PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 16

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 3:43 am

No offense man, but no amount of circumstantial speculative evidence from "believers" is gonna equate an official announcement from Bethesda!
Personaly, I do believe it's coming, the real question is: When?!
The lack of communication from Bethesda, is brewing trouble for everybody, especially Bethesda. :dead:

I never said it was gonna "make Bethesda announce something".

I said it's solid evidence to all the people shouting and screaming; "WE AREN'T GETTING DG ON PC".

All possibilities that it is some kind of *Different* DLC are eliminated by the fact that the DLC was uploaded on the 27nd (The coincidence would simply be abnormally huge).

Let's look at the possible reasons why there would be no news. There could really be no news, which means everyone at Bethesda has been being paid to play solitaire since June (they'd play their games but they're just too buggy). Or the only news is of further Bethesda incompetence (oh the PS3 code is so harrd for no one but them...) and lack of value for their customers. Either way, is this really a company we should support? Maybe it's time to give another open-ended RPG a chance, and then Bethesda can have all their games EXCLUSIVELY for themselves.

And if Bethesda gives a date then misses it for some reason, people post dozens of threads in all caps ranting about how Beth lied, they hate the [insert platform of your choice] players, and generally managing to be disruptive to the forums, to say the least. My personal preference is that they don't announce a date until they know for sure they will make the date. Considering the statement regarding the timed exclusive, and the fact that no one official has announced that Dawnguard will *not* be released for pc and ps3, I'm content to wait. In the absolute worst case scenario I wait until the compiled goty type edition is released, and I buy it then. Do I want it? Yes. But I'm content to wait.

How about something like this:

It's coming to (insert platform), but we don't have an exact date. We care about our customers, and want to deliver a more polished port to (insert platform).
A rough estimate is (next month(s), years end, next year, etc.)..

It's not rocket science, just basic, honest communication with customers. :goodjob:

I agree. It wouldn't stop the nerdrage, but I do agree.

now id like to point out that they never said that it was comming to pc and ps3...

They never needed to; the 30 day exclusivity period kinda implies that it's not a single platform release in itself. Unless they were planning to release it for the megadrive? ;)

Actually, with a lot of the complaints being made, an announcement like that would settle a *looot* of the angst in these threads. Just sayin. But yeah. Why can't Bethesda make a statement like that instead of "Oh we'll give you news eventually."?

It's hardly speculative...

As I said before, I personally believe it's real, but many people will question end/or ignore unofficial evidence, as something similar to a UFO sighting, or a conspiracy theory...

That and well, it would be really weird to do. They haven't had enough time, given DGs dev time, to make a new big DLC, and aside from the High-Res pack (which was DLC BECAUSE it was High Res and some PCs can't handle it) all "small DLCs" or features have been done via patches (new water, killcams, mounted combat. Those amount to more than Horse Armour did).

I would like to again point out to some of you doubters the fact that there is a "Dawnguard Quests Completed " line in the general stats section of the pause menu. It's coming.

Not as of the 1.7 patch, rather ironically. But I still completely agree :P

Well said!

Greed (the MS deal) and customer care seldom goes hand in hand. However greed and badwill creation often does. Pity, but Bethesda have only themselves to blame.

It's not unofficial though.

My point is: To dispel all doubts, Bethesda has to say the actual words, in an official statement; because, well, unofficial is just... not official (not fully believable to many).

To not release the DLC on the PC or PS3 would be a commercial and PR disaster. Plus the evidence we've seen on Steam means it will be coming out.

Not to metion the the notes for the latest patch which show a Dawnguard fix that is not for XBox.

I absolutely love how Bethsda has released Dawnguard only on the Xbox 360. It makes total sense that a game that was released on PC, Xbox, and PS3 receive the associated DLC on only the Xbox. All of the Skyrim owners that play using a PC or PS3 should be joyfully content that Xbox receive DLC only. As a business, Bethesda sure knows how to make consumers happy and create content for all to enjoy. Sign....."sarcasm ends"

Apparently the moderators think this is the forum for suggesting people not buy anything form Bethesda until the scrap this timed exclusivity nonsense and learn to make games that work the first time. So here's my suggestion:

In a capitalist market, the only thing companies understand is money. So withhold your money from them until they start behaving the way you want them to, or someone else does in which event you give Bethesda's old business to them. Angry posts on forums, angry emails to companies, that doesn't matter. All that matters is that when they do get around to releasing their game, we all say "too little, too late" and they either get their business straight or fade away to a better company.
