Mods are fun, but they don't compare to official stuff from the Devs.

Seriously we always get screwed with DLC Oblivion we had to wait for KotN and SI and still don't even have half the stuff, Fallout 3 xbox got exclusives on every DLC, Fallout NV xbox got dead money exclusive, and then the store was down when HH came out, and now skyrim is doing not one but two 30 day exclusives, when will we have equality!!

I know which I would choose... wait the 30 days... we will be able to experience Dawnguard better then anyone else.. Oh for all the PS3 users... you guys have some pretty pimpen exclusives already....( i bought a ps3 just to play them)

Just 30 days!

Please stop telling people it's "Just thirty days". (this is to everyone saying this, not just you Quinya)

We don't know that. All we know is that it's 30 days beforre it's POSSIBLE for Dawnguard to be released. In reality, chance are things aren't going to be that snug, and we're going to be stuck waiting for a couple months(probably just as I'm getting ready to move, knowing my luck >.< ). And hey, if it is thirty days, then it's a happy surprise! But we don't know for sure it's just 30 days.

Doesn't make much sense to hold it past 30 days. Money is money. Once that contract with Microsoft is up they can put it on steam and make more money right away.

I am on the 360, I've downloaded it but I've only played the first 10 minutes of it, I'm not fussed about it in the end, its just a game. At the end of the day, as much as I love TES games, if I had to wait an extra 30 days, so what? Skyrim has plenty in it to keep me interested without the DLC.
remember that there are a bunch of Elder scrolls fanatics on this forum, a lot of them probably takes this series much more serious than you, it's not just a game for them. I'm one of these people and you can't blame us for being impatient

I can. I just did. You have been officially blamed - courtesy of me.

Game addiction is a problem. The first step to getting over it is admitting you have it. There's a 1-800 number for this sort of thing.

Microsoft isn't the only ones that do this lol. Sony does exclusive DLC also, anyone watch E3 this year? If Microsoft didn't jump to it first, you bet your *** that Sony would have.

I agree that gamers are the victims, no matter the platform. I was just mainly mentioning about E3 to those that just blame Microsoft and what not. They all do it. It's business. We might even see it getting progressively worse.

equality? we never did have equality when it comes to bethsda we get a skyrim that lags and freezes 24/7 we get fallout 3 and new Vegas that lags and freezes alot also we get dlc for fallout 3 and new Vegas that barley even runs on our ps3's without freezing or crashing heck after the fallout dlc's I'm more concerned of the dlc being playable on ps3 without lagging and freezing plaguing it

And I hope your right. It doesn't change the fact that Beth hasn't given a timeframe for release, and that it's factually inaccurate to say that DG is definitely coming out in a month for PC. We just know it's going to be AT LEAST a month. And there's a huge difference.

Maybe I've just been following GW2 too much, but the fact that we don't know for sure it's coming out in late July for PC tells me it's going to be a while. That seems like something they'd want to say to reassure PC fans. Also: Does anyone know if there's going to be a beta period for PC? I'd imagine there will be, which is part of why I'm not particularly hopeful for July.

One month isn't too terrible. I'm just going to do my best to stay away from spoilers; and enjoy my load order of 60+ mods right now.

We usually have an advantage to console players. It doesn't kill me that they get a 20 buck DLC before we do.

What kills me and what upsets me is WHY they're getting it first. If the 360 version was simply technically done and ready to go first, that's one thing. The fact that Bethesda was BRIBED for exclusivity is 100% of the problem.

Because while the exclusivity contract is in place they can't do any of the prep work required to release Dawnguard, because it would breach their contract. They can't even talk about when it will come out during this period. So they have to announce it, advertise it and prep it. We don't even know if they were allowed to build the PC and PS3 versions in tandem with the Xbox version.

So it could be anywhere from a month on top to more. Just look at Dead Money for Fallout New Vegas, same monopoly manipulating contract and it took two months after the Xbox release to appear on PC and PS3.

Well with GW2 it's not a matter of a bribe or money that's holding them from giving us a release date. The game is not ready yet (you'd know this if you had participated in the beta weekends), it's a brilliant game, by far the best MMO I've played (it shares a lot of the same principles and system designs as The Elder Scrolls Online, both games started being developed around the same time.. about all you can say is Great Minds Think Alike at both Zenimax and Arenanet), but it's still a game that is very much in development, higher level areas aren't available, 2 races aren't available, only 2 structured PVP maps are available (4 are planned), only 2 dungeons are available (and they have 8 they're working on, and people weren't high enough level to run the second one), and several professions/weapons need balancing and the game as a whole still needs polishing and optimization (currently CPU bound, doesn't use the GPU hardly at all). Arenanet doesn't want to promise us a date and then either not be able to make that date and delay, or rush the game out the door and have it be unpolished the way some other MMO's have been of late, like Star Wars: The Old Republic.

If the reason why Dawnguard isn't available for PC and PS3 right now was due to a technical reason, or development reason, IE they just weren't ready, I wouldn't be angry at all. I'm not angry that the PC version of Dark Souls is coming out almost a year later than the console versions, heck, we had to petition and throw our support behind From software to get the port. That's okay, From and a lot of other Japanese developers, don't often develop games for PC, this is something kind of new for them, we'll wait eagerly, but patiently.

It's when sleazeball president of interactive entertainment business over at Microsoft bribes a company to release on his platform first and bribes to have a window of exclusivity. That's a problem. That's a bs reason. I can't wait patiently for that reason.
