PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 19

I just found this, not sure how new it is, but it looks like Dawnguard achievements are up on Steam, obviously these are achievements so they might be spoilery, http://i.imgur.com/cADft.png

And nobody noticed me finding crossbow animations in the Creation Kit.

That was noticed months ago. After patch 1.5 or 1.6 don't remember which.

i have stayed clear of the forums for a while, its mostly moaning and i dont care for that.

when the game went from beta to live on 360 alot of the things beta testers reported were not fixed, in fact i dont think a single thing changed, my asumption?

-DG was launched on 360 with no fixes.

-Patch 1.7 will fix alot of the problems with DG, and is still being worked on.

-PC and PS3 version of DG will launch with patch 1.7, so less bugs then 360 had.

so i think once the patch is done it will be released. I also think that for once the idea of "they get the bugs so ours will be smoother" is actaully true.

be patient, stop yelling, calm down. -Law
Well Patch 1.7 already went live on PC, so you can rule that one out for now. PS3 will probably get Patch 1.7 sometime in the next week or so. PC usually gets the patches about one or two weeks before everyone else. Dawnguard will likely not release for PS3 until Patch 1.7 does for that platform, though, so I think everyone who believes in that logic is probably correct.

He said they would have something to say later this week, so yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if it's announced at Quakecon. Is there somewhere online to watch it live?
Well he said the announcement would not be in the form of a tweet, so it might get announced there. Don't take my word for it, though.

Actually he said that it wouldn't be a response to a tweet. In other words he wants people to stop bugging him on twitter.

Ahh the price of being able to use/make mods...Being left out in the cold waiting for new official mods.
Oh well, I've dutifully bought everything Bethesda has released since Morrowind, and I don't plan to stop now. Though, with Planetside 2's beta so close aswell...Unless Dawnguard hurries up, I will most likely be too occupied to care until it gets a discount on Steam. Sure enough, Bethesda will get my money as they always do for their amazing games, but interest has gone down enough for another to take its spot in the 'cash priority' line.

All the moaning about paying $20 for Dawnguard, you had to pay $40 for something the size of Shivering Isles there would still be a lot who would not be happy. The bigger it is the more you pay for it.

Totaly agree if Bethesda want to have "positive karma" and fans of Elder scrolls saga to buy Elder Scrolls Online. They should not treat us like second category players - im ok with 30 days of exclusivity X360 but in 31 day Dawnguard shuld be released for PC/PS3. Remember Bethesda we are watching you. How you treat us and in future we will remember before we will buy any of your game.

And for a company who really wanted to put the horse armor DLC from Oblivion fiasco behind them, I'm starting to think this has eclipsed that by far. This is worse than that because horse armor was a meh plugin that most people didn't want that was over priced, and Dawnguard is something a lot of people want yet cannot have. So this in my opinion is way worse because more people are upset.

I wanted horse armor, but I wanted horse ARMOR. :P What I got was horse dressing.

It will be interesting to see in the future what this whole event does. I don't see it hurting Bethesda but just what affect it has if any will be interesting to see. Consider if horse armor was the cause of Bethesda saying how the dlc's for Skyrim will be larger and more involved.

The coolest thing would be that Todd comes out on stage and announces DG for PC as this Friday.

This is worse than horse armor. Bethesda has chosen to sell out 2 thirds of it's customer base and they don't even care how much they piss people off. Not only with DG mind you, they plan to actually do this again with the next dlc aswell. I didn't think it was possible, but Bethesda has officially done something worse than horse armor.

Well at least now we are prepared for it.
So if people freak out when the next DLC launches like this I'd use the saying:
"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me"

It isn't exactly two thirds. The majority of Skyrim's playerbase is on the XBox, so...
And it's not that bad, really. Just fill in the wait with other games. I fill mine with Mass Effect's multiplayer and D3

It seems unfortunately you are right. I didn't realize almost 60% of their user base was 360. No wonder they did this it all makes a ton of sense now. Anyway I think we'll probably see Dawnguard next week.

You know the PC market would become more mainstream if it wasn't for developers pulling this crap... that and the developers that refuse to make games on the PC because they think everyone is a pirate. As much as people complain about Steam, downloading is the way of the future and the Xbox marketplace isn't moving quick enough towards that same level. What's the point in going to the store to buy a game anymore when you can download it 8 hours before release and play it at 12:01? There is none and the only reason why physical copies still exist is because of the console market. It is very rare to see a PC gamer go to a midnight launch unless it's for a collectors edition.

That website is depressing. Just type "Skyrim" in the search bar and you should come up with the top sold games for X-box and PS3. Check out which games dominate the top of the lists....

40% of 10 million is still one hell of a lot of user base to alienate though.

Didn't people already refute that site's accuracy? I'm pretty sure people brought up it doesn't take into account downloads off of Steam, and thus isn't really reliable at looking at judging PC sales figures.

Certainly looks like it could be a possibility, considering they have top sales lists for X-box and PS3, but no such list for PC.

I'm pretty sure that doesn't include Steam sales, because Skyrim has been in the top 10 best selling games since launch to this day on Steam.

No idea where they got those numbers from. The PC version sold 1.2 million copies (non-digital) in Europe alone.

/edit: Checking some numbers a bit further, it's no wonder I'm so flabbergasted by this console-favoritism. In Germany, the PC version sold over 500k copies and made up 50% of sales - not even including digital sales, once again. That constitutes about 23% of all PC sales worldwide. I guess we just don't like consoles. You're welcome, PC players! http://www.vgchartz.com/game/49111/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/Germany/

I've also heard Valve make a statement that Skyrim was the fastest selling game in Steam's history. Any sales stats that exclude digital sales (all of them) are hugely inaccurate when it comes to PC figures, and especially so in the case of Skyrim.

Pretty sure it's already been pointed out, but Beth are at Quakecon this week so it's highly likely we will have an announcement - they did say we would have more info this week.

I have been a fan of the Elder scrolls for many years.
I believe that some of the people who made Morrowind and Oblivion also made Skyrim, and can see a huge improvement in the graphics whilst lamenting the simplification of the Lore and game mechanics.
I am also a level 1 female Dunmer who cant wait for a certain DLC that will make me want to return to my homeland!
I realise his will be years if not decades from now, but I am stil patient!
