful for something new to wear, only to find it's just another stripper outfit.

Not to mention the skimpier male armour mod... What the heck is that about?

I don't even want to know. Then again when browsing the Nexus I end up saying "oh god, why" a lot.

It's the vanilla armours, with the groin, butt and abdominal cut out so you can see what would be underneath.

Some people appreciate the female body. Some people appreciate the male body.

Which is fine, but where the outfit is skimpier doesn't make sense. You're exposing major veins and weak spots. Male dong whipping about doesn't weird me out. But that mod would ruin any realism Skyrim affects.

Breaking News
By all accounts, the most popular Steel Girdle of Chastity (enchanted, what else?) is completely sold out throughout Skyrim and the neighboring Cyrodiil

If you do the Dark Brotherhood questline, you'll see a spare jester outfit sitting around at a certain point in the game.

The outfits look fine but they are not logically correct. Since Skyrim is a cold place, and there is no option to wear shirts under armour as there was in Morrowind, and since the greaves and cuirass are also glued together like Fallout 3, I think the armors are exposing too much of the body. For example the fur and leather armors look OK around the neck but the arms and sides of the torso are exposed and this combined with the cold weather looks a bit absurd. And the general look of characters with very tight lower torso and wide shoulders look a bit too cartoonish.

So. Awesome. Words. Cannot. Describe. Thank you!

Inappropriately sixed-up footwear is a personal annoyance for me. E'Lara? They gave her high-heeled boots. Catwoman in the upcoming Batman movie? Christopher "Mr. Realism" Nolan gave her high-heeled boots. It's always six-boots. The 'Boots of Swiftness' cracked me up.

Speaking as a swordfighter and martial artist, it's annoying.

What's annoying for the one is fascinating for the other.
However that be, in both cases we deal with people that are obsessed with trivial appearances, totally ignoring the real McCoy - the face in front...

Keep your Batman: Arkham City out of my Skyrim.

But seriously, it's way too odd for Skyrim.
It's like Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood outfit, citizens would just gawk at you in the streets.
This is superficially bad for any thief of worth, so less attention is always better.

With that thought I've got to wonder if Nocturnal has a returns policy..

One could make a point that for a very stealthy character, which Nightingale armor wearers usually are, the cape could be very useful for destroying your shape while doing nija stuff in the shadows.

I have had only one very stealthy character, my fourth one, he is evil and a lot of fun. My first evil character ever.

I think the glass looks pretty badass, personally. I really like how the light reflects off of it, especially torch light. It's supposed to look weird, it is meant to be fantasy armor.

Yeah, I tried swordfighting in heels once. I'm just glad I wasn't doing it for reals.

The regular clothes... is it just me, or does it make the women look extremely broad-shouldered? Oh and DON'T wear the Nightingale Armor as a Khajiit, the tail goes through the blasted cape... I kinda dig the Forsworn Armor, the whole savage-vibe just does it for me, though I never quite understood how my breton could keep warm, wearing such a skimpy outfit...

Magic. they also say in the game that the khajiit find it cold because they are use to the warm sands of Elsweyer. But I mean fur right. I think Argonians would have the most trouble with the cold snow but no. My khajiit is level 50 wearing common clothes because i cant find any cool armor.

Scaled Armor svcks. No seriously, I once made a batch of epic scaled armor but I only put it on once because the bulging belly piece makes my character look like he has a beer gut.

I kept the boots and bracers, though. They've served me well.

From the first, I've wondered that the light armor is so... well... LIGHT, bare arms and legs, often bare shoulders and back, not even a cape to keep out the cold... BRRRRRR! The average temperature in Skyrim is probably r-e-a-l-l-y cold, yet no one seems to need layers and layers of clothing. I actually love the cold, but I'd never run around like Jamaica in July, no matter how cold-loving I am.

I see some mentioned Cicero's outfit...well it IS a Jester's garb so looking ridiculous is the whole point. It is most definitely not out of place considering the fantasy/medieval landscape. To me, a ridiculous outfit is the dwarven armor set. It looks more like ceremonial armor than something you would wear in battle.
