PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #5

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 2:35 pm

I too hope for dawngaurd on tuesday but im putting money down it wont. For one, theyve already announced what will be in the PSN store update, and no dawngaurd mentioned. Second, there hasnt been an update on the ps3 version in a while making me think its worse then they thought, or thirdly, they just like watching us suffer.

Nah jk, its also possible, someone said this along time ago i forget who, that theyre delaying releasing so that the ps3 has the LEAST amount of bugs. Kinda like a "We're Sorry" present. Its unlikely i know, but meh.

On a brighter side, tuesday releases Darksiders 2 on the PSN! I wont be picking it up though. I have bills :(.

Haha this we're sorry present pissed people off more than just giving it to us xD

If that were the case after seeing all the uproar they could have just released it assuming it was ready but just as buggy as the other systems.

I'm hopeful for tuesday as well, but as some of you said, I highly highly doubt tuesday. It'd be a great surprise if it actually were out tuesday, but I really really doubt it. But that's what would make it a great surprise...

So many people already completed it. I've been watching vampires ragdoll trolls and blasting dragons away, I made a new dark elf character and stuff so I could be better against fire and cause they look more sinister, almost gotten 2 characters able to make deadric armor, and I'm evading most the main quest and the dark brotherhood guild until I can become a VL...

VL as dark brotherhood just seems epic to me for whatever reason.

You win this round, that like..the only room thats never upgraded is the housecarl room......man...I feel bad for my housecarl now :/.

Me too. I felt bad for her sleeping down there even before I thought of it as a doggie bed. :(

You think after purchasing the most expensive house in all of Skyrim you would be able to provide your Housecarl with at least a real bed.

Hopefully no one flames you for the pandas.

I understand they were part of the lore before kung fu panda, but kung fu panda is just so well known and that bit of info isn't so people just typically begin to bash it.

I am one of those who don't know much about WoW lore, so I didn't know either. I still think of kung fu panda though.

I do agree that they did some stupid crap, and should've released the first copy once all the systems were finished. But still honoring the agreement with microsoft and giving it to them 30 days in advance. But the second that 30 day timer went up, immediately put up the PC and PS3 versions.

And you are aware that the coding for a PS3 and 360 are completely different right? The difference between the systems isn't only in the case and the starting menu. They've been having hell getting the game decent for PS3 over the last 8 months, They svck at coding for the PS3. Assuming that they're very close in coding and shouldn't take more than 2 days to get onto each others systems equally is like expecting to run internet explorer on DOS. Both operating systems, but very different. Although the difference would probably be more like windows to mac seeing how DOS is so very drastically different. Most people probably don't even know what it is.

I also do agree that they're a bit biased to microsoft.

But, the microsoft time is up. It's just plain them at this point as to why the game is not ready. Microsoft is completely uninvolved at this point, they only did the 30 day delay which is up. So they're out of the equation. Bethesda wouldn't say, OOH 30 day vacation!!!!

No they spent those 30 days trying to finish up their kind of half assed DLC.

No offense, I like the idea of the DLC and stuff but from all the bugs I'm hearing about and graphical issues, a few actually game breaking bugs when looking at the forum, it does sound rushed and half assed. But Bethesda, GIMME THE HALF ASSED WORK! lol I would gladly be in the same boat as the 360 players with their bugs. I mean I've only experienced no crashing since 1.7 was issued so what's so horrible about me going back to it? xD

But yeah, I'd say you're looking at things a bit too skewed. Yes they kind of screwed us over a little bit, customers are displeased. And I think it very well could take over a month to make a DLC transfer to another system. And I do think it could very well be another month or two. We're in the dark, it's not good news to hear no news.

We have no choice but to wait. But I'd love for bethesda to come out and tell me if it's 6 months, 2 months, a week, or what lol. PM me I'll stay quiet. If you lied then I'll just continue to stay quiet, and go back to speculating based off of the situation.

And programming isn't very simple. PS3 has had a great deal more issues compared to the 360 since release.

I'm upset and hold it against bethesda for not having more competent programmers when other companies do just fine on PS3, I hold it against them for not having all systems versions up and running at a playable level before releasing to 360, but in no way at all is this microsoft unless Bill Gates has sneak lvl 1000 and microsoft went behind everyones back and paid off bethesda to have a silent further delay for sony players, and then crouched so he magically disappeared xD

Microsoft isn't part of our equation any longer, unless... sneak lvl 1000

Oh and random question, please don't take it offensively, but is there a reason you capitalize the first letter of every word and not the s in PS3? It comes across as excited, but not angry excited, just excited lol.

It would take me like an extra 2-3 minutes to type everything I did that way.

I think,

that Bethesda shouldnt releas the DLC on the Xbox in the first place, if they wasnt 100% sure that they will release this DLC for other platforms after that 30days exculsivity. They should finnish all 3 (Xbox, PC, PS3) DLC versions first, than they should release Xbox version and after 30 days they should releas all other DLCs.

