The guy i talked to was Dirk, the other one I talked to was Stefan.

This is getting so frustrating...

In my case, the guy's name was Florian. But more important, I tried it out and it actually worked! Just go on http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/ , create a new account with Great Britain as your country of origin, log onto Xbox-Live using that account and go to the market place. There you can buy "Dawnguard (English)". Just try it out yourself, all I can say is that for me, it worked out fine.
Same contactpartner as i had :)
Was quite an enoyable talk

I think I found a (legal!) way how to download the english version of Dawnguard in Germany.

1. Just to make sure, you should save your savegames on an external drive in advance.
2. Get a new Xbox-Live-Account where you state "Great Britain" as your country of origin.
3. Sign onto the Xbox market place using your new UK-account.
4. Charge your UK-account with 1600 MS points using a voucher (you can use the ones sold in Germany).
5. Delete the German version of Dawnguard from your harddisk and buy the English version using your UK account.
6. Change back to your German account and load the last savegame you used before installing the German version of Dawnguard.

For me, this worked out perfectly. The only thing I regret is that I wasted around 20 € for the German version of Dawnguard in the first place.

If u did this using the marketplace on the computer i call [censored] lol... is till get tracked and the (Deutsch) version appears... at least for me it does :(

You mean you are logged onto Xbox-Live with an English account, you click on "Dawnguard (English)" at the market place and you get re-directed to the German version? I used my Xbox to purchase Dawnguard and I didn't experience any of these problems.

Writing from Italy: I got the LIMITED EDITION Skyrim (the one with the Alduin Wall and the Dragon), that was ONLY in english (I BOUGHT IT IN ITALY, BUT IT IS FULL ENG).
I downloaded Dawnguard in day one, it was ONLY in ITALIAN, I would have LOVED to get the english version but it simply wasn't there at the time on italian marketplace. Dawnguard plays IN ITALIAN but it is DUBBED IN ENGLISH. It is heavily bugged obviously, with the nvde NPC problem. Now, NO PATCH IS BEING DOWNLOADED because the Skyrim game is english version. What is ridicolous is that TODAY THERE IS AN ENGLISH DAWNGUARD VERSION ON ITALIAN MARKETPLACE that wasn't there before, but I'd HAVE TO PAY AGAIN TO DOWNLOAD IT!!!!!! THIS IS ABSURD!!!!! Is there any call center/phone number/email adress where I can ask for my MS points back to download the english version of Dawnguard? Never seen anything so upsetting in more than 20 years of gaming!

I'm sorry to hear you've been TROLLED by ^^ Beth and MS just as we all have been. But a refund is impossible ^^. They state already underneath the download descrpition of the Skyrim DLC the follow "No refund".

:S either we wait for them to bring it up ^^ in english for free for those who have paid already for it, or we buy it again with an english account. Although for me ^^ it did not work wit hthe english account. :S strange tough.

I just read this entire thread & wow, I got quite an education that I didn't expect. I didn't know about German censorship laws or how complicated it is to use some kind of workaround that seems to only work for some people. I do know that it's pretty easy to have multiple country accounts on the PS3 network, that games are not region locked so people import to/from Japan, America, England all the time. That being said, there isn't even a date set for even the American version of Dawnguard for them/other me so I just finished on my Xbox. Been over a week so I'm starting to get Skyrim withdrawals symptoms. That's a real illness, right?

Wellt German censorship laws arent that bad. At least its lot better then Australian laws. I read once that they are trying to get a 18-rating there, but iam not sure if its though yet. cause before there was only a 15-rating. That means: no games with a 18-rating would be released there, or they would only released if they are quite heavily censored.

Just replace "German" with "Italian". ;) Should work exactly the same.

Well there would be the problem, that if u get a new code for replacing the italian with the english version there might be many people who are coming arround and want a new Code too. The Problem: Lots of people might just say so and sell that code afterward. There was this kind of problem with minecraft too. Lots of people came arround saying they were playing on a tube tv and got the points back :/
All not so easy. Waiting might be still the best solution

The english version is ALREADY in the italian marketplace, if I want, I can download it any time, but I DON'T WANT to pay for it, because I have alreafy paid for the italian bugged one. I don't really see the problem, Microsoft KNOWS I PAID for the italian version, so it's just a matter of making the english version available for download for MY ACCOUNT, and if they want they can lock the italian one just like I had never bought it, where is the problem here?

Ok guys, just called by phone the microsoft assistance, THEY GAVE ME MY POINTS BACK!!!!! So now I can download the english version from the marketplace, I believe english version will be available in germany if there is no difference in age restriction or something like that... for any italian user with the same problem: call microsoft at 800787614 it's toll free and they are great (probably because they are aware of the problem).

It seems like the Italians have it, so why can't we have the English version? Any news?

And no, I'm not going to get a frickin English account just to pay 20 bucks again (which nobody can guarantee me that it's going to work)...

I'm now downloading the english version... what is ridicolous is that they left the italian version in my history of download so I could hipotetically download it again!

What sound ridicolous to me is how impatient some of you are...next time wait for the proper version to be on the market instead of buyin' the italian one in the rush

English copy of the game = english version of the dlc isn't too difficult

Oh really? Whas I THAT impatient? Remember that I was FORCED to play the english version because the limited edition would came ONLY in english! And YES, there was NO EVIDENCE that Bethesda would have put the english version in the italian marketplace. But what is REALLY ridicolous is that you are supporting a softhouse that put on the market a game full of bugs (and this is not related about having english version, people with the italian version of Skyrim suffered it too) making gamers pay 20 euros for it! I mean, come on, all the NPCs are naked, creatures are invisible and i SHOULDN'T BE UPSET?!?!? They put the english version online only when they realized the disaster that had been done! And remember, in Germany they are still waiting for a proper version!
As I proof of what I am saying: doesn't it sound strange to you that MS refunded me my points when it is clearly stated that the download is "not refundable"? Maybe they are aware of the mess that has been done...

To update, we're working on releasing an English version of Dawnguard for German users. This is currently in certification with Microsoft.

Who have forced you to buy the collectors edition or the dlc at day 1 ? Don't blame others for your own faults
No needs to be so rude anyway, try to be more comprehensive even with others other than yourself,i've waited the patch before buy it and i haven't experienced any major bug yet

- but most of all i'm not defending or supporting no one here, i'm just tryin' to express my opinion in a constructive way and without being too emotionally involved like you

Ms and beth have done to you a favour repairing to your hurry ,you should be grateful to them, even if i understand your reasons for being upset there is no needs to insult someone else's work - a mistake could be forgiven to a company that had give to you hundreds of hours of good entertainment after all, don't you agree ?
