[Xbox360] Skyrim Bug Instalation Textures Vol. 2

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 7:24 am

just bought the game here in memphis at 12:00 on the xbox 360 and I must say im extremely ticked off why would they release a game this bad looking.. I watched all the Preview demoes where Todd stated he was playing the 360 version why does his version look so much better than the one im playing like seriously this game looks bad on my end textures aren't popping and others just look bad. I just got done playing Fallout New Vegas and it looks better than Skyrim

So why don′t you play directly from disc ?

There's some definite issues with the textures in the game. I've played about 4 hours tonight and seen some crazy stuff already. Some of the snow textures are just horrible, along with some wall textures. I've also seen water textures completely disappear, making it look like the river doesn't exist. Mostly just stuff up close, but it looks pretty damn bad.

BTW - I'm playing straight from the disk(no hdd install), on a slim 360.

The game is still great and all but it would really be awesome if they figured this problem out...

Alright guys, took the time to do some testing and take some pics. This is NOT to diss Bethesda, I'm just trying to help getting this issue fixed. I have no blurry textures when playing from the disc, on a Xbox360 slim. Here's what I got:

Right after installing the game to the HDD. Very blurry textures, very clear to me that this is just an issue where a certain layer of texture detail isn't loaded

After clearing the cache, problem persists

Then removed the installed game data and playef off the disc. At first startup, the textures remained the same, but after playing for about 10mins and visiting some other areas, and then returning to the same place, I got this:

Come on Bethesda, just acknowledge this is an issue you guys are aware of and looking into. This is SO obvious that I didn't even have to LOOK for certain textures to be off, it's right there in my face. If you need any more extra info or testing to be done, let me know.

What I find confusing right now is that clearing the cache does not solve the problem, but playing for 10 minutes and allowing the game to reload the textures from DVD naturally does cure the problem.

It's as if the game has it's own separate texture cache independent of the System Cache...

ok i experienced a bug when u have to go get the jjarl of Makarths shiled from tht one fortress to the east u find a harppir tht wants u to kill peatrice well i found tht the quest gets glitched if u fall offf the sidee of the mountain and end uo going into the door your companions and summons can kill her but u cant. this causes her to die the quest glitches and it can never be finished!! i think quests with back door entry ways should be locked so u cant back way enter to prevent such glitches and a patch should come out to enable this misc. quest to be completed! it sux haveing the other harpies sitting there saying "why aren't you a fine nibble"... o.o
