Bethesda launch fail

Have fun with the PC, but please stop bashing consoles every chance you get. PC elitists are funny and insecure. They have to continually make themselves feel better and superior to console gaming. Here's the bottom line, whether you like it or not. Console gaming is where the video game industry has been heading the last 10 years and its not going to change. In fact its going to get worse for PC gamers. Sorry. Get used to it.

Who sounds like an elitist? You kinda do actually.

I own a 360, two PS3, and 3 computers. I'm a guy that likes games anyway he can get them...(when the wife lets me). All the systems have their own advantages. But don't worry Gag; PC gaming is here to stay.

P.S. I can't remember the last time I bought a PC title (retail or digital) that didn't work right from the first install. I'm thinking in your case; user error comes to mind.

Pete Hines replied on his twitter account when ask about giving retailers the okay to distribute early due to leak, etc. He cited tech support not ready for customer support, and more importantly he pointed to the fact that not all retailers have their copies yet. It would be unfair to give a sales advantage to some when this will be a rather large profit maker. Concerning pirate distribution, it is a personal decision that can have personal consequences just like everything in life.

While I usually stay away from the console vs. PC topics it seems that the PC players bashing the consoles have gotten increasingly worse. Here's why I'm a console player.

Interesting' I've perceived the opposite myself with anyone daring to mention a PC advantage being shouted down as a "PC elitist" but Ok. PC gamers are really quick to get angry about it though so maybe the correct answer to the barb would be "yep and proud of it."

Seriously guys, if someone spends 10x as much on thier rig as someone else, it ought to be better or they're an idiot. Everybody just chill about your chosen platform. What other people play on doesn'y hurt you.

When I buy a game I take it home, put it in the Xbox and well, IT WORKS! Its the most amazing thing. I know that everyone on here will say the PC is the same way, download, install and viola. All I can give is my person experience. I have never, ever, not one time, bought or downloaded a PC game and it work right off the bat. Ever. I'm not going to try. I gave up on it a long time ago. On top of that I like to sit on my couch and use a controller. Again, PC gamers will say, you can do that with the PC. Well, true but I have to buy an exceptionally long HDMI cord, run it under my house or have it lying on the floor while my 3-year old trips over it every five seconds. AND I've got to upgrade my graphics card every other year. All-in-all, no thanks. I'll take the 360 version, which still looks absolutely fantastic. I also enjoy being on Xbox Live and talking to friends in parties and getting the achievement points. The pros for the 360 far outweigh the PCs. Yes the PC looks better, and may run better, but the inconveniences for me are just too much.

Lol good one. Upgrading your graphics card every year?
I <3 ignorance.
It's not like we have an online community in steam...or be able to use Vent...or skype...to talk to people. Guess I'll just crawl back into my hole because I'm an insecure nerd who can't talk to people without the help of Xbox Live :whistling:

OMG you just stated you have never been able to get a PC game to work the first time you installed it? No Pc games? Im surprised you are intelligent enough to post on a forum if this is the case my friend.

Im not soley a PC gamer, im a multi platform gamer but I know which is the superior hardware and better experience. Your arguments or so fail and illogical its simply borderline delusional.

First why do you need a long HDMI cord? Is your PC rooted in another room and can not be moved closer to your TV due to some magical barrier? You can hook it up as fast as a console to your TV, just because you wont move it beside the TV its not a legitimate argument.

You can play the PC from a TV in front of a couch with a xbox controller just as easy as the 360 itself. Just because you lack the knowledge or motivation to do it doesnt make the PC inferior.

Upgrade your card every other year? I just built my PC and wont be needing anything more powerful in at least 3 years!

It also helps your point when you sound like the elitist here.

I don't even think it's really the Retailers fault or Bethesda's. Most retailers, at least here, could have made the mistake just because all games are normally released on Tuesdays NOT Friday. Could be that simple, if not oh well. I'm jealous too that people have it but I'm not blaming anyone or mad.

Haha. I realize I'm outnumbered here. Big time. Oh, well.

I'm by no means an elitist. PC has better graphics, better framerate, mods, etc. I'm not arguing that. I'm simply saying that for me, the 360 version is more convenient. And for the record, I have a 360, and PS3 and a computer that needs only an updated graphics card to run Skyrim, which I almost bought the other day. I gave very serious thought to playing Skyrim on PC.

Convenience is a pretty big point for a lot of people, I agree.
I respect your decision to play on a console, though.

And I respect you or anyone else's decision to play on whatever they want. I've just seen a TON of hate for consoles lately. Maybe its just the threads I've been reading. If console owners were constantly saying things about how DLC exclusives make the 360 the best and making negative comments about the PC I would take offense to that as well. It just seems that many people are VERY quick to remind everyone how much better the PC version is than consoles.

Um, haven't you seen that some movies release theatrically on Wednesdays? You know, to, um, avoid the competition of other movies that traditionally release on Fridays?

I had to wait on a line at 4:30 pm today for MW3. I figured by then the chaos would be over. I'd be really ticked off if I had to wait in that line to get Skyrim, regardless of MW3. Whether or not you care about MW3, you surely have to understand the business implications of releasing against a title that if I'm not mistaken, has already broken release day records.

I'm not saying that MW3 was Beth's sole reason for 11/11. But I don't have a problem with a Friday release date. If anything, it adds to the special feeling I'll have when I pick up my copy.

And no, I'm not a MW really devoted fan. I'm actually not even going to open the game until I need a break from Skyrim. I'm predicting mid-May, or maybe August. I know of a game store that sells movies and games days before the legal street date. I could probably have Skyrim on Wednesday or Thursday. Will I buy it? Nope. It's just how things are sometimes.

No matter how early the game is announced, the pirates always gets it a week or two in advance. This happens for every game now and forever. Atleast until they managed to put DRM in everything and mandatory online activation on every platform.

OK, this thread has derailed into Platform Wars and Platform Bashing. Time to close this.
