Projectiles part: 2

When you're in Cyrodiil and your keep is being attacked or your in a huge boss battle at the end of a dungeon, you are not going to be ABLE to go to the store.

WHY should one class have an extra resource that they have to worry about and that the others do not, you have not answered this question yet, mostly because you cannot answer that question.

BTW, I actually prefer divine classes and fighters over mages.

i seriously don't get why you keep crying over 1 inventory slot or "other resources".with unlimited arrows i really wouldn't feel like playing archer. all the fun has been taken away. no crafting arrows or gathering materials for arrows, not even shopping them...

We're "crying" over it because it would mess up the chemistry (balance) of the game because it would require archers to have a secondary resources that the other classes do not need to have.

I would assume the archer would have plenty of arrows crafted as well as carrying some arrow components on the character's person (if fletching was implemented) before heading off into battle. *shrugs*

I did edit my previous response in regard to the concerns over "resources".

IF there is only 1 slot, and you can carry as much as you want without limit it can still cost money and is also pointless as well. The point of ammo in a game is to limit the power of a playstyle, archers have Stamina to do this already adding a second resource that does nothing to help them is pointless and makes them weaker than a class/playstyle who is ALSO ranged and does not have to worry about that.

IT s STILL a second resource and item space. How hard is that to understand. Also, if they have enough arrows to last through an entire, huge, battle then the limit seems kinda pointless in the first place other than to take up space and coding.

Guess what? Balance is more important than immersion. It may be part of the class, but it would spoil the game play for many, as it would require a secondary resource that another classes do not need.

This is starting to be repetitive.

Not everyone (and most people do not) NEED ammo to feel immersed in a game, so while you might feel this way, most do not. and once again BALANCE > IMMERSION.

the bows/quivers that are with bows being magic and creating bows is a VERY easy, lore-friendly way for immersion.

you don't want to see arrows happening. try shooting a bow with no arrows, see what happens.

yes, because a world full of magic could not just have the bows/quivers be magical bound arrows (not even that hard of a spell to learn or cast/enchant by the looks of TES games.)

Obviously you can't shoot the bow. However, this is not real life. This is a fantasy game. Pretend the bows are magic.

However you do it, balance must be attempted to be maintained as closely as possible. Limited arrows is definitely not a way to do it, unless you have a solution that would allow balance to be maintained between the classes with limited ammo.

You will not be able to anyway. EVERY class uses magic and you would have to avoid every class skill to not use magic, and that is not going to be very good for how good your character is.

What about enchantments then? Quite frankly, I don't really care how you present it. The ammo/bow/whatever is going to be magical in some shape or form if you want to have an RP reason why you should have unlimited arrows. You cannot have realism in every aspect of this game.

AND? that does not mean you will be good. Just look at the class abilities, they seem far better than the other skill lines and will probably be your main source of damage in the game.

you can not enchant conjured bow. not in any previous games at least, they were not physically in your weapon slot and would wear out in few minutes requiring you to cast the spell again. i know i can't have realism in every aspect of the game, that's pretty obvious. but so many things have been dumbed down. especially archery.

The quiver you character owns is enchanted, there, you now have a in-game reason for it AND you, yourself are not using magic.

He has a point. Let's get back on-topic.

Like I said, I don't really care what reason you would like to make up for arrows being unlimited. The simple matter is they are for the reasons that have been presented to you in this topic. The main reason being it would require a secondary resource that other classes do not require, thus putting anybody who plays an archer at a disadvantage.

ooh, now you're getting somewhere. there is physical quiver that is enchanted with the "replenish arrows" spell you say?

no, there is no quiver in the game (unless they are completely hiding it from everyone for whatever reason) but you can roleplay your character has one, not that hard.
