PS3 Release for Dawnguard. #2

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 6:11 pm

So no Dawnguard at all? Or are they actually trying to get it to work for PS3?

Honestly I don't know.. I guess it's how you interrupt this sentence from their official statement..

".. We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren't going to release it for the PS3 knowing that some people's experience in Skyrim will be worse.."

So right now, it's just a continued unknown. Guess I can dust off my laptop and get the DLC there. See how well it does hooked to the TV for some real time gaming. Dang thing gets a lot hotter than the PS3 while gaming so I prefer to not stress it :P

Right now I'm just happy our PC brothers/sister have it now, this is good news, as we surely cannot be too far behind. Either way i'm being patient and re-playing other games to wait :-) I do have 1 question however does anyone know how much it is going to be in Great British Pounds?

Most likely around £13-15.

Xbox 1600 msp / around £14
Steam £14

Wrong.

EA are in my bad books too. I'm thinking about jumping ship back to PES.

That means (in my opinion) that they will not release it in the state its in at the moment. I guarantee we will get either this month, september or early october at the latest. It will take a miracle for them to release it this month. I still have faith in them for not making us pay for something that's unplayable. I think its good for us to get it last we will have least bugs and glitches.

dont change the subject.
it has nothing to do with skyrim , bethesda or dawnguard.
and we all know it by now, you not the first to make a comment on this.

I think their blog post is a lie. They haven't been diligently working on a damn thing for PS3. After releasing: FO3:GOTY, FONV+DLC, which was followed recently by FONV:UE and Skyrim - all broken for PS3 - we are supposed to believe they have had some corporate 'change of heart' and now give a damn about PS3 users? This is the same company that KNOWINGLY sold me something utterly broken in November, only to make me wait until February to even approach fixing it. But now they care so much that they are withholding buggy product? I don't think so. But even if you are taking their word this doesn't make them look any better, now they are just truly incompetent or irresponsible. The latter because they have stopped supporting the PS3 3 months ago and barely got the game running. The former because they have been working with the same game engine for like 10 years and the PS3 hardware specs have been known for like six. Protip Bethesda - get the Vanilla Skyrim working well first and then it would have been easier to add content. You did the bare minimum to stop the torrent of hate and gamer mag articles and then dropped the ball. I expect they're not going to do anything to optimize DG for PS3, but that mysteriously it will appear in a GOTY edition for PS3 and like FONV:UE it will be incredibly broken, and unsupported.

Well, put 2 and 2 together:
1 - a well known fact: Micro$oft is paying Bethe$da millions of dollars, to determine Beth to discriminate against the arch rival console (to drive players to the Xbox platform)
2 - Bethesda is constantly delivering a subpar experience to PS3 players (huge delays, very poor optimizations, etc, etc...)!
Is it broken by design?(well, they are in bed with your arch enemy, so draw your own conclusions!).

Hey guys when I first heard that Dawnguard was going to be exclusive to XBOX I was kind of disappointed but there are now rumors going around that Dawnguard might be released for PS3  which I hope is true I know that XBOX is a much better platform then PS3 or PC because they pay for XBOX Live and there information can not get hacked or there credit cards stolen so it's only fair that they get Dawnguard but if PS3 gets it to I will be a happy mortal compared to those of the master race, So I can only get one $20 PSN card and I was planning on getting Armored Kill for BFBC3 so does anybody know when they might release it or confirm it to know which one I get first, Also I think the mounted combat is cool before if I pressed x on my horse it would do nothing but now when I do it neighs  So I want to thank bethosda for that feature.

Also does anybody know how I can fight on my horse I've tried using axes, sword, maces, one handed weapons, daggers, magic, and bows but nothing works is there a specific horse I can do this on or do I have to unlock a specific perk, Thanks in advance guys say hello to your mothers for me.

What? Tell that to Naughty Dog, Capcom, BioWare, Valve, Ubisoft, Rockstar, Rocksteady, EA, Activision, Konami, Namco Bandai, Avalanche, From Software, Quantic, etc...have you lost your mind?

You missed out Criterion Games ;)

I'm only really waiting to see how effective the 1.06 err 1.07 patch is as I can't see myself getting Dawnguard partly due to uninteresting plotlines, partly due to probable price and mainly because I can see it crippling the game on PS3.

