Please change graphics back to pre-patch state

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 2:20 am

There is definitely a drop in quality of graphics. The game looks like I'm playing Oblivion again pretty much. The game was lagging a bit for me, but only because I played for hours non-stop. Reducing the graphics is like false advertising. There is no reason the PS3 shouldn't be able to handle this game.

Besides there being 10 threads like this open already, go read through them and find the comparison BEFORE and AFTER screenshots and VIDEO, they show the game prepatch and AFTER patch!

Your either blind or predisposed because you heard some numbskull start the rumor that the graphics have been lowered! Textures failed to load sometimes BEFORE the patch was released, blaming that on the patch is quite funny since it has happened since I started my game ! Listen.... there is NO difference in graphical fidelity or quality AFTER the patch than there was before it! The ONLY Thing Bethesda did in terms of performance was fix the stuttering lagging issues some people with larger saved games were experiencing, they have not touched the textures, shadows or load distance!

Now go and choke on a darky and relax ;)

NO DIFFERENCE. See Zidane Tribal's video for all the proof you need. It is all in your head.

With the 1.2 update, nothing was implemented that would change how the visuals look.

Strange times indeed then Gstaff. I'm certainly aware of a difference in my visuals, especially weather and lighting. Perhaps I'll uninstall and reinstall the game and see if that fixes it for me.

Psst, there is some brown stuff on your nose mate... :frog:

Obviously what I'm experiencing is unintended and perhaps just another bug. I'll uninstall and reinstall the game, which is bound to fix the issue, isn't it?

Like I have said many times that is because the seed of something has changed has entered your phsycic, once that took hold you were sure what you were seeing was a result of the patch!

Your very amusing, I hate it when people think they are right then start stating it is fact without any inclination of proof or evidence, I have enough of that in my RL don't need it in my favorite forum ;) So what if I like Bethesda I have been playing their games going back to 94 with Arena.

Actually it's not. I'm surprised you understand my deep pysche to make such a prognosis. It seems there is a constant war between 'trolls' and '[censored]' in this forum, which I'm not part of.

I registered today to post my findings as I see it and as I see it (Weather, Lighting, AA) the graphics are poorer. I can only take from Gstaff's post that this is unintended and a reinstall will cure.

I hope you are joking because Gstaff stated above they did nothing that would change the visual elements in the patch...

Gstaff, what was done to improve performance then?
From playing the game I have noticed a smaller FOV as weapons cover the entire view, Used to be able to see my entire sword however now i only see the handle and part of the blade. Dual elven war axes cover my screen and no longer pulse just remain a constant purple glow.

To say nothing was done to change the graphical quality is a joke. Perhaps the xbox settings were accidently released with the ps3 patch, as that is what my game now looks like.

Thanks for the info. Nice to get a somewhat official statement.
Maybe you know why the update was 92mb? That seems like a lot for just code/script changes. It must have contained some data files like texture, dialog or similar.

Your saying Gstaff is lying? Ffs he just told you they didn't do anything that would affect the visuals, what you are experiencing is something that was there pre-patch. Go back and reload a new saved game .

If they are not able to alter existing files, they would have to replace them. This could be a cause for the patch size. Just a guess, but it seems reasonable.

Ive definetly noticed a major change in textures (especially grassy areas), but the most noticable thing to me is that the DRAW DISTANCE, has been lowered DRASTICALLY.

I really dont know why some dont see this on their PS3, but for me ITS DEFINETLY CHANGED since installing the new update.

To me there is nothing worse than a company hiding behind falsehoods.

I agree, I cant see anything beyond 3 feet of my character. Its like there always a thick fog. Sometimes a tree pops out of this fog infront of me and I get scared!

Also graphics are so bad right now that I think every house is like one huge pixel. I think the resolution is something like 10 pixels total. hard to find my character when all there is is 10 pixels! Hot damn.... :(

I'm sorry to say that I agree, only issues pre-patch I found were occasionally low frame-rate which didn't even bother me.

What would be the point in someone lying if their game is fine?
