Most ridiculous outfit in Skyrim?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 3:51 pm

Oh god how could i forget that... Yes... That is the most ridiculous thing in Skyrim... I cant put it on without getting the Power Rangers theme stuck in my head...
I love the Ebony helmet.

Of course, now that you mention it... I wish the game had a Power/Morphing coin! I love that show!

There are fur armours that are bare-chested, so I don't understand why Bethesda couldn't have done it for the Forsworn, if they did intend for them to be primitive.
I meant more from a lore perspective. Tribal communities that display their fitness/virility/fertility via physical appearance pretty much almost always have a tit (hah) for tat philosophy. Men would show off their powerful thighs, chest and arms; and women, their briasts, waist and thighs. This isn't so with the Forsworn males. All that the armour prominently displays is their arms. It doesn't make sense.

There are forsworn that don't wear shirts, they're briarhearts. They happen to be the strongest forsworn, which would give credence to the whole tribal dominance theory.

Sheldon! I didn't know you liked Beth games!

What do you mean 'Beth's games'? What happened to your games with me in the Cheesecake Factory, Leonard?

Really?
I also had an 'oh no' moment when I saw those robes, because I knew Id never get to wear one.
I think they look great.
Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.
The second best looking set of robes I think is the one priests wear, like the one from the temple of Kynareth.

As for silly, I suppose the female Forsworn armour is a bit skimpy and unprotective.

Different strokes for different folks, indeed. I'd prefer the archmage robes over those psijic robes.
But then again I'm not much into really clean cut robes in a gritty, blizzardous enviroment like Skyrim.

Just seem like they'd get ruined easily, you know?

From everything I've seen in the game, I find Dark Brotherhood robes the worst looking clothing in the game ><

the cowl was an improvement from oblivion, but the main part of the armor definitely looks stupid with all that red and all those stupid metal things everywhere

edit: sorry, i noticed you said "robes" and not "armor" after i replied

The ones that i think look bad are the DB jester robes Festus & Gabriella use. As soon as possible I got a mod to make them like the black hand robes from Oblivion. There is also that ebony helmet that looks like it came from the Power Rangers cartoon.

OMG -lol- ELVIS!

I switched that mesh in a hurry to the default mage college robes which I colored black -lol-

I feel like I stepped into bizaaro land. Normally I'm the one to point out overly male-gaze six-fantasy garbage, but I like the female forsworn outfit. It just seems like a natural tribal covering for me. I switch it out with fur armor, depending on climate. As an archer I don't want *armor* armor. If you want a truly awful six-fantasy sludge oufit, play E'lara in The Hunted (fun game, tho).

I also imagine most women in skyrim would be extremely flat chested, since the wealthy where the only ones that wouldn't be extremely underweight. No implants back then boys...

But hey, flat chested women don't sell games...

...to males. It'd be nice if female players had the option of having toons with chests not seemingly-filled with plastic :sadvaultboy: .

A lot of the common clothing NPCs wear, because the textures look like they're 64x64 res.

Of all the things to cut down on detail, they pick clothing, and that's ridiculous.

This. A thousand times this. The blue and green dresses (you know the ones) are the only ones even remotely res'd properly.

I dislike the Glass Set.

Looks way too...fantasyish xD?

I agree. Way too over-the-wall FF-ish...

Also, people keep saying how bad Cicero's outfit is. On my character, it actually looks really good, and bears little resemblance to the way it looks on Cicero, or any male character for that matter. Give it a try and see what you think.

Would have been great if each type of armor(daedric, ebony, glass, etc) had at least 2 different styles of looks.

Where I live, I've not found any women IRL with flatter chests than the characters in Skyrim.

That's what i was getting at. If you want to accommodate for the female parts, you don't do it like the Steel Plate, Wolf Armor and Ebony Armor does, but likehttp://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:SR-item-Dwarven_Armor_Female.jpg does. But like i said, i'm not complaining :hubbahubba:

You might not be, but I kinda am. It has way too much definition for my tastes and sensibilities. At the same time, I feel like dwarven goes too far the other direction, removing all semblence of femininity. So it doesn't rank very high on my list, either.

I like the scaled armor. The neck might be a little low on it, but overall it does provide good coverage. The briasts aren't too well defined, but I can tell she still has them. And then, between the pauldrons, the fur skirt and the close fitting scaled torso, I find it accentuates the her figure rather well.

All the fur bikinis. Then again judging by the Nexus, they're not skimpy enough for some people.

Imo- If your going to add [censored] to armour- Might as well make them big or not do it at all. I like how steel and dwarven does things and dislike how some armours decide to morph to briast mode every time some female equips things (similarly, i dislike how men can't wear dresses). Anyways

Glass is horrid, It's not even glass!
Most helmets look horrid
Daedric Pauldrons
Ebony pauldrons
Batman
Most things with their horrid textures
Dwarven (especialy the helmets)

Uh....ok? Is this the part where I apologize for the game not meeting your standards for female beauty?

That's such a subjective, loaded, bizarre comment that I don't even know where to start. So I won't bother.

To be fair though Dunmer weren't known for their armor skills. They hollowed out bugs and dwemer constructs then said Good Enough!

It is, kind of. Don't understand why women have a left briast-sling, but whatever. Point is, the males aren't treated the same way.

It'd be nice if female players had the option of having toons with chests not seemingly-filled with plastic :sadvaultboy: .

I'm modding the textures of the Forsworn outfits right now. I wish I had the patience to learn how to change the body mesh. I dislike those briasts.

A lot of the common clothing NPCs wear, because the textures look like they're 64x64 res.

Of all the things to cut down on detail, they pick clothing, and that's ridiculous.

Yeah, these need and have had mod work done. There needs to be more variety in these, too.

Would have been great if each type of armor(daedric, ebony, glass, etc) had at least 2 different styles of looks.

Wait for the CK. I'm currently doing multiple Forsworn outfits based on the originals and on fur armours. :D When I know how to, I'll put them into a bundle that randomises the outfits for Forsworn enemies.

I vote for falmer armor looks bad on anything that isnt horribly disfigured like they are.

LOL.

All the fur bikinis. Then again judging by the Nexus, they're not skimpy enough for some people.

Not to mention the skimpier male armour mod... What the heck is that about?

Most ridculous. Definitely Dragonbone with literally some dog-bones hanging at the back for no discernable function.

On the subject of the Forsworn... must be a fetish of someone high up at Bethesda. We get them in every game since FO3 as tribals/bandits.

- I have to disagree on the Dwarven. It looks like the God Emperor's powerarmor from warhammer 40k, which is the definition of awesome.

I appreciate it tastefully attired, especially when I'm supposed to pretend it's armor.

But it's no business of mine if people use the game as [censored] material.

It's not my business, either. Though it does make it difficult to sort through all that crap to find those rare gems of decent armor on the Nexus.
