They also said that the two versions had achieved a level of parity. Obviously that wasn't the case.

Didn't they say that before Skyrim was even released? Which is actually worse.

Also, it isn't so much of a hardware issue as it is not tackling the hardware appropriately. I'm not tech savvy, but I hear the architecture of the consoles are very different from one another. Skyrim was ported over to the PS3 without them doing significant overhaul to ensure it would run properly. This is akin to taking a locomotive and placing it on the interstate, and expecting it to run just as well as it would if it was on the tracks it was designed for.

Like I said, debatable. Someone from Obsidian (forgot the name) explained what he thought the reason for the PS3's poor performance was - he had worked on FO:NV as well, if I remember correctly. It was something to do with the way the consoles handle memory, i'll try find it.

If they don't they will get big competition... vs maybe bigger games like battlefield or what so ever

Source to where bethesda outright said that.

Found one from Todd Howard.

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/02/16/bethesda-knew-about-ps3-skyrim-issues.aspx

Also, for that other guy, I found out who the Obsidian employee was - Josh Sawyer.

http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1213924p1.html

From what i've read, Bethesda tried refuting his claims by saying that they had fixed the lag long ago, lol....

is there any chance that the PC version will be a bit less then the 360 version regarding money?

Like Skyrim is 50 $ on the PC and 60 $ on the Xbox?

Would be awesome and encourage me to buy it ASAP!

Skyrim is $59.99 on PC just like the console versions, but the PC version is on sale on Steam today for $29.99 because of QUAKECON, though.

According to the QuakeCon schedule Todd Howard is on stage tomorrow.

http://www.playerattack.com/news/2012/07/24/quakecon-2012-schedule-released/

Which means that for me in the german timezone there should be an announcenment at around 6-7 p.m.

The Bethblog twitter says they're giving an update on dawnguard today or tomorrow. So we can expect release to come most likely this Tuesday.

That's in bethesda time, in real time, probably September.

In all seriousness now, only listen to the first line of my post.

I laughed, and September would not suprise any more then it releasing this Tuesday on steam.

Am I the only one whose thing he wants to hear the most (maybe apart from the release date) is a simple "Sorry for the inexcusable delay, it won't happen again with future DLC's"?

They could have released it today or tomorrow but since they didn't specify when they would be sharing details I'm leaning more towards a Tuesday release if ever.

Yes, I even tweeted them about that,

They don't need to apologies, they will look worse if they did, it would be better for them if they didn't say anything about it. Even though it is a very wide spread issue
