PS3 Release for Dawnguard, DLC etc... #35

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 8:50 pm

They are still full priced on the other platforms. To ask for a discount when they don't get one is not fair to them. Now if they experience a pricedrop and PSN has full price listed, I wouldn't pay for it then. Whatever the price is on one platform should be the price for all.

isn't there a discount on xbox live for DG + HF at the moment? if that's the case, i think it would be fair to introduce the "old" dlc with a reduced price.

I don't understand how its not news.

They went from 'we are not sure we can solve this problem' - meaning get out your torch and pitchforks, its time to form a lynch mob on BGS doorstep.

Now they are saying, 'soon new content is coming'.

Even if we don't like the vaguery (sp?) it is certainly news.

So tomorrow I'm trading in Skyrim. I'm sure the DLC will come out sooner or later but I'm tired of waiting, and some good games are waiting for me. Gotta trade in Skyrim while it still has some value to it.

Just curious, what is the going trade-in credit on Skyrim now?

Can anyone confirm whether this is in the "standard" (DLC in menu) manuals?

If it's not, that's a strong indicator that DLC was to be more than just a "timed" exclusive (PC manuals do not mention DLC, either).

It's not. http://imgur.com/35LvE

Ouch. I'd just hold onto it as a curiosity for that pittance.

I'd also like the werewolf perk tree and Vampire lord form and Crossbows.

I have decided that I'm going to buy a PC so that I can play Elder Scrolls Online! Won't be picking up Skyrim though as that would be a betrayal of my PS3.

On a less exciting note any new progress since yesterday?

@ Azrim - can you do us a HUGE favor and check to see if your XBox manual lists the DLC menu item? It would be interesting to see if the XBox was the only platform with this initially listed.

Thank you!

Yes it does list it  Not sure how that will help

I just took care of a demand from a raging beast more dangerous then anything in Skyrim. A beast that does not understand the words shut up!! A beast that can only be calmed by giving it what it wants...what is this terrible beast MY STOMACH!!!

I hope that if we really are getting Dawnguard and the other DLCs, that they actually function really well. If they're as buggy as the 360 and PC versions were when they launched, I imagine there will be Hell to pay. Taking an extra five months to release something only to have it function shoddily isn't going to do them any favors. That could have worked a month or two after the PC version came out, but at this point it really needs to function superbly to justify the silence and long amount of time it took to get done.

I doubt they could get away with that - wasn't the excuse that it didn't work properly on all systems the excuse they gave for not releasing as planned in the first place? Then again their idea of an acceptable standard and ours seems to be poles apart, evidenced by the dreadful state they released the vanilla game in.

Well that explains how I find a giant green pipe and wrapped to -1 world in Skyrim and I thought Mario was making a special appearance

That's how I feel. I did trade Skyrim to my friend for Unchartered II GOTY, Heavy Rain Director's Cut, and Arkham Asylum GOTY (obviously I was late to the PS3). It was a great deal for me, I like to think. Since it looks like the PS3 will be getting something, maybe I'll pick up a used Skyrim GOTY version down the line. No way I'm paying full price for a Bethesda game any more.

Well, we can only hope that Bethesda have learned their lessons from the 'Fallout 3' days.. remember back then, DLC wasn't even announced for the PS3 at E3 '08 (only the 360/PC) and when it did finally show up, it was broken, glitchy and full of bugs.. they didn't spend any of that extra time (4-9 months) we had to wait, to fix it.

I wouldn't know for sure, but the DG bought seperately is still the equivalent of $20 USD.

I know Steam had a DG+HF sale for for %20 off, which for $20 you essentially got HF for free. That has since ended and was a Steam sale, not made by Microsoft or anyone else.

Remember what the PSStore, XBMP, and Steam actually are: Retailers. Retailers can control when they do bundles and sales, but of course manufacturer can deem them too. Bottom line, the price of the individual dlc's is still their original price of $20 and $5. The bundle that came out was a retailer bundle, at least on Steam as I don't recall ever seeing that deal on XBMP.

As I said, if Bethesda authorized a sale at any time that would lower the price of content, it should be for everyone. They haven't yet.

I've not even been on these forums for months, stopped playing Skyrim altogether. I do have an Xbox but refused to trade in my PS3 version to get it. I don't really want to give Beth anymore of my money. I only came back to on here as I started to replay Oblivion. I used to look at the news everyday hoping to see a DLC fix, but to be honest I don't even care anymore. Even if they do release a PS3 version I don't think I'll buy it anyway. Bethesda's lazy game making has ruined the Skyrim experience for me. I hope they do release it for the other PS3 users who haven't lost faith. And yes I didn't buy Dishonoured even though I know Beth was only the publisher. Their name is mud to me.

Hines just tweeted this -
"All we can tell you is what we put out on Wed. Further info when I have it."
Perhaps we'll finally get 1.8 patch on Wednesday, perhaps even more.
