PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 16

How do we even know that the DLC it mentions is Dawnguard? It could be Horse Armor 2.0 for all we know.

Because Occam's Razor would suggest it isn't - It's far more likely to be Dawnguard than anything else.

Compared to Final Fantasy fans we are getting treated quite well, FF fans have been waiting 6 years for FFversus13 and still do not have a release date for it.....

Doesn't help that Final Fantasy fans will buy just about anything no matter how awful the predecessors were or how bad it looks because they have nostalgiagasms over [Insert Favorite Number]. No incentive for the company to change when all they see is success.

I'll take that as the joke you intended it to be.

But if you are wondering if it's the High Res DLC, no, it has a page of its own. Here: http://cdr.thebronasium.com/app/202485

True, but Square is working on some good games at the moment Default bravery is one I want to get my hands on when it comes state side. They started to listens to the fan base as well, who knows maybe Bethesda will have to make some mistakes before they start to realize what needs to be done.

:ermm: I can promise you Bethesda saying "We release it eventually" will only lead to people demanding and exact date then getting angry when Bethesda does not give leading to more threads like this one.

And if Bethesda gives a date then misses it for some reason, people post dozens of threads in all caps ranting about how Beth lied, they hate the [insert platform of your choice] players, and generally managing to be disruptive to the forums, to say the least. My personal preference is that they don't announce a date until they know for sure they will make the date.

Considering the statement regarding the timed exclusive, and the fact that no one official has announced that Dawnguard will *not* be released for pc and ps3, I'm content to wait. In the absolute worst case scenario I wait until the compiled goty type edition is released, and I buy it then. Do I want it? Yes. But I'm content to wait.

It won't be horse armour. They already said no horse armour for Skyrim. Instead, we'll be getting http://planetelderscrolls.ign.com/images/44188/PC/The-Elder-Scrolls-V-Skyrim/Photo/PC-Gamer-mocks-Horse-Armor-dlc

Thousands of mods worth 50 Dawnguards each? Lolwut? As far as the eye can see it's nothing but retextures, armor mash ups, and player house mods either so overwhelming and well stocked you might as well never leave them, or so muted and pointless you may as well not bother. The only quest mods that do show up at this point tend to be done entirely by notes and have about as much depth as "You found a letter asking you to kill a bro" followed by "grats on killin' a bro, bro, here's your castle."

Oh, don't forget the "Play as a latex covered fetish Barbie doll!" mods and the "sixy as hell, overpowered as superhell hot chick companion mod", that one is popular too. Or just good ol' fashioned gratuitous nudity.

You're either blind or lack the erudition to look around a little.

That's been my feeling on it the whole time, Beth is not going to throw a date out until they are sure they can meet it.

I'll be the first to admit I'm a victim of rather high standards. As soon as things seem un-loreworthy they tend to get kicked to the curb, there's enough "stuff" to talk about on Tamriel and Nirn that we don't need people making less-than-subtle inserts of Warcraft lore.

I appreciate any man, woman, or it that makes a quest mod, but calling them on par with an official DLC at this stage is laughable at best - such is the basis of my argument.

General opinion around is this:

"Timed exclusives are outrageous these days. Microsoft basically paid Bethesda money to punish gamers for using a PS3 or PC. The DLC is obviously done, but they're just gonna sit on it. It's a testament to Microsoft that they would rather give their PC userbase the finger to promote their console where they svck down licensing fees like a delicious latte." - By someone else.

I do agree with this.

 My good PC gave me the finger about 2months ago...so Microsoft would only add to the insult.

Then just look around. There are plenty of people who like yourself will not install a mod unless it's utterly lore friendly and as such there are a myriad of mods suited to those people. I too, will not install a mod unless it's lore friendly.

I don't think anybody made an argument that suggested quest mods were on par with official DLC, which is of course, not to say that user created quests are bad; i've played several fully voiced user created quests that are more fun than some of the quests in the main game, and i currently have a mod installed that adds 50 fully voiced NPC's to the game (and few thousand lines of dialogue) who are more interesting and well thought out than pretty much all of the vanilla NPC's. The person you responded to suggested individual mods were worth more which is hyperbole to say the least, but to put it bluntly, I have enough mods installed to equal that of the content included in Dawnguard, and best off all, it's free.

DLCForAppID =http://cdr.thebronasium.com/app/72850

(72850 = Skyrim) http://store.steampowered.com/app/72850/ .

/Dawnguard.

Reposting these really might be considered spam, but it seems so many people have missed it it's just hard to ignore...

No offense man, but no amount of circumstantial speculative evidence from "believers" is gonna equate an official announcement from Bethesda!
Personaly, I do believe it's coming, the real question is: When?!
The lack of communication from Bethesda, is brewing trouble for everybody, especially Bethesda. :dead:

People do seem to be completely ignoring that despite it being pretty solid evidence of a near release.

I don't see how Bethesda releasing a test DLC for Skyrim the day after the exclusivity period ends for Dawnguard is "speculative evidence".

Soon?
And it isn't really speculative. It guarantees Valve is preparing a DLC for Skyrim. You are welcome to come up with wild theories as to what that is, but I'll stick with Dawnguard.

The problem there is that for Bethesda, a "near release" could mean "maybe by September if you're lucky".

Example? Only one I can think of is FO3's DLC for PS3. Even so, they never said it would be 'soon' when asked months prior.

Of course. But you don't submit a test DLC to Valve on the Steam Registry if you're planning a September/October release. I genuinely think that the PR here (wording of Pete Hines tweet, for example) is just bad.

Now that makes sense. The part about them having terrible PR, anyway.

Like mentioned, Pete Hines tweet was just really, really, REALLY badly worded. So bad in fact that I'm really wondering why he's even got that position at the moment.

To not release the DLC on the PC or PS3 would be a commercial and PR disaster. Plus the evidence we've seen on Steam means it will be coming out. When? No idea. But it will.
