New to the forum, just wanted to speak at the bolded bit of the following
Probably Bethesda knew there was a chance there would be a delay, or they would have at least given a release date for the PC version once they knew when the Xbox 360 version was officially released. They were very quiet, never said anything about release dates for the PC or PS3 versions. I can understand them saying noting, a publisher of another franchise I play always rushes dates out the door before they are a sure thing, they are just too enthusiastic, and the fans really hate being given a date that turns out not to be right. Better to say nothing than to give a date and not have it ready by then.
Not picking on the poster here, but moreso the sentiment which i have seen around on the net various places. Saying nothing can be the worst possible thing to do sometimes. And i can safely say this is one of those times.
"Due to unforeseen technical issues, both the PC and PS3 versions of the Dawnguard DLC are taking longer than expected to be made ready for release. Please bear with us while we work to remedy this situation. We will be getting updated info out as it becomes available. Thanks in advance for your understanding."
There is a three sentence blurb that would have forestalled a great deal of grief that Bethesda has had to deal with on this issue to date. Hindsight is 20/20 and all that, but imo if something of that level had been released the day after the 360 exclusivity period had ended, they would have been golden. True, there still would have been a nice little uproar, but it would have been nothing like what happened. And it would have subsided rather quickly most likely.
Resentment is the only good thing to come out of the silence from Bethesda. Though it was good for rival game devs sadly.
