No Patch for the English version in Germany

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 3:33 pm

Hmmm, not a bad idea...not bad at all if that is legal...maybe we could ask even Bethesda if we could get a patch on an USB stick or something if we send in some proof or so .....as a temporary solution for customers stuck on a britsh version....

"i want" still sounds pretending to me,if that wasn't the case my apologies to you

"I want" in the context I used it was not implying that I demand anything from Bethesda. I was just expressing that if I cannot choose which language version of a game I can play, I'll make the personal decision not to play it at all. Sorry if it came across differently :)

no need to apologies, i've misunderstood ....your intentions were right

i agree that a legal way to obtain the dlc in english in other countries is needed and i'm sure that they will solve that embarassing situation, otherwise you've the right to solve it on your own - or at least try it - and continue to complain here

to the other guys: nothing illegal, insted of sitting on your butt and post here search for a possible solution on your own on the net,it would be more constructive perhaps - this is what i intended with "laziness"

otherwise you've only to wait considering that at bethesda and ms they're aware of the situation

Posting here is exactly what you call "a way to search for a possible solution on the net", I think.
It is constructive too, because if anybody has any news or ideas we can spread them to everybody sharing the same problem.

Dude, I've seen multiple 'solutions' and they all lead to the same grey areas. You either set up a Virtual Private Network or use a proxy server that clouds your IP. Or, you take your XBox to the designated country. If you know any non-illegal / no grey area solutions, why not enlighten us? I'd certainly welcome it.

PLEASE DELETE IF THIS POSTING IS AGAINST THE FORUM RULES

another possible way to venture is if he borrow each other a german verions of skyrim so our xbox loads down the patch...even if we then suffer the german dubbing...would that work?

We would only have to organize ourselves...

Guys, this is getting in to the "unacceptable discussion" zone. Lay off the torrents, using other peoples games, making fake XBox accounts, they are not for these forums.

I wonder, do you actually just post for the sake of posting? Otherwise, just let me point out that you contradict yourself. On one hand you claim there are legal solutions and we're just to 'lazy' to find them, on the other hand you say 'there should be a way to legally obtain the english dawnguard dlc in Germany/Austria'. Well, whatever, I don't feed trolls so good day to you sir.

To go back to topic. I'm glad that the folks at Bethesda are at least aware of the situation. I sincerely hope that the English version of the DLCs will become available as well. But it's most likely that people who bought German DLC, would have to pay for the English version again. Although this presents another problem. Would it even be possible to own the same DLC twice?

Here guys, try this link if it works.

marketplace.xbox.com

/en-US/Product/The-Elder-Scrolls-V-Skyrim-Dawnguard/

8ab49c69-b2d8-4055-99c8-a941655f5de8

Actually I was talking with a support guy. He passed it on to me and I seem ^^ to be able to download the UK DLC for free since I purchased already the other German DLC with my MS Points.

I'm from Luxemburg, so ^^ I hope this helps. If you wish I can also put on the whole conversation I followed with that Support person XD

The English disc you have -- is it a US disc or UK disc?

Nah, doesn't work unfortunately. If I click on 'buy', I'm automatically redirected to the German version of the DLC. Which is actually new because a while ago I always got an error message 'Not available in your country'

Wait, does that mean the only european country to not get the english version is germany and austria? Switzerland has it, Spain, I think Italy too.
You guys know anything about the english version being on the french market?
Edit: I swear to god, I'm sure the USK is somehow involved in this. Every european country can be thankful to not have media rating group that svcks as badly as they do.

I doubt this has anything to do with the USK, at least this time. They even gave Skyrim a lower age rating than PEGI. Could it just be an oversight by MS this time? If other European countries have both, the English and their native version available, there's no reason we shouldn't have as well.

hi burckhardt,i'm from italy and dawnguard is available in 2 versions, the italian and the english one,but since i have the limited edition with the uk disc, and i have downloaded the italian version of this blessed dlc,i can't get that damn patch,so i wonder why they can't allow to download both versions of it without spending 1600MP and end it right here!

Peeps need to keep in mind that Germany has extremely strict laws on gaming. Gore in many games must be removed or changed as does certain other content. Thats almost certainly why you cant get US/UK dawnguard in Germany.
