It's new content for those specified platforms.

We're not getting into the specifics of what content is being released right now, but we are working on bringing content to PS3 and PC. It'll be content that's not already on those platforms.

To be clear, the tweet means there is new content for PS3 and PC users.

Mounted combat came within a title update. This is more than a title update.

No, not yet. But it is add-on content.
It has been http://www.bethblog.com/2012/08/02/dawnguard-ps3-update/ that the PS3 version will be delayed a bit as they are still working to ensure acceptable performance on the platform.

Gstaff, on 30 August 2012 - 06:52 PM, said:

Earlier in the month, we provided an update on Dawnguard's status for PS3.

It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1413248-ps3-release-for-dawnguard-thread-23/# to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content.

We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms. When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep doing our best to return that.

Additional information from Pete Hines in response to Dawnguard:

"Yes, it’s just doesn’t perform well in all scenarios. Some folks would be fine, some would not.”

One of Bethesda’s top PR execs, Pete Hines, (who holds the position of VP of PR and marketing), tweeted to a question that concerned the release date, saying, “No, we will not release it if we can’t get the performance to an ‘acceptable’ standard. Our stance on this has not changed.”

According to Gstaff http://www.bethblog.com/2012/10/04/hearthfire-available-on-steam/comment-page-1/#comment-278242:

Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:57 am:

We haven’t given up. We’re still working to see what’s possible.

Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 10:15 pm:

Our team is still working to make PS3 content available on PS and doing everything possible to make it a possibility.

I've been playing the same character for a year. I can't get into anything else with other people because I feel like the game isn't as expansive as Oblivion was. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Skyrim but Oblivion was my stuff. I could create 3 characters and max their stats in less than 2 weeks. Skyrim just bores me sometimes.

To the mod that posts a new thread: me thinks it would be wise to include GStaff and Pete's latest update
It does change things quite a bit

I've got one character I've worked on for over a year, thisnew one I reached level 15 in no time flat, I created atlest five character deleated all but two of them, a Khajit and a nord. I have morrowind on my PC so I'm going to start playing that again.

It sounds like great news but this statement has me a bit worried.

"We're not getting into the specifics of what content is being released right now, but we are working on bringing content to PS3 and PC. It'll be content that's not already on those platforms."

This could mean a lot of things.
1. It could mean that PS3 gets Dawnguard and nothing else yet, and PC gets Dragonborn.
2. Could also mean that both will get Dragonborn but PS3 still won't get Dawnguard and Hearthfire.
3. Could also mean that both get Dragonborn and PS3 get both Dawnguard and Hearthfire too.
4. Could also be a whole new small dlc that Xbox doesn't have.

I am not overly enthusiastic about it yet but at least it is a step in the right direction. Though "being close" is still a bit vague, in fact it is much like the "coming soon" statement that the gaming industry likes so much and that I have had span from as little as a month to around half a year if not more.

Guess we will see what happens but at least I am getting a little more positive about the whole thing.

Was thinking about something like this as i watched my WED. night programs on Cw. Personally i'd be stoked if they bundled the stuff i been wanting from DG(ammo crafting, crossbows, etc.) into a PS3 version of Dragonborn and called it a wrap. Would go a super long way in retaining me as a customer for products after Bethesda moves on from Skyrim.

Will have to see what happens of course, but a very substantial step was taken today in digging themselves out of a very nasty and dark hole.

Yeah if they can keep it up... If not they will slide right back down the hole again.

Hopefully we'll be getting the full editions of Dawnguard and Hearthfire. Getting just a small DLC with new weapons or skill/crafting trees wouldn't really do it for me.

I've done so much of the vanilla content multiple times that I desperately need some new places to explore and goals to accomplish if I'm going to be willing to pick Skyrim back up again.

I believe Gstaff have said it's not a patch but the fact the statment is vague also leaves me a bit pesimisitic as well. It does seem strange that they can't say what exactly it is even if it's not exactly finished yet.

Really not gonna get my hopes up. Its nice to have a different update than the usual "we're working on it" but this is still really vague. What DLC, when is it anticipated for release? That sort of detail would be nice. Plenty games end up being pushed back if not ready but when is Beth hoping it'll be ready by? I think it may be Dragonborn and not the others but that is just my feeling, I may well be wrong. Still whatever it is I may wait and see how broken it is before buying

Addition: just been reading the Skyrim general thread where GStaff has been teasing a little more. Not much but it's good he's been interacting.

He siad they have made progress. So he is obvislly referring to Dawnguard as Dawnguard is the only thing they been working on to get up to par with the PS3. And what ever the problem was with Dawnguard they problly have solved the main issues with the other DLCs....

Hmm, Twitter account says "NEW DLC for PS3 & PC", nothing about progress.

Tbh if it's not free DLC, I'm not touching it. I don't put it past Beth to release paid for dlc to deliberately generate feedback on how many PS3 users can run it well enough and then use that data as a decision on whether to release a known buggy dawnguard.

Sorry if that's rather pessimistic but I no longer trust anything Beth do, they have screwed me over one too many times.

They'll release the DLC when it's ready rather than have it blowup in the face if they released a damaged product, stop nitpicking and yes it is nitpicking.

Also Deniisa that's what sony does they give you software that's all good but has hidden code in their software to take your personal info for their general use in whatever way they choose, the sooner you accept this is how companies work the easier it becomes.

Ya I use Arvak now just to avoid shadowmare's aggression, my wife picked up frost on her thief a few nights ago.

I don't nitpick, first off. And I was referring to what they have been working on not when they will release the DLC. I for one have always wanted the game developers to take their time building a game ever scence Kights of the old Republic II: Sith Lords was rushed and unfinshed....
