Online in the next The Elder Scrolls game is inevitable

If multiplayer, how could a single world saving objective in a new multiplayer TES be handled?

In Morrowind we had THE player saving the world from the Dagoths and the Daedra. In Oblivion we had THE player saving Cyrodiil from oblivion.

In Skyrim we have a a single player as THE Dragonborn.

What would a multiplayer Skyrim look like? Dovahkiins running around all over the place? Get real!

TES is all about the heroic single player. There can be only one hero in the TES series.

Making a future TES with heroes all trying to save the world with one single objective to solve has to be the dumbest, stupidest, trollest idea I have ever heard of. Want multiplayer? Go play one of those games and leave TES alone.

Oh god no. I play single player games to get away from people. TES is MY world and I want it to stay that way.

What's this next game you speak of?

Skyrim gets multiplayer!

Just wait about 8 months for proper polish.

It's simple.

Why isn't Borderland's world as complex as Skyrim's world?

Think it over.

I think Bethesda should do what RDR did. The online mode was really popular and fun to most people.

In other words, Bethesda should create their epic single player games as always, but add some special multiplayer modes like "defend the keep" or "free roam" or whatever they are called. I think that would work well. RDR is proof of that it can work well, if done well.

A possible multiplayer should only be a small part though of their focus, I think. Bethesda are best at making single player games and they should focus on what they're best on.

However Bethesda should clearly do some hugely better technical job. A multiplayer would NOT work if we have 25 FPS in towns all the time.

Why is NWN more complex than the two combined? ;)

No need to be extremist philosophy applied to a single playergame will never be the same as a game pultiplayer. Quests are different, everything is different.

Elder Scrolls MP is a good idea, as long as people play what they like MP games.
No one is forced to concent with others, it's just an idea later, and only this

The game gets "very boring" to you. Do you understand that just because you find it so, that doesn't mean it's true for anyone else? You are speaking for yourself; this is your personal opinion, not a "fact".

You do not "finish" this game. There is no "ending". You did not "complete" this single player game. You, personally feel you've finished it. Good for you. That's not a universal opinion and it's not how the game is even designed. The story does not 'end' after you finish any quest at all. And to you, personally, you have "nothing to show or do".

And lastly, it is absolutely not true in the slightest that "nothing has changed" in this series of games other than a new storyline. I really don't think your opinions carry much weight when you confuse your playstyle with the way things should be, and you cannot see the differences in each and every installment of the ES series

The games finished when you end up doing repetitive things. Im not the only one who says its boring i have friends who have played the game enough to realize nothing new is haopening all thats going on is: get quest, go duengon, kill boss or target, back to quest giver, get petty reward and repeat.

Ive also seen way too many posts that talk about bordem because those ppl have finished the main story line and the sub story lines that arent repeats of the same stuff over and over.

As for what could be changed in future games to impliment the element of multiplayer; quests that have to end up by killing a certian npc have to be changed so that after the npc is disposed of the player who finished the quest cannot the that certian noc and only others can see it.

Also think of the things you could do if multiayer was in a future TES game or this in the future. You could make your own type of guild take over territories, hunt others down, control citys or forts and stuff against others, and much more.
A bounty system could be implimented so you can bounty others to be killed by certian ppl. The possiblites are endless in a great open world like this.

There are already many hundreds of MP games. TES doesn't need it. Go play one of those. TES is all about single PRIVATE play with NO-ONE organising you to play their way. TES fans play TES our way because we don't want all that co-op crap. I am the hero in my TES game and no-one else is allowed that privilege. I do not need other people ruining my game.

[Oh and besides. My internet is so slow that no MP games can work at all. But that's another subject.]

Would be a huge mistake and the death of the series if they went that route. The Strength of the series is it's single player nature and the ability to do what you want when you want, how can that be accomplished when you have 14 year old trolls screaming TBAG!!!!!!!!!!!!! when your playing the game. Trust me the series is better off as a single player.

Also it shouldnt force ppl to multiplayer there should be a single mode for people who hate to play with others so that way everyone is happy.

Thinking of Bethesda running hundreds, or even a few thousand servers to allow players from around the world to play together - they would have to hire IT people that know their stuff. Not going to happen.

Dragons would fly backwards for decades.

I won't buy it if it's multiplayer or co-op it's that simple, and in my opinion it would be a huge mistake if they did.

Idk bout you guys but it gets pretty freaking boring when you end up doing the same thing for the bazillionth time i mean think about it it dosent matter how many hours you can get from this game they wont be any different from the first 100 youve gotten.

I think they are taking very immaturely.
Under no prospect Skyrim longer a game for one player. It's just a different theme applied, not the game is killing people also want to venture into MP mode.
Nobody forces anyone to want to do things, do not be stupid.

I think Bethesda should at best , make a coop mode (no server , 2 human players maximum , you join with your friend's IP address directly on his comp ) to have one friend join your game and wander the world with you

If they do more than that , time and money will be wasted and less attention will be given to the single player experience which is of the utmost importance in a TES game IMO

I still play Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Ultima 6 &7. Open games like these are not boring.

You just don't get it if you find Skyrim boring. Go play something else and don't try to destroy a game series that most of us love. TES is about role-play. If you are incapable of RP then go play a shooter. You do not have to enter every dungeon. Start a new character with a different skill set or character type. If you've been a Nord, play as an Argonian. You lack imagination if you find this game boring.
