PC Patch out Now

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 11:40 am

how incompetent and careless do you need to be to put out a patch the creates more problems than it solves - do they test that crapp? now im pissed - the game is not playable any more - had about 10 crashes in a row and now i cant start it anymore - before it worked wonderfully....bloody noobs

Dude can you, and others like you with the same issue, confirm whether you have tinkered with anything? Changed any ini files for e.g.?

Or are you like me and just play and not change anything?

Also I'm guessing this is the PC? If Beth are reading this (likely??? :whistling: ) they'll need to know details like this i guess

Just downloaded the patch and ran the game fine so far. I checked to see if I can map keys to the keypad and I still can't. Which is a big bummer. I mean I use AutoHotKey, but I was hoping that this was going to be one of their top priorities, as a left-hander.

As far as other PC users having issues, I of course can't talk for everything, but as patches are made there may be some mods that you may have downloaded and installed that may cause problems, so you may not want to automatically assign blame to the patch for the problem. Bethesda never confirms that their game works with mods installed, they always confirm with the Vanilla version of the game, as it should be.

X-axis is fine, the y-axis is hardly moving at all. You can't adjust each separately, which svcks.

I now know what you mean...I fixed the Mouse Y by removing the X and Y tweaks from Skyrim.ini. I guess the lines aren't needed anymore.

Did you have the X and Y tweaks in Skyrim.ini ?

I have Steam, so how do I tell what version I am running cause I'm not finding it anywhere!!!!

Go in-game. Hit the ESC key and it'll be in the lower left corner of the menu system.

I gonna try and just place my old retail non steam 4g patched TESV.EXE into the Skyrim folder. Did anyone notice a file change other than: Skyrim - Interface.bsa and TESV.EXE?

Okay, so not sure if this is due to the update or not but... Now when I press Play on the Launcher is asks if I wish for this Program to make changes to my PC (this only happened once at first time load up) I press OK, the launcher disapears then comes back, nothing happens..

Anyone?

This happened to me before a random hidden patch a week or so ago. I had to reinstall the game. I'm fairly sure it was because I fiddled with the Skyrim files a bit to adjust my game. I tried just about everything else, including taking down any protection whatsoever and it still wouldn't start until I reinstalled.

I wonder how long before they fix how awful trying to decorate your home is because items reset to where they were originally dropped, not to where you've moved them.

so that's why my stuff was all over the floor instead of in the display cases where i moved them when i came back...i was like wtf?

If you play a game you set to "disable updates" while in Online mode, Steam re-enables it. Annoying... :facepalm:

The solution is to go Offline mode. That way, it won't re-enable auto updates.

I just checked that myself - God that's infuriating.

I caught it before it started updating the game, though. So I guess I'm playing offline for a while ...

That thing is turned off, my mouse is still jittery and jerky all the time. :(

So perhaps it was not the smoothing?

Do you have VSync on? If so try to turn it off.

Thank you. That worked. 12120 is my number; so probably 1.2.1.20 or something

fGamepadHeadingXScale=1.0
fGamepadHeadingYScale=1.0
changing those two/adding those two aren't having an effect on looking up or down. still slow when moving the camera. rather annoying.

An e-mail is worth a thousand posts.
