PS3 Release for Dawnguard.

Have them saying something is better then not saying anything, but that doesn't mean I'm happy with what they have been doing.

We'll see who has the last laugh. But just to make it fun, after Dawnguard is released on ps3, im gonna hit you up and you have to say that you were wrong. Deal? (im serious btw)
Wrong about what? I never gave a definitive answer. I just said there's a chance it might not get released if they don't iron out the kinks. And if they are yet to get the kinks out of the vanilla game the chances of the release are slim. Read my other post slower next time.

I also predicted that 1.06 would never come to ps3 (check my old posts) and it's not.

Im saying that you're wrong about the joke being on me, genius.

Also im pretty sure reading a post saying that 1.06 would be rolled into 1.07

Oh Really your not satisfied with Dawnguards performance on the PS3? Neither am I, because I don't have it, because I have a Playstation. You say you want everyone to have a chance to play dawnguard, yet you give M$ a 30 day exclusive to it, so you seriously took time out of your day to make sure PC and PS3 DIDN'T get it. You wont release it for PS3 knowing that my gameplay experience will be worse?? Serious? It going to take two months to make it playable on my PS3...thats insane.

Oh wow FREE UPDATES for my broken game that had such lag after 60 hours of game play I couldn't play it at all, then I get a patch where if i walked waist deep in water my game crashed every single time, needless to state all the minor bugs that all add'ed up including but not limited too Skjor ressurecting after he had died in the companions quest or maybe when I killed a dragon in the air it would in-diffidently spiral forever into the air into space, or maybe when I killed a dragon on the ground it would fall through the floor and I get no soul. Also tell me are there other games that charge money for updates, because I haven't ever owned a game where i was charged for updates for my broken product. Oh really your going to talk to me about your user mods in the same news AS THE PS3 DELAY, echem "PS3" meaning I cant have those, ever, because I play this game on my playstation... Oh and the paid DLC...lol which I don't have... Yah I doubt your as disappointed as I am..keep striving for whatever [censored] reality your in, wish I could be there with you.

When I got home from my mediocre day out I see a PS3 update, received massive boner, then I read it and started crying. Seriously not even a [censored] guess at when it will be ready. You tell me you don't want hostile post's..Lol did you read the same thing I read? Honestly I wanted to put this entire post in all caps and all you would be able to read is the classic "[censored]" I would be less hostile if the news I have been waiting for didn't feel like they kicked my dog and punched me in the crotch, just the most smug cocky post ever especially the "Free updates" who the hell are you? I'm sure because my post is full of me not being happy it will just be deleted anyway by some mod who just isn't really waiting for Dawnguard and who didn't already put money into his PSN account that is non refundable the day Dawngaurd was announced. Whatever, I'm clearly unhappy.

BTW..about the free update...I'm still missing 1.6/1.7-JUST saying.
Best. Post. Today.

You sir, made me laugh. I can chuckle myself to sleep now. And I agree with you 100%.

Bethesda took exclusitivity money from Microsoft and it might not launch on PS3 altogether

There will be a PS3 version of Dawnguard, you just have to wait for them to get the industrial strength can of raid to kill all the bugs. They do say good things are worth waiting for, now how long are you willing to wait for the best version of Dawngaurd? Considering all the complaints about the Xbox 360 version, can you blame them for wanting to get the PS3 version right the first time.

The fact that dawnguard is going to be delayed doesn't really bother me Ill just be happy when it gets here. now the 1.6 (now 1.7) fiasco is a different story. I can understand the withholding of the DLC due to the timed exclusivity , but there was no reason for them to withhold a patch that fixes major glitches and keep silent about it for so long. that is what pissed me off more so than the DLC.

Reading the statement about Dawnguard and the PS3, there's still no real confirmation that the PS3 will ever get it.

We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3. We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren’t going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people’s experience in Skyrim will be worse. We do everything we can to have our content available to all; from our free updates, to user mods, to paid DLC. We’re as disappointed as our fans when that isn’t the case, but we’ll continue to push for that reality.

Bolded and italicized for emphasis.

They don't even say that they're still working on it. This could very well be saying "We tried to get Dawnguard running of the PS3, but it's not working out. So no DLC for the PS3," and nothing more. It actually seems a rather defeatist message.

