PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 17

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 8:39 am

It will download if you start up steam, then from in game, press ESC to get to the menu, at the bottom left corner it will list the build version.
I can confirm this as well. Going in-game, it says 1.7.7.0.6. for me too.

Well, you're right, in game lists 1.7. Strange how there was no announcement or indication of announcement this soon.

IIRC there wasn't an announcement for 1.6 either.

I think you both missed the point of his comment. First world problems, eh?

The standards people expect are for the most part subjective. I don't think waiting mere days for news is anything to be up in arms about, especially when it comes to news about when a DLC will be available to a platform.
I am not talking about Bethesda or this situation, im talking about games in general. games are a commodity just like food and gas. if compare everything to global importance of course global importantance is more well important. frank didn't just say that we don't hav the right to complain aout this Bethesda Dawnguard situation but he said all game related issues does not give us the right to complain tht is not true.

They basically did say that. They said the Xbox 360 got a 30 day exclusive. They did not say that the PC/PS3 versions would be released immediately after, therefore, we can know that they meant it would be released at a later, undetermined date.

I'm sorry this is off topic, but I have to say I like your birthdate :P

But entertainment is not something you are entitled to. I'm using Bethesda as an example because it is relevant, I have seen you voice your concerns of this topic in another thread. Food is something you need not something you want. It could be argued that gas is a need in this day and age too. It's absurd to compare a video game to these.

Like I said, I think you are both missing the point. He was talking about entertainment in general. He never said that you don't have a right to complain about specific things like false advertising.

If you don't have enough food your last problem would be writing on a forum such things, believe me

The mistake you and others made is comparing a videogame with primary needs like food or gas...and for me its disturbing at best.

Gsterman : it means that patch 1.7 is out for pc,nothing more

Actually entitlement plays a major part. Quite a few people were even demanding that the DLC be made free due to their 'suffering'.

Heh, whilst I do agree with what you say, that notorious tweet (we haven't announced plans for a release...) was quite badly worded.

He should have said "we are working on bringing it to both platforms, but have no current timeframe for a release." I fail to see any reason why some knob in a suit would gag him from a statement like that.

Then again, who knows whats going on behind the scenes eh?

I agree food and gas is more important but if a company does not communicate for an unreasonable amount of time we are entitled to complain(not saying Bethesda is doing that just example). in all industries an unreasonable amount of time is different for each industry, (example) fast food, a half hour is an unreasonable amount of time to wait especially without communication. the same applies to the gaming industry but obviously a different time frame a months of silence is not good and ppl have the right to complain

but in gaming community 30 day exclusive means just what it says nothing more they could have said timed exclusive like many games and dlc's in the past but didn't they should have never let that slip.

Its mistake to think that all things will follow a set pattern, You assumed things would work like they have in the past. That's your mistake not Bethesda's they never said after 30days they would release DG for pc/ps3 or give a release date. Why people cast off the part that Beth said nothing about a PC/PS3 version release when they announced the xbox version I will never understand...

Well, at least Patch 1.7 for PS3 users is on the way...

For those on consoles, the title update is planned to be submitted to console manufacturers this week. We'll let you know when it's available on PSN and Xbox LIVE.

No, food is a necessity, games are a luxury. Two very different things.

Looking back, I think it was worded fine. They are yet to announce plans for a release for other platforms, he was just stating fact. People put their own meaning on it, that's what caused the confusion.
