PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 17

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 8:49 am

Now that we have 1.7 on PC they should release the DLC soon, I see no reason why PC gamers should have to wait alongside PS3.

They said the 1.7 update was being sent to Sony for testing this week, that means at LEAST 2 weeks waiting for Sony QA to pass it, usually.

Here is some advice to everyone next time a game developer like Bethesda says game or dlc will be Exclusive for 30days to said system. Look at everything beyond that 30days as giant void that needs to be filled and its the companies job to fill it not yours!! In the end Bethesda did not filll the void after announcing the 30 exclusive for Xbox, we fans filled that void.

"moderators on this forum thought" That's the key line in that statement right there moderators did what most people have done thought which is the same as assuming...now tell me does Bethesda control your mind no you do.
I admit I thought Dawnguard was coming out after the exclusive but not everyone (me included)read the forums and announcements, the commercials and advertisemants are misleading. the ad didn't say Dawnguard coming soon xbox 30 day exclusive with the release of PC/PS3 anytime after that. the announcements were more detailed then the ads. that is why the term if it aint broke don't fix it applies here if they had just said timed exclusive Bethesda wouldn't have to worry about details so much

I tend not to trust commercials and advertisemants, but information I find on a companies webpage or in the more reliable game magazines.

Maybe Steam will magically update tomorrow (As i hear, it does update on Tuesdays so it would seem most convenient).

They're communicating constantly with us - what you're asking for is communicate about something that isn't even out yet or planned to being shared- its impossible

One step at once, patch 1.7,verification from sony and then probably an announce with release date for ps3 and pc

I haven't misunderstood, just try to understand even my point
I never asked them to give me a release date Im fine with Bethesda and agree we should not be jumping down their throats the exclusive just ended, and we should give them time to release info. in fact I think they are prompt and are releasing info in a timely fashion I have no reason to complain about them before was just a missunderstanding between me and Frank white

It does make me wonder how much money Microsoft would have to pay to get exclusivity. The longer Bethesda waits to release DG on all platforms, the more casual players will sell off their games.

It's a huge sacrifice in potential PS3 sales and obviously a aggravation for PC users (who never had to wait for DLC in the past, and aren't really competition for the 360 due to the large difference in Skyrim's quality between systems). The details of these inside deals must be extremely interesting.

Doubt it.
Then again, they DID say a couple of weeks for 1.7, but its been less than a week.

My Skyrim just updated to 1.7.70. I'm assuming this is a good sign towards the release of Dawnguard =P. I suppose that one has to consider the fact that not only do we have to get a Dawnguard compatiable releaes for PC, but we also have to have a compatiable Creation kit that has been modified from theirs =P.

Well skyrim just auto updated on steam for me. Not sure what was downloaded though. Since I didnt opt into the beta... *shrugs*

I'd say its looking not unreasonable to think tomorrow will be the release day for pc users.. failing that next tuesday at the latest.

Wasn't Pete Hines, it was GStaff;

Our current plan is to submit the title update to console manufacturers this week. We'll let you know when it's available on PSN and Xbox LIVE.

I don't think many people have a problem with it not being exactly after 30 days. It's not that big of a deal.

It's just people don't appreciate having the rug pulled from under them. Especially from the (easily misinterpted) inference of a 30 day exclusive. That's why they are all emotional and angry. If they simply said: "maybe in a month or two", there would be less butthurt. It's just being straight, and most people are reasonable enough to understand. No one is asking you to push the deadline. It wouldn't hurt to show some decorum and respect, especially when you demand it out of posters/gamers here.
