People spelling names wrong

Post » Thu Jun 30, 2011 3:24 am

You think spelling your name wrong is bad?

Only my family (including some cousins, aunties and uncles, and my mum) have ever pronounced my name correctly: Georges.

Everyone calls me George. And some people called me George-ass (lol). Well, idiots who can't pronounce my name in french.

I no longer care now though, but I dreaded the first day of class each year in school.

Is it Georzhay

Out of curiosity, how is it pronounced?

You're one of those guys! :flame:

Jokes, it doesn't bother me anymore.

It's prounounced: http://inogolo.com/audio/Georges_3976.mp3

Although less gay than that.

This is absurd, are you serious? I have, however known a "Johnathan", which I always thought was strange. Anyway, my name is Micah, and I get all sorts of weird spellings and mispronunciations. It used to really bother/embarrass me, but after 26 years, I don't really care anymore; I either correct the person or let it slide and move on.

Yes im serious... some people are dumb***s

It must've annoyed the [censored] out of you when you were posting here with letters missing at the end of your name. :P

Letter xD

My name gets spelt incorrectly often - how they manage to get [censored] instead of Rohugh - perhaps it is as a result of a "nice" PM I sent them. :D

Other common ones are Rouge, Rogh, Rohug and Roughage.

You'd have to be pretty damn dumb to do that unintentionally.

My name is Josh, I have seen someone spell it "Johs", I guess they thought of John where the H comes first.

I don't think anyone has ever misspelled my name like that. Lucky me.

George-ass is funny, though I hated when my friends used to make fun by mauling my name.

I don't mind people misspelling my name that much because they usually only do it in one specific way because I have an easy name to remember, and they actually do it the way it should be.

My name is "Elvar" but sometimes people write it as "Elfar", however "Elfar" would be the correct name as it is drawn from the word "Elfur" (it′s the same word but a different way to say it, in my language we got different ways to say things depending on in what context we are talking about the thing) which is an old word we don't use often nowadays for the word "river".

My parents decided my name should have a V rather than an F just because they felt it looked better, and I tend to agree for some reason (perhaps I′m just so used to it having a V rather than an F).

So yeah, it′s only 5 easy to remember letters and the only variation that people can get wrong is if it has a V or an F in it, and my name is already wrong in a way so people are just correcting it when they get it wrong :P
