Possible Werewolf patch (for the near future)

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 5:34 pm

I play on master. There in many cases turning into a were wolf is just asking to get killed. I actually kicked more ass as a low level warrior than as a were wolf. But here is what we all can agree we need. A way to End the Change back on demand without "Waiting".

Right now I only use Beast form for Cross country running.

Both vampirism and lycanthropy are a curse so the drawbacks should outweigh the benefits

These are good posts people are saying. But I believe a patch to atleast make the werewolf do more damage would be beneficial, even a power attack feels like it does barely nothing and even if I knock someone to the ground slashing at them takes away minute health, which I believe shouldn't, and being attacked by arrows from a bandit shouldn't do extreme amounts of damage while as a Werewolf in my own opinion, this is why I believe they should patch the durability, as previously stated the Werewolves pros are it's supposed enhance strength and durability, which is all fine at good at lower levels but it is really lacking at higher levels, and Bethesda did do their best to try and keep the Werewolf a secret in this game, so not to put words in other people's mouths, I would have thought they'd have tried to make the "surprise" last longer for players, if people only use it to run around and do random rampages in towns rather than in a real fight against bandits or what not, then it feels like a bit of a waste if you don't mind me saying, and as i stated before i LOVE using the Werewolf, I used it as much as I could in lower levels but now that I'm reaching higher levels I'm finding it obsolete and I don't want it to be that I always want it to have that great feeling of having immense physical strength which is why I adored using it at low levels, so that is why I'm asking for a patch on the Werewolf to make it stronger and do more damage and also have it be able to take more damage, let the Werewolf's power increase per level so it still feels like a powerful beast. Please.

I agree, the werewolf is so useless when you go up because for starters you can't heal at all unless you kill someone, and you die before you can even heal. There should be a way to click on the shout again to get out of the form

Or as I've asked make the Werewolf more powerful so it can take more damage and give more damage, but yeah willing the revertion would be good too, but one thing at a time I'm guessing

Yeah I agree, I think there should be some perk tree for a werewolf, but much bigger than different perk trees because you would get only one perk tree for a werewolf and you get lots for a human form
And something so when you level up as a werewolf your looks would change, so after I've got all perks and I'm powerful as hell I would look like a powerful werewolf not like every other.

No. "I wish X was more Y/I don't like the mechanics of Z" is not a bug and therefore is not the sort of thing that should be patched. Let's have Bethesda fix actual bugs, please.

Again that'd be a really cool idea, but I'm thinking about people's default classes at the same time, so a Mage wouldn't have to spend skill point on the Werewolf when they may want to increase something magical like restoration or destruction. As for changing the look of the Werewolf, that'd be kind of cool too but really, we want to try and make the Werewolf form fitting for everyone and every character class, as stated The Warrior, Thief, mage type or a small combination of any of them :)

It's not so much a bug it's just patching something that is strong at first which becomes weak later, to make it become strong again at higher levels. The Werewolf as a mechanic early on is great due to it's strenght but as we level up, the Werewolf doesn't exactly level up with us, if it did and still felt strong later, it would give an overall more balanced experience and in my opinion more enjoyable, but I do understand that there are other things that need fixing like the moonflying dragons and such and such

That would be your option, you could be a powerful mage or a legendary werewolf, you won't be great in everything

Yes yes, I see your reasoning, but I believe the Werewolf and if the patch does come out (I pray) that it could be for everyone, so if all else fails, a Thief, or a Mage will have a physically powerful Werewolf to fall back on (or transform into) if their magic or sneaking fails so they can have the option of engaging the enemy tooth and claw without having any drawbacks to leveling up their Magic stuff and Sneaking skills when they revert back, but I do like your idea of a Werewolf tree, if it came to that I know what I'd be doing from now on :)

Having some thought into it, can anyone who has knowledge of how video game mechanics or working bits tell me would it just be easier to give the Werewolf a seperate perk tree rather than letting it's strength and durability increase with the leveling up of the player character? I still feel the leveling would be a better choice then everyone could use it and skill points need not be used so a character class could use it to strengthen themselves in some way.

