I love seeing these reactions. You'll be gutted when you're playing your beloved game and it looks like Oblivion in places. Fact is, it's amazing when it does look right. Highly dissapointing and frustrating when it doesn't.
It wont kill the gameplay, it just kills the immersion, knowing you are playing a broken game.
Get it Fixed!!
haha sadly you don't know me all that well buddy. I REALLY couldn't give two [censored] to see the texture popping right now because apparently unlike many of you, I'm in it for the gameplay. the eye candy is just an added bonus. if I wanted to 'immerse' myself into a fantasy realm I'll do it by other means. I understand this is a
video game and that it's meant to have fun while playing it. bottom line.
Edit: perfect example of how I won't, "...be gutted when
you're I'm playing
your my beloved game and it looks like Oblivion in places," is because I have been playing through Oblivion the past few months and have enjoyed a majority of it. sure I thought, "this game is looking dated" but then I realized it came out in 2006. so I just said [censored] it and continued to have a blast with a franchise I love playing. I don't tend to hop on a high horse and throw a hissy fit when there's just some visual issues when a game just comes out. especially in this case when the game isn't even officially released.
Edit2: and on the subject of broken games, I've played Gears of War 1 since its release in 2006 on a consistent basis with a group of guys I met on the Epic forums before its release and still enjoy playing that broken game. Why? nostalgia may play a factor, yes, but I also enjoyed the gameplay elements of the game so it kept me coming back for more. now trust me I am a svcker for great graphics, but I'm an even bigger svcker for great gameplay. Skyrim turns out to have both. Gameplay more so than graphics at the moment it seems, but once this bug is fixed it'll have both in spades.
