PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 19

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 12:18 am

The reason it wasn't released yesterday on PC is because they don't want to make PS3 feel even more left out. Its probably already ready on PC. At least, that's my opinion. And if you didn't know, for PS3 1.6 is rolled into 1.7. Dunno about PC though. Did you even get 1.6. I'm a PS3 player  I don't mind waiting. I knew about the 30 day exclusive so I had to deal with that. I dont see why you guys are b**ching about having to wait another 5 days so far...
i highly doubt that, and i don't think they care if one platform feels left out. PC got 1.6 and already have 1.7

sigh never mind sense you dont see it you can just wait till it comes out
No need to sigh...the only thing to get, is that there is no need for a "porting" of anything to the PC. It is already set up for that platform, as it was made on that platform.

What does waiting have to do with anything? I can wait. Hell, we all HAVE to wait. That still has nothing to do with making compatible files for the PS3...or the Xbox, for that matter. And neither has anything to with the release being delayed.

I give you these...
They made the game with a PC, and from this they port the working copy they have on the PC over to x-box or Playstation.
All Skyrim's content was created on PC first, THEN ported over to console, so the conversion process is a moot<(fixed) point as they need only return to their original files.
The code haven't really changed though, besides adding some achievement, various minor stuff and bug fixes with the 1.6 patch (and soon more bugfixes with the 1.7 patch).

At heart Dawnguard was made by using the http://www.creationkit.com/ like any fanmade mod out there, and then 3DS MAX for new models and Photoshop for textures.

Hope this helped.

------------------------------------------------------------------

My guess? They are holding DG to avoid shadowing the Dishonored release(damn good game mind you, suits my playstyle perfectly) AND due anti-piracy actions, they are probably working hard to armor it against quick crack(just to ruin those boycott sympathizers that just aren't patients enough to wait even more 2 days after the PC release for a good cracked version).
It looks great. It fit's my playstyle as well, but not my perspective. I'm a 3rdP player. However, I feel Dawnguard is just in delay from bug fixing issues.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

i have stayed clear of the forums for a while, its mostly moaning and i dont care for that.

when the game went from beta to live on 360 alot of the things beta testers reported were not fixed, in fact i dont think a single thing changed, my asumption?

-DG was launched on 360 with no fixes.

-Patch 1.7 will fix alot of the problems with DG, and is still being worked on.

-PC and PS3 version of DG will launch with patch 1.7, so less bugs then 360 had.

so i think once the patch is done it will be released. I also think that for once the idea of "they get the bugs so ours will be smoother" is actaully true.

be patient, stop yelling, calm down. -Law
Wel, if it isn't The Law! :batman: Great to have you back! And I feel this way also. If we shall be forced to wait a little longer to ensure a mare stable product, then so be it. I look at it like another 30 day Beta. I hope these issues, as well as the ones we posted in the prerelease Beta, are being addressed.

Waiting is a welcomed grace for stability.

If these issues are not addressed before releasing to the other two platforms, then imagine the backlash for "rushing" the product just to appease the masses and nab the quick buck.

Beth is in a catch 22. They get flack if they release a product early and buggy..or get flack for forcing the fans to wait for a more stable product. If in that situation, I would choose the lesser of two evils and go with the former <(oops! fixed) latter.

This is the biggest load of garbage I've ever seen a developer pull.

My money is on a 30 day timed exclusive to some other game once this is released for pc/ps3. More people need to vote with their wallet and stop letting these companies walk all over them.

Too much threads... too little information... And that`s all for too overrated DLC.

Thing is: Almost all flak could be avoided if Bethesda would just keep their customers informed. But nooo. As it stands now we don't even know for sure IF DG will be released for PC/PS3.

Information vacuum breeds speculation. Perhaps Bethesda sees this as a PR-boost? If so - fools!

We know that DG will be released for PC/PS3, we've known for a while now;

The Steam CDR database lists DLC for Skyrim, the 1.6 patch included Dawnguard files to do with crossbows, vampire animations and
Spoiler
snow elves

1.7 fixes Dawnguard bugs like Vampiric grip for all platforms not just Xbox 360, even the fact that it was listed as a timed exclusive in the first place. The same thing happened with FO:NV.

