I would say avoid this patch at all costs unless you are feeling unusually adventurous and enjoy gambling with your save files. lol

there will be a mad scientist or a rouge lone wolf with a hex editor on the prowl that just might save the day for savefiles.

Yep download started for me too about 52mb incoming. Made a backup of 1.1.21.0 just in case and saves were put to a safe location as well!

Gonna walk the dog an check Skyrim afterwards ;)

Edit:
Strange the patch notes on steam show the same as posted here but from what I understand the Xbox and PS3 were rather smallish compared to 52mb...

Back up your TESV.exe
Turn off Steam updates

Let some brave soul test it out and post information. Go brave soul! :icecream:

Mine seems to have downloaded fine. Not sure I want to use it, though.

Edit: hmm, that sounded rather a lot like "well I'm alright." That wasn't the intent, honest!

You know, from the sounds of things their patching system has gotten worse since fallout 3. I didn't think that was possible. One would think with all the 'testing' and 'certification' the patch needed to go through it wouldn't be such a disaster. I hope the construction kit comes out soon so I can get a fix for the patch :P

Thanks for the heads up about auto-updating.
Is there a way to disable all Steam game updates at once?

I would love to have faith in Bethesda once again, but after hearing the stories of how the patch affects gameplay on the consoles... I am very hesitant to install this patch. Maybe someone who's already installed it can break the news. :cryvaultboy:

Yeah, I wish that was possible. I had Steam use up all of my monthly download quota once thanks to an updating frenzy; I was a bit nonplussed about that.

The PS3 version of the patch was actually 92mb. The Xbox version was a lowly 3mb.

Well it looks like you drew the short straw then :cookie: Can you please do some play testing and see if the resistances have gone and that Dragons fly true?

Nice to see all platform users will be united finding out that resistance is indeed futile.