IF the blogpost can be believed they have actually tried it with the installed game so they are trying, but given bugs that have got past the QA such as the water freezing of 1.05 I have to assume that the game must have really REALLY fallen to bits quite dramatically to get noticed. Small picky point but you can't actually delay something that has no notified release date but nevermind. ;)

Yeah the crap that the PS3 players are going through is really starting to get out of hand.
I usually have a “crap happens, shrug it off and don't complain” attitude toward life and these sort of things, but this really is getting out of hand. My heart goes out to you guys.

it might also be that skyrim works better on the older PS3(the big ones) i never had the lag problem exept if i played for over 10 hours in a row and on a rare occation the game craches but for the rest i only encoutered bugs simular to the xbox360 versions bugs. so i think im incredebly lucky i buyed my PS3 on the release date.
sa for fable2 it was really unplayable for me sometimes i coudnt target enimies or spells that didnt work properly and my XBOX crashed alot on that game.
that game was the whole reason i try to buy most on my games on the PS3 if possable.
No. I have an original ps3 with an updated 500 gb hardrive and FO was a mess. I bought FO NV for Xbox because I learned a lesson...only to get the mysterious save game breaking "no dlc found/corrupted glitch" when the dlc wasnt even released yet.
So, after hearing about all the attention the ps3 skyrim was getting for Tweet Hines I bought it on ps3. Massive fail.
So in other words Bethesda just can't get anything right. On any system.

PS3 version of Oblivion didnt receive all the DLCs like 360/PC did. Why would it be different this time, especially considering the massive save files that cause lag? Skyrim save files are alot larger than Oblivions. Every DLC is going to increase your save file. Players in the ps3 section have lag without the dlc. My guess is the bean counters dont want the developers to spend time and money on the ps3 version dlc. They washed their hands on it so to speak and will work on DLCs for 360/PC instead. Beth blog post doesn't give a concrete direct answer if PS3 will receive DLC. It can be interpreted that we aren't getting the dlc.

Regarding the official statement, all I have to say is, "When has that ever stopped them before?" And I don't mean that to be a complete burn, although it works out nicely that way. Seriously though, consider Skyrim. There ARE some nasty bugs in Skyrim, some have been patched, some remain at large. You can't tell me when they were beta testing the game that they didn't reach the point where they knew it was polished "enough" to be released. I'm sure they had an inkling of the PS3 issues, and they knew about other bugs regardless. I'm not saying this is an entirely bad thing, eventually you have to release the game, you can't polish it infinitely, I know that, but that was my point. Unless Dawnguard is a broken unplayable mess on the PS3, I think releasing it is perfectly acceptable. Dawnguard has bugs already anyway, just let the PS3 players have at it, while you work out a fix for the game. It's been their business model so far and it has worked out.

Since the PS3 doesn't even get dlcs for oblivion as far as I know. Why would you think Skyrim would be any better? Some games are just better on different consoles. So either get a 360 or get it for PC both of which are better ways to play Skyrim.

There is sooo much wrong with this game. To all who continually say that the PS3 is hard to code for: You have been debunked; repetedly, stop bring it up. Stop blaming sony for Beth's failures

With the improvements on framerate with patches compared to 11/11/11, I dont agree. Beth just didn't put in equal optimization for PS3 like with 360. No excuse for how Skyrim ran when it was released.

Don't know about better on the 360 (didn't get the PS3 version of Skyrim, even though I played Oblivion/Fallout 3/Fallout NO on it).. in the 210Hrs I've been playing (multiple characters) on my 360.. I've had 12 save game file corruptions.. plenty of lag/slowdowns.. sorry, but the 'Civil War' attack on Whiterun was a freaking slideshow for me, items disappearing from my inventory, quest markers not updating or quests not starting (just sitting there in the journal) and on 6 occasions (and that's 6 times too many) I had the game just go to black screen and do nothing, nothing worked, not the 360 controller or trying to turn off the 360 - had to physically unplug it.

Bethesda has know ever since they agreed to a 30 day Xbox exclusive that Ps3 (and PC) users would be anxious to get DLC of their own, now that it has been 38 days and there is still no dawnguard release in sight just shows that they don't really give a flip about PS3 users.

There's no magical horse, sorry. Those features are only available on PC and 360.
