The two highest powered offences just got canned.

I must point out that come playoff time, having a good offence doesn't mean much if your defence svcks, well, so far, unless you're the Patriots.

What a great NFC weekend of upsets though.

I gotta say, most of this playoff season has been upsets.

That's because the Packers, high powered offense got brought down by their inability to catch a ball. Their defense played better. I expected crap out of the defense, not so much out of the offense. Maybe they should hold their paychecks until they learn how to play football again. If you're not doing your job you shouldn't be getting paid.

On the contrary, if your team makes it to the playoffs they get a "play-off" bonus. So they kind of aren't being paid anymore after this game while the four remaining teams are. :P

Look at the bright side... wait, I hate the Giants more than the Packers.... There is no bright side.

Well I suppose that works, but I was talking more about next year. I'm just being bitter though, I'm not that big of a football fan so I don't know why this game upset me as much as it did haha. Probably because of the way they played all season, if you're going to play that way..you keep playing that way..you don't revert.

Well I've gotten a pretty good view from all of my family and friends that are hardcoe Packers fans and they are more pissed about this loss than any other sporting event I can remember. I agree, the expectation based solely on how the Packers performed during the season was that they would come into the playoffs and go all the way. Why wouldn't they? I honestly felt when the game was entering the 4th quarter that the Packers were going to win, that there offense would just start to click like it had been all season and it just didn't. Seeing that confused me. I don't understand how a team of the magnitude that the Packers are lost at home to the Giants. If it leaves that impression on me (somebody who is extremely biased against the Packers) than it can only mean that the Packer fans must be really pissed off. It's got to almost feel like the Patriots in the Superbowl against the Giants, though I'm too far removed from any fans of the Patriots to affirm this belief.

Well to be fair the Patriots haven't played a real NFL playoff team yet this year. We'll see what happens when the Ravens come to town.

EDIT: I picked the Giants to win in a very informal pool. The Packers were not playing well to end the season and their best players hadn't played a meaningful game in 3 week.s while the Giants were rollin'.

You're next Green Bay! Good luck stopping that defensive front four!

You're next San Francisco! Next week is going to be fantastic. Extremely tough games. I'm predicting a NY / NE Superbowl.

The Broncos beat the Steelers. Good enough win for me.

That was a great win though. So gratifying after 3 years of failure.

Patriots have no chance against my Ravens. 3 for 4 on the weekend is pretty good prediction wise, disappointed that Denver came up flat against NE but the Defense was terrible no pressure on Brady at all. That will be different next week when they face and lose to my Ravens but Flacco has to play better. Even more impressive for the Ravens when they played Houston, they didn't commit a single penalty, that is unheard of and ridiculous.

The Ravens would be great if they had a good QB. Flacco is Mark Sanchez bad.

I just now hope that Denver realizes that Tebow is not a Quarterback for this league and the Option Offense only works in college, sometimes. Unfortunately, we will probably have to spend another season proving to ourselves that he is not a quarterback for the NFL.

I didn't think Flacco is that bad. At least they got Ray Rice :D Pats/Ravens game is gonna be a fun one to watch.

Thank you.

I think he is cool, classy and a good role model for younger generation fans and he isn't totally bad, it is just that I hated how people were drolling all over him like he is the god of football.

Time will tell...

I have no idea who is going to super bowl.. and that says something since I'm usually spot on when it happens ><.

Well, LOL, Packers were hit by the 15-1 curse.

Flacco makes Sanchez look like a joke in comparasion and Sanchez has more weapons on offense (Besides the run game), not to mention he lost to Tebow. I do agree that Flacco can come up lame sometimes so we'll see if he can finally get over the hump.

Being unique isn't bad, makes you hard to prepare for and I think with a full offseason and some draft help particularly with Tight End and the Secondary I think Denver can improve a bit. Although it doesn't help that Tebow plays under a coach that uses a slow system which is the opposite of what Tim is skilled at, he's more of a fast tempo type of player.

What I don't get about football is..why the hell do they keep on using the same play system when we see that it doesn't work a majority of the time. Take the Packer's defense. What was needed was close knit man on man action for the recievers, because it seemed like the backs weren't ever close enough to the ball. Yet they kept on doing the same thing nearly every pass play...how does that happen?? Was it the Defense not putting in enough effort? Bad defensive play calling? Just frustrating when you're seeing it on TV and it seems like they can't see it at all, makes me wanna drive up to Green Bay and tell them to get their heads in the game and stop doing stupid things.

I could be wrong though, like I said I'm not that big of a football fan and I don't know the ins and outs.

It could be that Green Bay's defensive is not nearly as cohesive or well-trained in man on man defense, but I doubt that. Probably bad play calling on the part of the receivers. Also perhaps that the long break the actual defensive starters had left them one step slower or something. No one could tell you but the Green Bay coaches and players themselves.

I hate that too though, when the teams keep repeating mistakes and you can clearly see what's going wrong but the team themselves don't try and fix it.

Two weeks off since Rodgers and a lot of their best players didn't play week 17.

I don't know man, Ravens offense was stagnant that game. The score did not reflect their performance. Yates committed too many rookie mistakes and was obviously in over his head and the turnovers let the Ravens score without needing to drive down the field.

NE beat up a team that was totally outclassed and who only advanced to that round because Pittsburgh was beat up, so we can't use their performance as a gauge, but looking at Baltimore's performance I have to give the advantage to Brady and the Patriots.

All I know is two things: They're serving a new cheese in Green Bay - blue cheese. And you can't spell elite without Eli.

(and the refs in that Giants - Packers game svcked bad. You won't be seeing them in the Super Bowl. The newspapers, Sportscenter and the NFL network were not kind to them today. Let's see, a fumble that was miscalled even after a replay, a missed roughing-the-passer on Eli that was replayed on TV it was so obvious, a bad roughing-the-passer on Umenyiora, and a first down run that was marked a yard behind where it should have been marked. Luckily none of it affected the outcome of the game.)

Denver's loss was not Tebow's fault. The kid was pressured nonstop. Nobody can perform under that pressure. His O-line had an abysmal performance.

So far I am 4-0 on the Saturday games and 0-4 on the Sunday games. :(

For the AFC, I'll take my Patriots. They're at home, and have won two of three from the Ravens. Tom Brady and the team were fired up to crush the Broncos; I'm sure they will take the same approach to the Ravens. Respect for the Ravens defense, but they haven't faced a team like the Patriots. Also like the way the Patriots defense is playing, with Ninkovich becoming a real playmaker. Patriots, 27-24.

For the NFC, I will take the 49ers. Tough to bet against the G-Men, but home teams have won just about every game in the playoffs, and the 49ers take care of the ball better than Big Blue. It will be close, 49ers, 23-21.

G-Men seem to thrive on away games though.

The 49ers in my opinion are a better team than the Packers, so it will be a tough game. I don't expect the spread to change much throughout the week.
