PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #30

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 7:09 am

I'll admit, I haven't explored all the links above but the impression I get from the posts is that a collectors edition of Skyrim is in the pipeline as a cash in on the Xmas season and the advertising has shown a PS3 version of said collectors edition.

Is THAT Bethesda's idea of some smart marketing? Can they believe people are that gullible? (Well maybe some would overlook 12 months of being lied to in order to get what was initially promised)

I'd see it more like this if this edition included DLC and stuff.

We can have Skyrim with all the trimmings on PS3 but only if we pay for another full price game? We have been getting told it isn't performing well enough to date so is this some optimised version of the game or will it still suffer all the usual issues and this is another advertising triumph?

Ok I'll buy it, yes I said I'll buy it.

IF!

I am refunded the purchase price that I paid for Skyrim on 11/11/11, I have the reciept so no worries.

As to more claiming of GOTY and Golden Joystick awards? - Bullcrap!

Edit:-

Hang on, it seems to be the same game but with added T-Shirt and tat.......errr no forget it, even with a refund first, jeebus talk about polishing a turd, Bethesda have been watching too much Mythbusters methinks.

Unless you just want all the swag, why would anyone buy it? And that goes an order of magnitude more for PS3 users.

Its looking like the base game(and really i doubt that Bethesda will even include all the current patches) and no DLC. Basically just a last money grab before X-mas like someone else said.

Thats what it is, the base game a T-shirt, a spin-off novel and six postcards

Nope, that pretty much covers the played out response one can expect.

Not too hopeful for an annoucement today, most folks in their neck of the woods probably need a boat to get to work today if they try.

Sure would be nice to hear something with some substance to it, though.....

So, who else is very curious to see how they are going to market the next Fallout title? Will they even bother making it for the PS3 after the Skyrim clusterbug?
It's obvious they can't come out with the "new engine, special attention, level of parity" crap. We've heard that before, and it didn't work out too well last time.
Personally, I don't think I would even believe them if every single gameplay video they showed us was from the PS3 console. How many of us have had one cave, redoubt, mine, or other area go off bug free? It's when one gets around level 50 or so and has a few dozen hours of gameplay the real issues start showing up in force. Until then, they are minor relatively speaking.

Yes, I know, this post may not belong here, but I just wanted to show any Bethesda employees that might glance at these threads that what they are doing right now is going to directly affect the sales of future titles. They need to remember that the PS3 console accounts for one third of their paying customers. That is quite a bit of money. If that revenue stream suddenly dried up, I think they might miss it just a bit. Speaking for myself, but I'm assuming many others as well, I will not spend one more penny on anything else with the Bethesda name on it unless they make some kind of reparation to the PS3 fans that got svckered into buying Skyrim based on lies. Even if Bethesda is just a publisher, as in the case of Dishonored, I refuse to buy the game. Bethesda needs to think about the future of their company right now. Could Bethesda function if one third of their income disappeared? Not many companies could.

"Just a publisher" is an interesting statement considering that the largest piece of the pie from the money an individual consumer pays to get the game goes to the publisher. 30% of all Dishonored sales goes to Bethesda Softworks, just because their name is on the box as the Publisher.

Right. I forgot about that link that was posted. Well then, I guess that gives all the more reason to avoid them. It's unfair to companies like Arkane, but maybe companies will learn not to partner with Bethesda in the future if they want to do anything on the PS3 console. I tried out Rage, beat it, and was disappointed to say the least. Weak story, extremely repetitive, and the ending was a huge letdown. Back and forth to the same exact areas at least twice for silly fetch quests. It seems the entire game consisted of fetch quests. The ending? Well, I remember stockpiling ammo for the most powerful weapon in the game. Expecting an epic "boss fight" that would make the one in the middle of the game (the giant thing in the wrecked city) seem minor. Instead, I didn't fire off the biggest gun once because the "boss fight" was nothing but dozens of those little guys attacking one at a time. I ended the game literally saying "that's it?"

But, I think I've digressed enough on this thread. Next posts will be back on topic. Sorry about that.

In my case when bethesda name is on the game ill skip it, not buying it second hand or in sale ill just skip it and look further.
I rather spend more on a new game then to get fooled by bethesda again.
I dont think that bethesda is taking me/us serious. I own over 50 games (a few less since i gave and threw away all my bethesda games), and buy 1 a 2 games a month and the dlcs.
Bethesda has some hard work to convince me to ever buy a new game from them.