This is supposedly a AAA Blockbuster developer. This is absurd they can't get DLC working "properly". Go back to school.

But seriously, you should have done this before 11.11.11 and released Skyrim 4-5 months later when it became playable.
If they delayed the game for the sake of one platform, many would be pissed. And if they release a game with a note that they are holding back a platform to fix bugs, the useres of that platform would be pissed.

You cant win.

Agreed. Strange how they were not that concerned when Skyrim released with pretty major issues on Ps3. Dawnguard must really be bad if Bethesda is not releasing it yet. The impression I got from the statement is while Bethesda would like to release it on ps3, it is no gurantee they make it playable enough to release it.

I am sure they could given enough time, but they probably want to focus on the future DLC fo 360 and PC.

And if they did release the PS3 version with the current bugs that are delaying it, the forum would explode with more outrage.

Microsoft buys exclusitivity rights, PC gets it Next, PC is mostly Microsoft

this is obviously an under the table contract. the DLC is finished, ported, and half-assed tested by the 3 employees that they have to beta test. Bethesda had no problem giving "patches" to Ps3 only to make things worse, why they dont dish out a DLC that can potentially destroy our playstations is a suprise to me.

I'm a PS3 user, but I don't feel the need to vent, doesn't change anything bar my blood pressure.
I'll just sit tight and wait, I'll than cheer when it is released.

Its not going to be released for PS3. The opening post from beth blog said "We aren't going to release it for PS3" .

Maybe I am being a bit negative. It is very possible Bethesda decided to change while they were sleeping last night. The days of them not being concerned about the quality of their products on Playstation 3 are a thing of the past.

Your missing the point though....have you ever considered that maybe, "just maybe" the 1.6 patch for the PS3 was delayed because it required Bethesda to modify a significant part of the PS3 Skyrim code base to get it to work right? not to mention the fact they may be trying to also fix other bugs in the PS3 version related to performance as well as other things? Have you considered the posibility that this may be taking longer then expected, and they don't want to rush things? I remember Tood Howard specifically saying they were not going to make the same mistake they made with the 1.1 or was it 1.2 patch that broke magic resistance....

Bethesda is going to get your version taken care of, but you have to give them a fair chance.....and they don't want to repeat the mistake that happened with the PS3 launch having problems. They learned from that mistake so give them just a litle bit of credit.....It will get fixed....

Oblivion was ported by 4J studios for the PS3 version and it was fine. Fallout 3 has exactly the same problems regarding performance as Skyrim does. So no it won't get fixed...

Dear Bethesda,

Thank you for the free updates. None of us expected you guys to transform this picture book into a game. Most companies make customers pay for patches that make their games playable, and that's what separates you from the pack.

If this is too hard for you to keep this fine work up you may want to hand this franchise off to another company that likes to write stories and has more than 1 programer.

Don't get me wrong, this is an EXCELLENT game, but you guys seem to be having kind of a hard time.

Something tells me they could win if the official statement wasn't: "We are making sure the game is perfect before release, isn't that incredibly considerate and noble of us?! You should buy more Bethesda products to thank us! And let's not forget all the free patches, user mods and DLCs we support! Yknow, all the things PS3 hasn't gotten! You're welcome, fans, you're welcome for ho awesome we are!"

but rather:

"Sadly the PS3 version is still buggy to a point where releasing it in this condition would not be acceptable. We understand the frustration with the delays for PS3 and we're working hard to get them all taken care of. Our sincerest apologies to our PS3 fans, we'll try to have more news as soon as it becomes available."

I mean color me skeptical, but major game-breaking PS3 issues have existed at LEAST since New Vegas. It's been 2 years and they still can't figure out how to design a game for PS3? Skyrim's initial release was buggy as hell, and they STILL can't go into Dawnguard knowing full well that PS3 is an issue they need to be ready and prep for?

It was pretty obvious the PC Dawnguard would be arriving before the PS3 Dawnguard. At least there is some form of communication and a reason for not releasing it yet.

I guess it's hard to write a post-it note reminding them to fix it when they're busy patting themselves on the back for being so awesome and good looking.
