Honestly, P2 is Exactly the sort of game I have wanted to play for along time. It only makes it better knowing that the guys at HumanHead realized and developed a game with such a Dark, obscure mythos.
Every time I've beaten Prey, I've had this engrossing feeling of how scary it would feel to traverse the sphere and how paralyzing the Mother is when she talks. What creeped me out most was the concept that the Keepers created humanity as a crop for future harvest.
All in all, the over-arching story, the characters, and the gameplay are just soo unique when compared to all the other CRAP that is out there.
I remember how I first got my copy of Prey. I was on the hunt for my first PC titles; as I had wanted to start playing games on my PC. This was in 2007 or 2008. I had just bought a copy of Day of Defeat: Source at my local gamestop. As I began to leave the store, a kid walked in trying to sell back his copy of Prey to the store and the said no because of policy. I told the kid I'd give um 10 bucks for it.
Now, other than seeing either a preview or review on G4 (Xplay), I had never heard of Prey and it seemed like an interesting game.
After about a year of it sitting on my shelf, I had finally built a PC that could run Prey and other games. I sat and played the game from start to finish and it was life changing. For some reason, I don't know why, this game spoke to me in ways that other games have never.
Sure, I had my good times with Crash bandicoot, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, and the such, but something about Prey hit me. From there on, I wanted to play more Dark, sci-fi horror games.
Prey 2 will hopefully be released and be a game that will also change my life in ways its predecessor did...
