and now the wait begins for PC..

The only kind of money talking all this makes me want to do though is busting slimeball in the mouth with a sock filled with quarters. That'd shut him up from his "Better with Kinect?" speeches for awhile (that he always claps after saying, seriously, clapping to a crowd after your own statements is just sleazy).

Don't worry, its only 29 days now until we'll have the DLC. =)

Meanwhile, people using some tricky tactics are playing it on PC right now.

Heres what the pc users should do, they should get some expert modders to make an exact copy of dawnguard with the creation kit then put it out there for free, then no pc user will but dawnguard, muwahahahahah. lol

Meh, I don't care about the wait. I won't be picking up Dawnguard or any other DLC until it hits a mass discount Steam sale.

It'll be out in 30 days. Money talks and there are a lot of people that play on the PC ready to spend $20.00 to play Dawnguard.

Who will likely buy it whether it comes out in 30, 60, or 90 days. I really think you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you think you'll be playing Dawnguard by the end of July, and quite possibly even by the end of August..

my archery thief was all excited to go all Van Helsing through Skyrim, only to have his little Bosmer hopes dashed when I realized Don Mattrick paid for a delay on the PC version and ruined my week.

What makes you think the PC version was any where near being ready to be released? The PC version needs a lot more testing then the console versions, and the PS3 version generally takes longer than anything else. Most multiplatform games the Xbox 360 version is the one shown first, and the one completed first. If Microsoft had delayed the PC version, would not have Bethesda rushed out an announcement already giving a release date for the PC and PS3 versions? For exactly one month after the Xbox 360 release. Maybe they are waiting to see when they will have those two versions ready before making any announcements. If they had the Xbox 360 version just sitting there, why not get some extra money by giving an exclusive period to Microsoft, while they work on polishing the remaining versions.

You know, it's a shame I really hope Bethesda thinks it's worth taking Microsoft's dirty money at the possible expense of losing out on a lot of PC sales if those tricks were to be widely known and proliferated over the internet. It is a dirty dirty shame that because of Microsoft's greed punishing gamers on competing platforms, that CRIME is a favorable possibility for some. It would almost serve Bethesda right.

I don't know the full details, but I have heard rumors that people have been able to do a little hacking to get the 360 version of Dawnguard compatible with the PC version of Skyrim, obviously, this is not purchased legitimately.

Don't even kid yourself, every other patch has been ready for PC first. Microsoft paid them to delay the PC and PS3 versions, just like they pay for first access to a lot of other titles and DLC. This is a bribe, not a technical reason. Pull your head out of the sand and look around.

Microsoft clearly paid a LOT of money for this exclusivity, and I don't really get the value in it for Microsoft.... People that are gonna buy the DLC are going to buy it for their system. A PC user isn't going to go out and buy an Xbox so he/she can play the new DLC a month early... just like a PS3 user isn't going to buy an Xbox just so they can play early....

and for the Xbox users... how does a simultaneous Steam/PS3 release affect their sales at all? Xbox users either are gonna buy the DLC or they aren't. Having it early doesn't really provide any sort of incentive at all. I'm not sure what advantage Microsoft hopes to gain here... Are they hoping that by pushing back PC/PS3 release dates that they're somehow boosting sales? I don't see how that's even logical.

The only advantage I can see is for users who have multiple systems, or a PC and a console. Xbox's deal with Bethesda means that people will probably shell out for the Xbox version first (That is assuming that they're buying multiple copies of the DLC for their systems - it sounds crazy but I know people who do this a lot) - So ultimately, Microsoft isn't really boosting their sales with these expensive exclusivity deals, they're just ensuring that the people that were gonna buy the DLC anyway buy it ... sooner?

I doubt that, since they announced the agreement long before Dawnguard could possibly be finished. I remember hearing about it months before Skyrim even came out.

It seems a lot have forgotten what Bethesda said before skyrim was released. That the first two content releases would have a 30 day exclusivity deal on the Xbox 360. I fully expect that the PC version at least will be out around late July.

They have inferior aged hardware and less exclusives. Ratface has to look for any advantage he can for the console to make it profitable. Unfortunately, it works.

Believe me, when people are looking for a console to buy these days they always choose the one that gets the games first

Look at bright side, atleast the money Beth gets from M$ for sealing the deal will go towards better game products :)

It's amusing how these early releases always turn into a console war making every gamer on here look like a moron. The Xbox gets it early its not the end of the world, everybody will get if some have to wait.

Especially when it's just 166 posts of console war.
