This is a fail troll post, or the OP is just a fool.

Just found only ONE thread about this on google/yahoo. The guy who had the early version of the game says that it is only a 3.2gb download, then he posts screenshots of the differences. Considering it is a 5.5gb install on the 360, this is a complete joke and no one should listen to this.
No... The Xbox 360 install is 3.8 gb, Now the PS3 is 5.5 gb (required install) as its Blu Ray drive reads slowly so a bigger install makes sense.

I think it's a little strange If this is true that BGS didn't find this when testing an installed to hdd 360 version.

Tho this is still concerning

Quoting that guy from gamefaqs

Explanation:
The Xbox 360 caches its bsa files and esm to disk (your HDD) to its two cache folders mounted on your HDD (cache, and cache0), this includes the textures. When loading textures the quality depends on how fast you can load it, that way you can play the game without lag. In the case of running the game from the HDD you are not only loading the game from it but you are caching and reloading from it, which puts stress on the HDD thus slower loading times and lower quality textures. When loading off of the USB depending on how you are loading it this can be the same case. In my case it wasn't because it was just a FAT32 formatted USB with the files running off like a disk would, unlike a disc install which has to load off of the preparatory file format that Microsoft invented. If loading the way I did, all the HDD was needed for was savegames and cache, so there is less stress on the HDD and better textures loaded.

Makes sense, i guess, but i dunno. Big question is how the hell Bethesda missed that problem.

Sounds complicated but I think I understood it though. It sounds similar to what New Vegas had, it dealt with something similar with caches and you had to deal with that every 3 hours. I don't think Skyrim is going to see a lag after 3 hours but it does sound similar. I blame all of this on Softworks notoriously bad debugging, they are really bad at it, although they are doing it right this time by getting a day one patch. I do agree though I can't believe they missed this one.

Make Bethesda do the all the creative stuff, get ID Tech involved with the coding. (albeit Rage had it's fair share of problems)

After that, you will have the most successful game of ALL TIME

I hope it gets resolved on day one really, I have no interest letting my 360 tear and wear down my precious DVD at a faster rate and having that sickening jet like motor sound emitting from the fans. If it really cannot be resolved, I will keep it installed regardless. Simple a balance of pros and cons.

Ok here's how to fix it:
Go to console seetings and go to memory.
Then when HDD is on screen press Y and go to ''clear system catche''.
That should fix it and i also noticed that my console works 2x faster on dashboard now :D
Dunno how much u can play before repeating but i guess u can do it every time before starting your game.

Doesn't that affect DLC and Patches that you have downloaded.

You mean that's what they come up with for a fix? I do that all the time anyway. If a game starts to lag and have problems. I just dump the cache and keep going. Been doing that for almost 2 years now.

Edit : As a matter of fact, i do it as a regular maint, after 5-6 hrs gameplay.

I'll have to try that if I start seeing issues when I eventually play in 77-78 hours.

You have to re-download any patches for a game after doing it.

No i am pretty sure that ppl keep reporting that from disc textures are a lot better...
Internet is in uproar about it atm...

That makes absolutely no sense. Do I really have to pull the 'Ultimate Insult' joke on you? ;)

If you ARE right... then it makes no sense.

I didn't either until I researched how to fix common problems with the system. It's posted in the Xbox site.

I'd say HDD. Playing fallout 3 and NV from HDD made the game so much smoother.

I thought that was the case, I now remember hearing talk about that when Fallout New Vegas came out. I'll just have to wait and see, that's basically all I can do at this point.

Yes, that's just at the start and it doesn't take but a few seconds. It takes longer for me to turn everything on. So it's really a non issue, unless you are off line.

Please forgive my technological ignorance, but I've got a question--

I recently switched internet providers (I used to access the internet with my 360 with a modem) and it's going to be well into December before I have my wireless adapter.

Is it possible to install Skyrim to my HDD, download a patch from the Bethesda site onto a CD/DVD disc, then install to X-Box ?

Will the patch be essential to be able to play the game? Becuase what about people who don't have ANY xbox live connection?
