PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 13

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 1:40 am

  • It is 20 dollars for 10 hours of gameplay...

Your reasons are your own, but I just wanted to say, Dawnguard is a solid 20+ hours. Unless you are playing Novice difficulty and speeding through everything, the main faction questline and the sidequests easily amount to over 20 hours worth of content in a single playthrough.

These threads do us no good, its just a loud roar or a yell someone can easily stop hearing.Going on and on talking about the same stuff all the time is hopeless. We have to make beth listen to us and this is not the way.I was thinking maybe we should make (as a community and customers) another thread which will express a demand for better communication.Only the first comment will be the actual demand and all the other ones will work as "signs" so to say, "I do support this demand" etc.It is easy for bethesda to ignore this thread because frankly its just a constant loud whining, but ignoring a direct demand from a community and actually their customers is another thing

I am hardly a Sony really devoted fan, and I honestly prefer the 360 and PC.(although i do have a ps3 as well). Having said that though, I fail to understand why people blame Sony. I agree that Sony perhaps should have made a console a bit more developer friendly if you will, but that doesn't excuse Bethesda. They made the choice to release it on the ps3 and this was not their first attempt at making a game for that console.(Fallout 3). If Bethesda honestly felt they were not capable of making a quality product on the ps3, then don't make it for that console. Simple as that. Before release Bethesda was saying Skyrim on ps3 and 360 had reached a good place of parity. Don't make comments like that if you can't deliver.

For those also blaming Sony for only allowing a certain amount of patches(not sure if this is even true), you have to realize they have let Bethesda release 5 patches already. Once again Bethesda should take some heat for this as well. They could have released a more functional game and not had to rely so much on patches to make the game more stable. The fact that the game is definitely much more playable since the patches proves that Bethesda pushed the game out the door too soon and could have released a much better product had it been delayed. I understand that patches are sometimes needed to fix bugs and glitches. Not to the degree that Bethesda relies on them though.

As for Dawnguard, I imagine it will release in late August, or early September. This is obviously just a guess on my part.
I never said Sony gets full blame on the patches thing if the patch limit thing is true, I was just pointing out that I read that somewhere. As a matter of fact, I don't even assume that the limited patches thing is true, just something that was said somewhere that should be taken into consideration. Bethesda does get at least some blame for not telling the full truth when it comes to patches on that platform, whatever that may be.

Additionally, I only said it is entirely possible that they are working on bug fixes. Entirely possible and very likely are not the same thing (and as you would guess, I am NOT holding my breath for any Dawnguard fixes that are not part of any of the base master files).

Okay lets say it's 20 hours of game play for 20 dollars, a game like Dark Souls is 150+ hours for 40, hell, I have 240 hours on Skyrim and I payed 60 dollars. Do the math.

If this is how you measure the value of game and DLC content, then i'm sure you won't be buying any DLC ever. Because DLC isn't designed on a per hour basis. Its your choice, but I don't think math problems aren't a great way to find entertainment.

Not what I am saying, but we are getting off topic now.

I am sad.

Guys, Bethesda is like women, once you stop paying attention to them they'll show some interest in you. So my advice is to start a dead silence about the pc release date. Not a single thread/post referring to the PC/ps3 release date and no begging and whining. Only a complete lack of interest will get their attention.

I just want it to come out before August 14. If it does, I'm happy.

I think it's pretty safe to say that it will come out later some time, as he later clarified that what he meant was simply that they didn't have any announcement regarding Dawnguard that day (yesterday).

There′s another fact I believe. In august most Bethesda will go on holydays, so a Dawnguard development is impossible technically speaking.

Dawnguard will be released in the middle of August. Information from russian wiki.

But i am really disappointed. Beth, i ve used your products something about 10 years and the Skyrim is the worthest game from all TES series. Too empty locations, too small dialogs, too banol story and characters.
But first of all - you ve betrayed the whole community of PC gamers which support you for all of this years. Skyrim - the last product of yours company which i have bought.

Is that what all the former cold war russian spies are doing now? somehow i doubt they're any better at digging up useful information now than they were then.

I just read the threads #11, #12 and now this one, and I have to say that Im amazed that so many people still going to buy this DLC.

Its clear to me that the best way to show our (mine) disappointment is not buying this product. Eventually, on a steam sale, I may buy it...but my little protest will be not giving my money to support this kind of commercial strategy.

I'm pretty sure it will be released at the same time as patch 1.7, so in the coming weeks...
I don't mind waiting, i just want to know a possible release date.

I agree, but still...it's just annoying. And anyways, we aren't asking for something extraordinary. They said themselves the exclusivity period was of 1 month, and it's just logic to release it after that period of time.

Such a small thing that it seems, and the problems they're making for that....Bethesda has certainly created a mountain from a single sand dust.

The silence is broken! New tweet from Pete Hines says we'll get info soon. Halelujah, some communication at last.
Edit: Twitter seems to be acting up, probably due to the olympics and whatnot. The 2 new tweets aren't showing up consistently, so I'll copy/paste them here.
"@pbjustin92 for PS3 everything from 1.6 is rolled into the 1.7 patch we announced and hope to have out soon for all 3 platforms. "
"@eldarmark Just sit tight. We'll have info soon. "
The second tweet was responding to someone asking about the PC/PS3 release of dawnguard.
