Projectiles part: 2

Post » Fri Dec 06, 2013 10:44 pm

1. not a problem if we make special slot for arrows. and make the price right.

2. hey man! you are playing archer, of course you are going to make sure that you have enough arrows to go on journey, maybe even some other weaponry if you really are gonna run out.

3.mana/stamina/health potions. i don't really see any problem with this.

ammo is not pointless, the situations where you run out of ammo should happen. why? becouse it forces you to other tactics and could be really exciting.

Should edit the title. This isn't part 2, its more like part 495658675948. The horse is now an indistinguishable color goo, can stop beating it now.

Okay, fine. If we're going to make arrows limited, please give melee and mage users similar drawbacks. Perhaps have a sword that is permanently destroyed after so many uses, or you have to go buy materials to cast a spell similar to D&D?

This way everything would remain balanced. Having limited arrows would work out brilliantly!

Sorry, they are not changing it, it took the entire internet complaining to get them to add first person and even then they added it barely (no FOV slider for example and FOV is at like 60-75, which is terrible).

Also, yeah, The horse is long dead at this point. after 7 pages of mostly people disagreeing with Ammo and that was the latest in a VERY long line of threads of the exact same argument.

If you somehow can't not look at a thread you aren't interested in because its been done over and over, just vote and leave it.

If no one posts, it will drop down the pages. If people post to say they don't want to post, it will stay at the top.

At least there's an "I don't care" option.

You know that was sarcasm, right?

And in case you are being serious right now, most people wouldn't want weapons that get permanently destroyed after so many uses, or constantly having to buy materials in order to cast a spell. Realism is important in a game, yes, however not to the point where it would become a pain in the ass to do any combat in the game due to the fact that you have to keep precious realism.

This isn't going to change. It took pretty much the whole ES community combined screaming at ZOS to make them add first-person. A few people on a forum who want limited arrows isn't really going to convince ZOS.

i'm pretty sure that the number is not "few" that want this. might be minority again becouse casuals are gonna complain about everything that takes their precious time. but it's not "few".

Please provide a source on where it is not a few then. These forums represent an extremely small minority of people who will play ESO, so any polls here are probably inaccurate.

Yes, casuals would probably complain. Casuals are quite a large bit of the gamer community. However, I'm willing to place money on the fact that casuals won't be the only one who don't want this. Balance would become a huge issue if you did this, as it would be punishing archers while not punishing other weapon users. The only way to balance it would be to "punish" other weapon users as well, as I outlined in my post above. And doing that would make to punishing a game for a lot of people, and would cause quite a bit of the player base to lose interest rapidly. Not everybody is interested in keeping this amount of realism in this game.

yep, but still a drop in the bucket

@Luxucs demographics of this are impossible to find. Don't be prepared to ask for a number you can't find yourself

Unless you can find demographics where your idea is the majority?

i don't see arrows as a punishment, i see it as a fun side activity which i like to do. i wouldn't feel punished if there were limited arrows.

Well, if fletching was added as a crafting skill or part of the bow skill line along with being able to carry arrow shafts + arrow heads in bulk then maybe limited arrows wouldn't be such a big deal. The archer could craft arrows on the go without having to be worried about being encumbered since the components used to make the arrows would be far lighter than the arrows themselves - this is how AC handled archery and fletching. The components were also cheaper than the arrows themselves at the vendors.

If there is a system put in place like this, then I wouldn't mind if arrows were limited.
