PCPS3 Release date, Part 4.

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 1:16 am

The release won't happen until after 1.7, I highly suspect 1.7 has many undocumented fixes for things that came up with the Xbox version of Dawnguard that are Dawnguard specific.

What irrates me most is probably how long they waited to roll out the 1.7 beta patch, because as long as it is in beta we won't see hide nor hair of Dawnguard, and if it isn't a fixed period beta then we may not even see a release date anytime soon.

Having a release date will calm a few people down, there will still be a lot of annoyed people but it is better than everyone being annoyed that the exclusivity is up and they are still in the dark.

Wait, why can't they just release it together? I don't see why they must release the patch, wait a week, and then give us Dawngaurd..

I think I speak for everyone on PC when I say, "I CAN FIX IT MYSELF I WANT THE DLC NOW"
Seriously though we have 1.6 which has the necessary code for the whole dlc, so all we need is the dlc, please give it to me now, I dont want to wait for your.........."fix".

I can and will do it myself.

Hell the PC modders could probably make a DLC a million times better than Dawnguard if Bethesda gave them just the resources to play with.

Agreed.

There's nothing a well-placed console command or two can't fix.

Why wasn't Dawnguard released with the 1.6 update for PC? If 1.6 was all it needed to run...

...I mean. Since when has Beths ever had a problem with PC bugs. Horses clipping through walls, broken speech, that horrible bow+arrow interface ("Aim -over- the crosshair, Dovahkiin!"), all of that. Since when has that bothered Beths a bit.

Make another patch when people say stuff is going wrong. Just give us the DLC. -cry-

It's still early in the day. Just give them time and have a slight bit more patience.

Clearly, i'm the only one here that's happy that we aren't going to have to wait for September or beyond.

ASSUMING that Tweet was correct.
You're not the only one i'm happy about it, its what i thought would probably happen. These Kids today are just impatient.

Not so much impatient, we were just let down. A 30-day exclusive Xbox run would expire today, which is what Beths said. It's only logical to get excited and hope for it in the next few days.

Yeah, so much for a 31st release.... Beth confuses me. But, then again were relying on Sony here, an effed-up, cheapskate, gimmick company.

"Oh, sorry, a mister Todd Howard. We would love to approve your patch for our consumers. But, we must take the proper measures to ensure that your well known, reputable company won't hijack our systems. Like those two-bit bozo....ehh, I mean elite splinter cell group Anonymous did."

Beth just release the damn thing. You already alienated the majority of your users be accepting Microsofts coin and I'm not just talking about exclusivity, I'm talking about the forced silence that was likely part of the deal. Just release the expansion and lets put this behind us.

Damn games industry and its ridiculous love of secrecy. NDA's, corporate gagging orders, meaningless double talk and weasel words. You make entertainment products nor weapons systems!

Pffft, they're probably gluing together another server that self-destructed.

Doesn't 30 day exclusivity literally mean: Bethesda are not allowed, for 30 days, to release or set a release date for, Dawnguard, on any platform other than Xbox 360. As a result, they can only truly make the necessary arrangements to allow PC/PS3 release upon the end of the 30 day exclusivity. This in essence means, I think, that although Dawnguard may be "ready", they have to make the arrangements with Sony, Valve, and all other business partners, to arrange for the DLC to actually be released, and this may take more than a day, so the DLC will take longer. The contract meant they could not do this in advance.

In addition, I get the feeling they also may not post on their own blog as and when they feel, such actions require further paperwork, so even if they want to tell us they have to wait for upper management to give them the clear to tell us.

At least, that's the feeling I'm getting.

Why wasn't Dawnguard released with the 1.6 update for PC? If 1.6 was all it needed to run..

Because Microsoft paid them money to release it at least a month earlier on the XBox...

I frankly don't give a damn, I will wait for a retail-version even if it will be the GOTY Edition with all DLCs in 1 1/2 or 2 years since I don't buy stuff on Steam.

Dawngaurd is almost a definite august release. We'll see 1.7 in the "coming weeks". What happened to 1.6???

So instead of 30 days of exclusivity, the Xbox gets how many days of exclusivity, 40? 50?

Think of it guys, Bethesda appreciates their smallest audience more than their two biggest. They'll go under soon, it's only a matter of time. I was so excited this morning. I knew we wouldn't get it but I was hoping for a release date but no. Also Patch 1.6 was just mounted combat nothing crucial in there for Dawnguard to work. It's just a big piss off, I've already beat Skyrim at least 7 times and Itès ridiculously boring, I have the platinum trophy for it, there really is nothing left to do. This is just ridiculous.

Said it before, but here it is again.....It's very possible that the "30 exclusive" time didn't start until it was released for ALL Xbox 360 platforms....that would include the FIGS version, which didn't get released til roughly 2 Weeks after it was released for the English versions....

Didn't Xbox have the most Skyrim sales?

Nope PC was ranked highest, and PS3 finished slightly ahead of Xbox. It is impossible for Xbox or PS3 to have number 1 sales as PC has modding and now adays most people have a good PC but not everybody has a console.

Patch 1.6 had all the files that allows dawnguard to work with other dlcs, because dlcs are like mods if you dont have the base game files put in it will crash when it conflicts with another dlc or mod but the base game has already been given the dlc files.

So whats the hold up.

I think it did, Bethesda have sold out to the Xbox, and have abandoned the people who made them profitable. If it wasn't for PC users The Elder Scrolls would not exist.