I've not had a problem with the werewolf. That character is level 35 now. We haven't had any problems. Changing into a werewolf boosts stamina and health by 100, my warrior has been going into nothing but stamina and health, so my health is almost boss-like now when I change, plus the speed of stamina regeneration is also boosted, I never ever run out, and can do back to back power attacks. It keeps all my enemies on the ground, so I barely if ever get hit. If there's too many, the shout button causes your werewolf to do a roar that sends them running in fear. You have auto kill almost. If you start out by sprinting in and doing a sprinting power attack it will almost always instantly kill the first opponent you hit. I haven't had the first problem with being a werewolf, if it's used tactically. There are some instances against some enemies that it's better to use my sword, but for bandits, and draugr, and some bosses, werewolf does just fine.

warewolf is powerful enough, the vampire is the underpowered one, it is just a hassle

Pretty much

Vampire:

Benefits:

Resistance to disease and poison-useless, how often do you get poisoned and diseased anyway?

illusion more powerful- not really very useful, only a couple good illusion spells

Sneak bonus: If you use sneak, you don't need it. If you don't, you'll never use it anyways

Frost resistance: Good.

Disadvantages:

Weakness to fire

Weakness to sunlight

People are freaked out by you

Need to feed all the time

So, a bunch of useless perks, including a couple slightly useful spells I didn't name, and a bunch of crippling disadvantages.

Trolls should go back to they're caves, nowhere man your very akin to your name cause you have no idea what problems we speak of, or maybe u dont like werewolves? i dont know maybe you just go to forum to forum to troll people but this is OBVIOUSLY a glitch they would not go so far as to giving you an ARTIFACT to -INCREASE- usage of werewolf form if the werewolf form wasnt good it was meant to scale and be a power house with some cons but its just glitched and wont scale but i wont try to explain to you cause you seem to be one of those "NUH UHHH!" people who take sick pleasure in annoying the piss out of people now please kindly butt off this subject and find a new one to troll.

I support a perk tree for were wolves as the guy mentioned very small, would be amazing to have sounds very akin to a story im making of werewolf packs that specialize in particular aspects such as stealth/mental control or other Bloodthirsty rush in combat power houses ....possibilities are near endless but that dousnt really solve our issue thats just a wishlist but it could help and make things awesome do the same for vamps. but on that subject imo id say trees would be -Bloodthirst- for pure melee DPS and tankage lots of bleed attacks maybe some new combat moves. -Nightstalker- Stealth based werewolf as well as being the most mentally controlled can stay in form longer, has the ability to stealth((in a cool unique werewolf way)) and Pounce people/things similar to the sprint without sprinting has Crit % increase and can see in the dark as for a last tree i dunno, ill leave that to you guys

One last thing cause i know people will criticize the stealth werewolf idea, Werewolves are naturally stealthy watch werewolf horrors 90% of them have werewolves quickly picking people off without even being seen and cause mass confusion and panic yes werewolves are big giant powerhouses but they were built to hunt, not just jump in and slaughter people werewolves are the epidemy of Agility strength and stealth perfect killing machines and perhaps for the stealthy werewolves every sneak kill increases form time, and perhaps an ability to snatch people up in a type of as i dub "Nom drive by" drag them silently((albeit quickly)) to a shadowed area to feast and heal as for bloodthirst were wolves have they're finishers heal themselves((a perk that makes finishers occur more frequently)) and have them devour the person in some form or way or maybe just a passive Regen buff albiet all werewolf have great regeneration but bloodthirst perked wolves would have a considerable amount ((not as in just Rofling as he/she is being shot to death clobed to death but rather a faster regen so u can stay in battle long enough to do a sync kill to heal.