It's not if, just a question of when, and that is what we are hopefully getting the answer to this week.

I know, and I too beleive that DG will be out on PC/PS3. It's just that the last official comment is this http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1398818-inquiries-re-dawnguard-release/ .

Well it is right, they haven't announced plans to do with Dawnguard for other platforms. I think it would have been better if they hadn't said anything at all though, so many people didn't take that quote as it is. Pete Hines or Gstaff (can't remember which) said info about Dawnguard is coming this week, and Gstaff said that the 1.7 patch for consoles is being submitted this week too. Don't worry, it's coming to other platforms. Bethesda would be committing financial suicide if it didn't and they know it. Imagine the rage from fans... it's bad enough as it is.

Or they could have just given us a release date or even an ETA. Instead, they do nothing but cause more confusion. As I said, 30 days + however long this takes to actually release. I'm adding this to how long until I actually purchase the dlc. Bethesda wants to play stupid games with their customers, fine. My money can have a timed exclusive too.

Which they are, this week. It's not a 'stupid game', it's called business. I really can't see why this of all things is getting hate, 30 days is nothing. I think the problem stems from people putting their own meaning on what that timed exclusivity thing would entail.

I agree, completely. A little insight to the intent would be a welcomed gesture of good faith.

I think that we can safely assume that there will be a release. I can't see any reason NOT to.

One can be patient, optimistic and anxious at the same time. This is where I'm at. I would welcome any news, just as much as the next guy person.

Meh. They can release it whenever they release it. I'm going to wait for the next Steam sale to buy it anyway.

Hilarious.

And just in case you're not trolling- Bethesda's not even working on the MMO, Zenimax Online is, and they announced a long time ago that it's PC only. Which is funny, since it seems like most of the people who want multiplayer are the console gamers.

This seems perfect. I too will wait until I can get it on sale on Steam. They want to play stupid games with us then fine. I'll wait until it's 75% off on steam and buy it then. There's my timed exclusive cash at work.

Hilarious.

It's because everything has to be an mmo now. Blizzard made a boat load on World of Warcraft and ever since everything released has to be an mmo, or have multiplayer, or whatever these morons with suits on think will make them as much money as possible. Spoiler alert: ESO is going to FAIL just like every other mmo released in the past 7 years.

Is it really so much to ask for someone to develop a quality mmo without constantly dreaming of dollar signs? You want to know why every single mmo released since WoW has absolutley failed? It's because they didn't care about quality. Tor had so much potential. EA completely ruined it by rushing it out the door. Now EA can't figure out why Tortanic is sinking. It amazes me how stupid these business people really are. Stop trying to scam people out of their money and maybe your game wouldn't svck?

only thing Im still upset about is the missleading ads I will still buy Dawnguard but I will request tht Bethesda gurantee it won't happen again, that is all

It will most probably happen again seeing as the next DLC pack will also be Xbox exclusive for 30 days, unless Bethesda has learned from this flop and actually release the DLC after 30 days.

And i don't really care about it, i have Skyrim on Xbox, PS3 and PC.

You can make it a statement if you want, I can't be bothered. I don't care about the timed exclusive; I was expecting it, and don't expect a corporation to turn down a large wad of cash. I was planning on waiting since last winter when I got the last three New Vegas DLC for less than the cost of one at full price.

sad i know but thats how corps see us as they see us as a dollar signs nothing more but nothing less in the beginning they did but once you get big the less you care it seems to most (MOST) developers

Just think if microsoft would have offered x millions to have unlimited exclusivity on the first two dlcs and at bethesda were "so stupid" to refuse only to please all their fans on other platforms - or simply because that offer doesn't match their standards

They've already enough money i suppose, but just don't want to preclude anyone from playin' all the dlcs for skyrim, this is a concrete and admirable choice

Perhaps they was thinking "well,it wouldn't be a problem for our beloved pc/ps3 fans wait few months- and in the meantime we could make even more dollars" - i'm wondering what they're thinking now

I don't suppose they are that fussed.
It occasionally seems that the people on these forums think that they are the only ones playing the game. For every 1 person who throws all their toys about and jumps up and down on them there are probably 2 or 3 others who'll just buy it anyway and have no particular axe to grind either way, and aren't even on these forums...
