PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 19

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 7:40 am

Is it really? Link source please.

If this is true I'm completely done with this game.

Wow it really is true. Screw you Bethesda I'm done. Uninstall game. Seriously this is complete [censored].
It's not that big of a deal anymore. I freaked out a bit at the start because we heard nothing, the along with a generic "we have not announced availability" message I didn't know what was being pulled. But now we have a message of news this week, plus 1.7 being released, plus the TestApp on Steam, things are looking good. I have no doubt the second DLC will follow the same pattern, if not better.

I don't suppose they are that fussed.
It occasionally seems that the people on these forums think that they are the only ones playing the game. For every 1 person who throws all their toys about and jumps up and down on them there are probably 2 or 3 others who'll just buy it anyway and have no particular axe to grind either way, and aren't even on these forums...

I think that the proportion is at least 100:1 honestly - not all are affected from the internet/gaming addiction - at least i hope it

Yeah, but you get what I'm saying.
The total number of people on this forum is not even close to the total number of people who own the game, but I get the impression sometimes that they think that they are the be all and the end all, rather than actually being at best a vocal minority.

Yeah. Thirty days, three minutes. I can see the similarity.
I can wait for the standing time after my micro meal is cooked, but it has the decency to announce that the cooking is over and I am now on standing time.
Indeed, it announces it When It's Over. Similarly Dawnguard will be announced When It's Out.

Yeah and I posted basically this both several threads ago, and before the exclusivity contract expired. Plus I don't follow these threads because it is just the same crap over and over again.

Missing the point of that picture.
And Dawnguard will be announced too. The 30 days wasn't an indicator of release, it was a set period where the other platforms would have no chance of being getting the DLC.

OMFG Seriously No official announcement? I mean I already know the release date but come on seriously make a announcement Gstaff come on! Its Wednesday, League is updating/patching (which they announce they will be doing and have a forum with updates..) and Minecraft just released a MAJOR update to 1.3. So congrats you have prolonged any satisfying announcement for everyone here crying/begging to you (including myself) and waited long enough for two games I love to update with new stuff, Darksiders 2 is out the 14th and in a month borderlands 2 is out, new counter strike coming out the 21st, Darksouls prepare to die edition out the 24th. I mean really if this is some sort of gimmick like that episode of south park to just make people want it more, probs not gana work to well, I dont just have 200$ to spend on video games, I got to pick and choose, I really want to give you my money, and if that gamehos website with the preorder for the 8/17/12 is correct and its coming out for my PS3 at that same date as well then ill be buying, but however if it is incorrect I wont because theres other stuff I want and if your not going to at least tell me a legit announcement and tell me "well have news soon" one more time it wont happen. So do me and everyone a favor and please give some decent news. Thank you!

The reason it wasn't released yesterday on PC is because they don't want to make PS3 feel even more left out. Its probably already ready on PC. At least, that's my opinion. And if you didn't know, for PS3 1.6 is rolled into 1.7. Dunno about PC though. Did you even get 1.6. I'm a PS3 player  I don't mind waiting. I knew about the 30 day exclusive so I had to deal with that. I dont see why you guys are b**ching about having to wait another 5 days so far...
ur right there is no reason to complain about release date, and they have been communicating, but most are mad because of the missleading ads and spots(that did not mention it will release for PC/PS3 anytime after exclusive it just said 30 day exclusive) for me I forgive them but I just want garantee the ads will be as detailed as announcements from now on.

*is a PC gamer, will still be getting Dawnguard when it comes out* The 30-day exclusive didn't bother me so much...it's the lack of a PC/PS3 release date. D: Just wish the news they'd promised 'this week' will include a release date. Still pessimistic about it being so, though. :/ "Plan for the worst and hope for the best."

This^^^ Beth never said or implied that dawnguard would be out right after the "30 day exclusive"....ppl just assumed it would be
there are ads and spots tht just say 30 day exclusive I personally never came to forum until the july 27 to find out why it delayed then I saw the actual announcements which cleared things up for me, most ppl did the same u hav to understand the spots and ads weren't as detailed as actual announcement

Aaaaannnd time for this thread to take a break. I am closing it for a bit. Probably will clean out the more egregiously spammy, off-topic or rule-breaking posts.

I'll re-open it in a few hours, as I am having lunch and the lot of you need to, once again, take a break from your rather directionless repetitive churning.

So here's the deal.

For those of you frustrated and impatient about the situation: We've been letting this thread run, because people feel a need to vent their frustration about not yet getting the DLC. We get that. It makes some people feel better to drop in and say they won't purchase it, because the developer has made them wait for information. It makes some people feel better just to say "I really want this, like, yesterday... come on already". We even understand the conspiracy theorist or random assumptions some people make based on their interpretation of an ad, a tweet, a blog post, a post in some other random forum. It's all speculation, people can air their gripes as long as they abide by forum rules. That's the nature of the internet and the nature of gaming forums. However, if you find yourself repeatedly posting in this thread, paraphrasing yourself or getting mad just because someone disagrees with your position, I suggest you take a break, go find other topics that interest you.

For those of you who are patient and just kind of mentally shrugging about not hearing anything yet: then you really don't need to keep coming into this thread to try and "calm the waters". Sure, you are as welcome as anyone to state your point of view - lord knows I've done it a couple times in the 19 thread sequence. But no need to try and rebut those posters who aren't really interested in doing anything but venting their frustration. It's not an "argument" anyone is going to "win". From experience with other hot button forums and issues here in the past, people that are irritated won't be less irritated because you aren't worked up over waiting on DLC info.

