PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 16

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 3:35 pm

yes, it means that after the 30 days bethesda can, if they want to, make the game available for other platforms
they should call it 30 day restriction then cuz when I was younger 30 day exclusive meant exactly tht Bethesda is changing the terms to fit their situation

"We all want the ability to buy your DLC." "Hear that guys, they're whining again, let's not make money." Of course people are pissed; 2/3s of the platforms Skyrim was released on are getting screwed by the agreement between Bethesda and Microsoft — but here's the thing XBox users don't get hyped about getting it early, but PS3 and PC users get pissed off and so far Bethesda's not exactly doing a good job of combating the Negative PR.
s

Reading this Bethesda. We want to purchase your new DLC Dawnguard. So all you XBOX users keep saying we are whining so that you get the game exclusively and guess what your dream comes true then Bethesda loses millions in dollars in sales just like Blizzard's screw up with Diablo III.

Just imagine what could happen if Bethesda said:
" After the thirty days exclusivity we are releasing Dawnguard to the other systems ! "

People would actually love the company.
they know we love them anyway, so why bother

... I have to admit that after 15 threads the same things are just being rehashed, often by the same people, but ..........

The value in rehashing is in letting Bethesda know the degree of badwill their coy noninformation replies generates.

Stuff like this makes my argument stronger.....

In a recent https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/228527108681502720, vice president of Bethesda Softworks Pete Hines said, "We have not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given a timeline for any such news. If we have news, I promise I'd tell you."

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/07/27/still-no-ps3-or-pc-release-for-dawnguard.aspx

I hope that your keep your promises!

Maybe it's a 30 working days exclusive, which means they are still under a gag order.

Then the Vice President should have said that instead of what he posted on Twitter. Makes it sould like we will never get it for years or not at all.

i dont think it is about flaming Bethesda, it is about trying to get the point across that people are asking for answers on this. It is called democracy in this part of planet earth. Sometimes a group as to pressure another group to enact change. This is what is happening here. As long as Beth does not give an answer that is "positive", people will keep on flaming. So in reality Beth has to announce the DLC or ortherwise i can see this getting a whole lot worse and name callign will surely fly!

Bethesda in my opinion you should have never agreed to the XBOX exclusivity contract. Really could turn out to be very bad for you!

I'd just like to point out:
Xbox = Dawnguard
PC = Thousands of mods worth about 50 Dawnguards

I really don't see why PC gamers complain when they have tonnes of FREE content.
PS3 gamers have every right to whine though.

I haven't played Skyrim in almost 5 months since I lost total interest on it. Now, that I'm planning to go back and hear all this about "Dawnguard"; how its been delayed, or how Xbox got the royal treatment, this gives me more reason to lose interest in Skyrim once again.

Mods that may well be better than Dawnguard =/= Dawnguard.

Just cause we have mods doesn't mean we shouldn't get Dawnguard.
I'm not whining. I'm just pointing out that if you're going to make a multi-platform franchise, the company in charge of it releasing DLC to it should distribute it to all platforms the franchise is on.
Besides, it's already pretty much confirmed that PC and PS3 are getting it at some point, so why are we still having the "why _______ platform should/shouldn't get it" discussions? xD

Mods can only do so much, friend. The most we get are new armors, retextures, models and some other MODIFICATIONS (Hence the name "mods") to the current game. In the end, it's all a makeover. For modders to create detailed content with new voice acting, files and other would take a pretty long time (Probably much longer than Dawnguard).

Even the new locations can only go so far and big (i.e Elsweyr mod).

Both platforms have every right to complain, in the end. Mods or no mods.

PS3 players have nothing to keep them self busy if they finishes skyrim like a million times alrdy what can they do, finish it another million times? Then the game DOES get boring, i so now and then just collect stuf make wicked sets with good enchantments and such, and so now and then [censored] a few draugr or bandits or dragons... Or i go play fifa until DG releases ^_^

To reply to mr xavier, if he would cast his eyes over the first post of his thread, he shall see Gstaff alluding to the 30 day deal. There is also concrete evidence that it IS coming to PC/PS3 in Beth peeps saying news is on the way, and the fact that some sharp eyed PC guys have noticed valve validating DG for steam.

This was all covered in the very threads you posted in. Up to speed now?

Your right, PC players should be left out on all the official content from now on, i mean, they can make their own stuff and all..... seriously, i hate that argument, some people actually enjoys a high quality bethesda made DLC over a "five new armors mod"
