PS3 Release for Dawnguard. #2

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 9:43 am

Until bethesda learns to keep their word, i am no longer buying any game from them after Dawnguard. Their excuse is technical difficulties. Doesnt 30 days seem long enough to start testing and correcting such problems? Im starting to think this whole thing is a tactic to build anxiousness in people who are waiting so the profits will be tramendous once it finally does, IF EVER, be released. Thanks bethesda, you have lost me as a customer to only care about money and not the gamers

Bugthesda is too far up Microsoft's ass to ever even contemplate that. They'd be crazy to take money from Microsoft and then offer the DLC to Sony for a discounted price.

Well frankly, what they're doing is ILLEGAL. Releasing a broken product and not even releasing it at a slight discount at the very least. If a company released a product. Say a DVD player that only worked with certain TV's and crapped out really frequently on a specific TV then they would be sued, why arent they being sued for this? Why arent they issuing a huge apology and OFFERING a discount? Why do they expect us to take this?

4J are PS3 experts though. If they are still around, the question which interests me is why did Beth not bring them on board? And are they going to swallow their dev-pride and bring them in on future titles?
That was my point though 4js may indeed be PS3 experts but Beth has had how many years to learn the PS3 to code on it and they still can't? I would also like to know about using 4js in the future it sure as hell would be nice because then the game would run fine.

Because they have no obligation. When we bought the game, we entered into a legally binding contract. Comes with every single copy of the game, and Digital Copies make you accept a ToA.

In the video game industry I don't think what they are doing is considered illegal. It kinda svcks that we don't have consumer protection law's for the game industry to prevent crap like this. Maybe in the furture if other companies resort to stuff like this which I hope to hell never happens.

you know what scares me how buggy the dlc would have to be to delay ps3 release I mean these guys released fallout 3 goty edition for ps3 mothership zeta froze on the opening cinematic and the water freezing from 1.5 (which many people are still dealing with) this must be the buggiest dlc in the history of dlc if Bethesda thought they had to take some extra time to fix it

Bethesda is the buggiest developer.. There next game probably use the Bug-Engine aswell.. I wonder when Bethesda will learn that the Creation Engine is bad.. They have a great one in their back pocket yet they don't use it..

I think your pauses are due to lack of excercise, go check outside, a new thing was developed. No names are in stone, but were just calling it, "The sun". Great for your skin ;)

Just kidding bro dont have a heart attack (see what i did there?)

Just like before, i dont mind waiting, but an update would be great. I know we at least have the confirmation, but something along the lines of, this month, next month, etc would appease some of the fans. Im just tired of constantly checking these forums to be dissapointed.

What does 30 days have to do with anything? For all you know they had no even started porting the PS3 version when the Xbox 360 version was ready for beta testing. Personally I think they started them all at the same time and the PS3 version is just taking longer. But unless they actually tell us, there is no reason to assume all three versions were at the same stage of development.

30 days is the xbox exclusive time each bethesda game is allowed to microsoft before ps3. Microsoft pays off bethesda to have each game a month before any other console. This i could deal with. But instead of fixing bugs within that time (which is appearantly whats wrong with the ps3 version) they decide to jerk off behind their desks as the 30 days goes by and appearantly they used the same excuse for delays in previous games they have produced in the past ( fo3, fonv, oblivion, etc...)

I believe 4j studios is a bit busy lately. I believe they were the ones who handled Minecraft 360 edition? I agree they did a good job with Oblivion for the most part. Frankly i was surprised when I had so many problems with Fallout 3 since Oblivion played so well. Obviously it was because Bethesda handled Fallout 3 themselves.

Guys most of the TES fans are on PC/XBox. So I highly doubt we will get it. If they hire 4js to do it again I would have a BONER. My advice to you is keep an eye on BethBlog, twitter and PSStore.

Don't know about better on the 360 (didn't get the PS3 version of Skyrim, even though I played Oblivion/Fallout 3/Fallout NO on it).. in the 210Hrs I've been playing (multiple characters) on my 360.. I've had 12 save game file corruptions.. plenty of lag/slowdowns.. sorry, but the 'Civil War' attack on Whiterun was a freaking slideshow for me, items disappearing from my inventory, quest markers not updating or quests not starting (just sitting there in the journal) and on 6 occasions (and that's 6 times too many) I had the game just go to black screen and do nothing, nothing worked, not the 360 controller or trying to turn off the 360 - had to physically unplug it.
i this it true than the PS3 version was mutch more playable than you XBOX360 version, i never had a single savegame corruption or problems with my quest markers also never had to pull the plug on my PS3 and the lag was mutch less than what you make me believe with what you writing.
if what you say is all true why do people claim the PS3 version is worse.

PS3 was probably the most buggy one before Dawnguard (I have friends that play on PS3 and Skyrim was nearly unplayable for them). Dawnguard will probably add on to the bugs and make it worse. Unless, Bethesda is actually fixing it like they say they are.

Remember guys, these people are probably making Fallout 4 right now, using the exact same engine, with the exact same quality of coding. The fact they are still unable to overcome their issues with the PS3 means Fallout 4 is going to suffer. They have shown themselves to be incapable of producing a technically smooth experience for PS3 gamers. History will repeat itself. Fallout 4 will come out and the PS3 version will have the same issues Skyrim did.