So... be civil to each other. Stop posting if you find yourself getting wound up. If you find yourself moved to repeatedly spam this thread with five word posts about how annoyed you are, then you will end up with a warning. And please don't resort to posting internet meme pix or similar to state your point of view or as a rebuttal to a poster you disagree with. That's spam too. Even if they are occasionally funny.

Thanks for the impartial clean up.

As for the random speculation, could Bethesda please just come forward with some form of announcement and just put an end to it please.
All everyone in here is asking, in their own way, is to be treated fairly.

So Bethesda, as you can see, not telling us anything has kind of turned things to rat[censored].
What is the worse thing that could happen by telling us the truth, another 20 threads of rambling and raging, which by my last reckoning is going to happen anyway.
And for the love of god, learn from this PR mistake and don't let it happen again.
Nip it in the bud before the townsfolk are knocking on your door with their pitchforks.

Just wanted to make this one statement, then I'm gone.

Someone has to stand up and fight for the things you get sit back and wait for, otherwise nothing would be done. Ever.

I dunno if you've noticed but I'm regularly in the Skyrim forums to say the game svcks and Bethesda needs to aim for more FO3/FO:NV quality for FO4 or TES6, so much so that a lot of people call me very mean names that make me sadface. :C You're kinda preaching to the choir here with the speech about voicing criticism to bring about change.

Thing is though, communication has been an issue for ages. Hell, I still feel sorry for Jason Bergman over at the FO:NV forums, who in my opinion, handled communication CORRECTLY and still got criticized for it. Bergman was very vocal and spoke with the fans all the time, feeding us as much info as possible and trying to give us estimates on release dates. Thing is though, since he was trying so hard to give up-to-date info, the release dates got changed, and sure enough once they got changed and a DLC was delayed, people were mad as hell at him for giving them a date that wasn't accurate and wasn't set in stone.

The thing about this complaint is that it's too-little, too-late. This has been an issue for a long time, and the Jason Bergman issue basically showed me that people would still complain if they had info and more importantly, even if Bethesda WERE to listen to you now, they'd one day feed you a false release date, correct it, and then another group of disgruntled fans would rant and complain and encourage them to go back to doing it like how they're doing it now. (which is exactly what happened with Bergman) Finally, go watch Todd's E3 Dawnguard interview. Wait for his answer about when Dawnguard will be released for PC and PS3. Does that sound like a man that honestly gives a damn? Sure as hell doesn't sound like it to me.

Sometimes a lost cause is just a lost cause, yknow? Hell, my constant complaints that Bethesda needs to hire a damned writer may be a lost cause too. The difference? I go around telling people to try a game with, imo, better writing, in attempt to encourage more fans to have higher expectations so they too are voicing criticism, to the point where a good storyline HOPEFULLY becomes demanded enough that Bethesda listens. What you guys are doing here, Bergman already basically heard your argument out and he still ran into trouble and this is such a short-term issue that it's not gonna grasp Bethesda's attention to the point of hearing you out.

Finally, and most importantly:

Let's be honest. The moment the DLC is released, you all are gonna go buy it ASAP, anxiously throwing money at the screen to get the new content. The fact that you all invest so much time into waiting for new info basically guarentees it. Despite all this "disrespect" you claim you've been dealt with, you're all gonna go buy it. In that sense, I don't think you're TRULY willing to commit to the cause but rather you're presenting a half-hearted effort where you do one thing and say another, and thus Bethesda will NEVER consider the complaints in this thread as they don't effect sales. Simple as that really.

Having said that, you might as well forget the DLC exists. Why?

1) You'll get your mind off it and stop torturing yourself.
2) You might actually forget it and never purchase it, thus actually producing results that encourage Bethesda not to pull this [censored] again.
3) This cause is hopeless.

I mean what could it hurt? I say all this because I truly believe you guys are just kinda torturing yourselves by pushing it this far. Forgetting the DLC seems beneficial to your cause AND easier on you.

Just my two cents.

Just for clarification - Moderators are just members (with a few extra buttons for managing the forums, as Ro likes to say) - we don't get inside information from Bethesda prior to you guys. We get told stuff when a blog post or something goes up publically.

The lack of information in general for something we all know will be released on both the PC & PS3 has been... Irritating. With that said, I'll buy it once it's out because I love Bethesdas games (despite the querks) and I greately appreciate there buisness model of not nickel & diming there customers with a ton of pre-order exclusives. Not to mention minor DLC's that are rediculously overpriced, or released on launch day.

I dunno if you've noticed but I'm regularly in the Skyrim forums to say the game svcks and Bethesda needs to aim for more FO3/FO:NV quality for FO4 or TES6.

Given what you've said that, you might as well forget the game (Skyrim) exists. Why?

1) You'll get your mind off it and stop torturing yourself.
2) You might actually forget it, move on with your life, and stop bothering other people with your "cause". and never purchase another Bethesda game.
3) Your cause is hopeless.

In that case I salute sir.
I am still at the stage of never accepting a lost cause, maybe the constant fight for change you engaged in has tired you out from it all.
Or more likely you are at a different place now personally than myself and I will one day see things as you do now. After all, I woke up one day and thought to myself "[censored], my dad was right".

And I have admitted I will buy it in the other "Will you buy it" thread, I have also voiced that it is a shame we can't get it from another company though as it all has left me a very dissatisfied customer.
I play very few other games, most things upcoming or out don't take my fancy either, some I have actually had the gall to really boycott as I find the company practices or artwork direction in one case not to my liking.
Why I find it so hard to move on as I am sitting here bored out of my tiny skull awaiting a toy that has well and truly been worn out by the rich kids who got it first.
Can I haz my hand-me-down now please?
