Still waiting for the US release of this patch......Kinda irritated. The only bug i've ever come across is the intense lag after about 11mbs..i just really want this fixed, though from the responses i've seen they've done little to do so.

It's a lot of mixed results here.

To some, it has been temporarily fixed.

To some, nothing happened.

To some, it only made the game worse.

Time to fire some of your lazy d*ckhead-coders, Bethesda?

Do that. Dark Souls doesn't lag at least.
Yeah, but the game is only about 20 hours long, unless you go through the replay for no additional anything. :l Games these days, *Misses* psx and the lovely abundance of rpg games.

Patch does nothing for performance, still 15 minutes of play or 3 fast travels before its 1fps.
I'm in the same boat, I've noticed no improvement whatsoever

My save file size went down but I'm still lagging like a motherf***er. Thanks bethesda!

I think I'll just go buy dark souls.
Yeah, do that. I have Dark Souls and it is an amazing game. I really wish Bethesa hadn't borked on the PS3 version of Skyrim though.

I will repeat what i said in another thread (i'm not referring to you).
"I will be brief. Save file size is not an issue, it wasn't that the problem also before. The problem was probably how the engine accessed to disk and how much data the game cached in RAM. Bigger save file = bigger changes in the world = in long session play too mach data cached so people noticed lag (that wasn't so bad as it was depicted by the horde). This patch, in theory, has improved how much data are cached and disk access. It's NORMAL that you filesize increase. Don't follow the whiny-i-dont-know-how-a-calculator-works-but-i-know-why-the-game-is-broken horde."

So don't worry, if they fixed the cache problem, you can have a 40MB file.

Thanks, makes sense as it definitely seems to be heavily related on the length of my play sessions more than anything else. I won't pretend to know the ins and outs of console architecture and how it all relates to me playing my games. All I do know is that it's not working as I want it to. I'm not going to get on the whiny bethesda bashing bandwagon as that doesn't help anyone I just hope it gets sorted in the not too distant future.

I second this

Over the last few hours my mood has peaked with delight and then gradually subsided back into resignation.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the lag problem is just like before (for me anyway). Admittedly it let me play for longer before becoming apparent but after a couple of hours continuous play it's back to the lag fest.

And yes autosaves are off.

What PS3 are you using? cause Im not having any of these issues on my 60gb for all you know it's the ps3 type you have, slims are notorious for acting up on games.

I was waiting for this patch to see if it would be worth it to buy Skyrim, but from the feedback I'm reading I think I'll just buy Skyward Sword. At least Nintendo makes games that work <_<

I can now play for about 30 minutes longer without lag. After about 2 and a half hours of play it, if anything, is worse than before. The patch DOES NOT FIX the problem. I am stunned at the complete deceit shown by Bethesda on this. Before anyone suggests I'm being over the top, I paid as did most others £40 for this game and pre release was under the impression it was major bug free and on a par with the 360 version. It wasn't and despite a patch which was also promised to fix said bug, it still isn't. Bethesda lied to their customers in order to get them to spend money. I for one will not spend another penny on a Bethesda title.

I will be returning my game on Friday if this patch or any additional patches this week don't fix the problem.

I don't reward companies that try to slip past a broken game to consumers in the hopes that most people will tolerate it.

Now if only a million other people would do the same thing we might start to see them pay attention and work to our satisfaction. I hope that a lawsuit is organized one of these days that sets some kind of reasonable expectation of quality in order for a game to be sold. It's the retailers that really need to put the heat on because they are just as responsible as Bethesda is. Games used to have a handful of minor bugs and we would scream bloody murder, and they would get fixed within days. Now games are released with hundreds of bugs and never has a retailer considered pulling it from the shelf.

I hope I'm not the only one that this bothers.

Yeah, to bad Nintendo is going through some rough times financially right now. I really hope they can pick themselves back up in the next year or two and get back on the roll they were on a couple years back.

So I'm about an hour into the game, escaping through dungeons and caverns, and have noticed the controls are a bit sluggish, it's not quite 'lag' but doesn't feel smooth either, despite me putting the sensitivity up. Is this normal and does it improve once I get outside I wonder?

To add to this, I'm 3 hours into the game now and in Riverwood and lag has gone, so that's good...

Although I went into the trader store and when I exited Camilla started walking away and out of the area so now I'm worried if I don't follow her for her quest then she'll just disappear in typical Bethesda fashion!

Shouldn't it be us that laugh at you? You are out of pocket way more than us.

Seriously though, Bethesda will not refund anyone, your only hope would be to complain to the retailer and failing that, don't buy anything from Bethesda again. I would also share the shoddy treatment and performance with as many people and sites as possible as it's probably the only way Bethesda would take notice.

Well.., I think I can say that Bethesda got the worst coders ever...

I don't think they even know what's the problem. It can be anything really.

-CPU-bottleneck
-Memory/cache-issues
-GPU-bottlenecking

These are highly likely reasons. I'd take a bet on bottlenecking issues with the GPU. The PS3-GPU is notorious for that. Though that's easily fixable by handing some of the workload over to the CPU.
I doubt that there's any CPU-bottlenecking problems. The PS3's CPU is relatively fast.

So Bethesda, please adress the issue properly first.
