PC Patch out Now

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 11:17 am

I installed the patch and am glad the arrows that were stuck in my character are gone now. Not having any CTD's or mouse issues like you guys. Haven't seen any dragons yet or got to test any magical resistance stuffs...

Just checked.
The new patch *DELETED* 2 or 3 of my most recent saves.

Oh Lord...

Something is terribly wrong.

LOL! Glad I don't use Steam that forces you to patch.

My condolences to the QA department.

I mean, its not like just a few resistances are broken; ALL ELEMENTAL RESISTANCES ARE BROKEN. That's a pretty big oopsie to have slip through.

Poison resist might also be broken. but I'm not going to load up my Bosmer to check, because without my shield's perk-granted 50% elemental resist, elder dragons one-shot me.

Okay, so it sounds like resistances are screwed up, at least for one person. Anybody else checked this out yet? Maybe the crashes and the like are strictly caused by an incompatibility between the patch and mods, while perhaps the broken resistances is an actual problem with the patch itself. So how many can confirm that they have checked it out, and elemental resistances are broken in their game? I don't exactly run into atronachs in my game and I don't use magic, and I haven't DLed the patch yet or I'd check it out myself.

In my case, the game run enough good with the first patch (& mod'S) that no need to patch again !

An un-officiel patch maybe welcome : (BETHESDA SWIM BETWEEN THE BEST AND WORST) This game is still the best on the market since fallout 3.
If there is a bug in a quest, I stop the quest and I immediately goes to exploration for a new quest and this until a perfect patch will come out
this make me wait.

If you actually play Skyrim, then you just admitted to being a pirate. Go away.

fGamepadHeadingXScale=1.0
fGamepadHeadingYScale=1.0
changing those two/adding those two aren't having an effect on looking up or down. still slow when moving the camera. rather annoying.

Which ini are you adding them to? The one in the steamapps folder or the one in my documents?

@Soor
he did not admit to being a pirate he said he is glad he doesn't use steam to play skyrim which is actually possible

so question is it true that this patch addressed interior lag from lighting and fog effects?

Just curious. It seems like most people having problem are running mods, but I wanted to ask. If everybody not running mods is fine, and everybody who's getting screwed is running mods, that would be important to know.

This. It's sounding to me like the first thing you should do if you're having problems is to remove all (and I mean ALL) mods. Get it to work, then try re-applying them. But don't complain about Bethesda's crappy QA unless you are having serious problems and have never installed any mods whatsoever.

Sounds to me like the people you should be complaining about are the people who made those mods which break a new versions of Skyrim.

My policy is to never install anything on my computer unless I have a clear reason AND if I trust the source. I.e. the only mods I'm installing for Skyrim are those officially blessed by Bethesda. That policy has saved me a lot of headaches over the years.

ALWAYS make changes only to the one in My Documents folder. The one in the game folder is the template from which the game makes a new ini file should it need to, so it's best to leave it untouched.

And additionally the changes made to the game folder ini won't take effect until the game creates a new ini file from it.

Have experienced no problems yet. Dragon fights work fine.

What I did find weird is that Skyrim crashed to desktop to download the patch. Anyone else had that?