If the GotY is out then xD

game of the decade! lol

But seriously Bethesda needs new coders for PS3. Maybe they got them now, who knows. 1.7 worked for me quite a bit, haven't crashed yet, no bugs that I know of really, so I'm happy with 1.7. It's how I expect a game to be.

My buddy said something that was super funny the other day. He said, maybe some really stupid intern at Bethesda accidentally deleted the DG code...

Well Bethesda has lost my money on this DLC. I was looking forward to it, but at this point any hype I once had has slowly dissipated. For them to spend so long working on this DLC for all platforms and then have a month exclusivity period to continue working on the DLC for the non exclusive consoles with the ultimate conclusion that "the PS3 version doesn't run well" is a disappointment to their company. They show a total lack of regard towards the PS3 and the problems with the DLC are most likely to do with the underlying buggy nature of the PS3 copy they never decided to fix. I do wonder how they plan to release subsequent DLC for the PS3 if the very first piece is causing problems. I can't imagine things will be going smoothly. Skyrim has vastly changed my views of Bethesda and it hurts me to say that. I love Bethesda games and typically long forward to them like a middle schooler looks forward to summer vacation. DLC gets me excited as well, but this whole situation has merely cumulated all the things that have been going wrong with the way Bethesda treats the PS3 and its ultimate impact has been my opinion of them as a company. Congratulations Bethesda, you have just lost an avid, devoted fan; not something easy to do.

I don't think that's even possible. The coding for the PS3 isn't like a Microsoft word document...

If it doesnt come out tommorow. WoW. Bethesda is more than screwing with us PS3 users. They better give it to us at a discount, or releasae the next dlc for ps3 first or at the same time as the xbox and pc. This is really pissing me off.

Honestly, I'm as pissed off as you are with the whole Skyrim on PS3 deal that we got, but this isn't going to happen. If you want it cheaper, you'll need to wait for the price drop. Maybe there will be one though because by the time it comes on PS3, the price drop will be in place across the board.

srry bethesda i bought this game the day it came out and enjoyed the mounted combat even though it came unforgivebly late, but school is starting soon i lost all interest since the 2 month delay which just because u guys r too cheap to hire good ps3 programers, but in the end ur going to lose out on even more money, u want dawnguard to work, fix the actual game 1st then, and dont release broken games which seems basic but obviously is not, and we dont care about a buggy dg cuz it will be buggy either way

Well, saying sorry or getting a minuet discount doesn't get Dawngaurd to me any quicker. All I want is a confirmed release date or even a "you'll have it within x amount of days, weeks, months" statement. I hate how they beat around the bush when asked for even an estimated release date. All I know is that If it's not out tomorrow by 7:05 pm then they won't be making any more money off of me until Thanksgiving. I knew I was a fool for investing in Sony; should've stuck with Xbox on this one.

Yea I could have gotten it on 360 as well, but picked it up for ps3 instead. I had no reason other than jus cuz to get it on ps3. A mistake I never make again.

Look, its hard to believe that DG will be released any time soon, if ever.

Their excuse about performance is dubious enough as it stands. However, we have already seen beta testers used for the xbox version of the add on, if a working version exists and it simply fails to meet Bethesdas usual high standards then why not open a small beta for the PS3 community?

Doing so should dispel rumours of DG never coming to PS3 and also help Beth's team get a better assessment.

But is people like you that Bethe$da wants! Why do you think Micro$oft paid them for? Saying and doing these kind of thing improve chances of Beth doing this fa.ggotry again with its future games.

Do not misunderstand me. I also have Skyrim for my PC, but I want DG for PS3. Hell, just by thinking about what they did with PS3 customers makes me sick, but by accepting our fate just proves to Bethe$da that we aren't a penny worth investing into.

I really just want a date. That's it.

I still say silence means we have a long wait.

Everyone seems really displeased at this point. People say it's just business and such but, "just business" is not an excuse to upset people. In business it'd be better to keep people in the loop with update notes and such.

I don't care if the game is buggy. They released it to everyone else buggy I can freaking play it buggy.

1) It's just business well they're failing at business tactics here. They should have had everything ready before the initial release to 360.

2) If it really is as people say and microsoft simply paid them off so heavily that they don't care, then that's horrible business. You don't keep customers by screwing them over.

3) all we want is an estimate. Not hard unless the entire game is so bugged that every time you fix a bug that you find another game breaking bug.

4) the PS3 is harder for them to code? Should have competent coders before taking up the challenge then. Same for if the game is just unplayable. Go back to #1.

Alot of people are upset now, the least they can do is shed a bit of light. Everyone is disappointed, and I'm sure the developers have some level of disappointment if they're actually working on it.

If they had to delay it until september/october? It's vampires. Halloween themed DLC!!!! lol
But if they just delay it for us until then, that's just crap...

Tell me about it. With the classes I have I'll rarely if ever be able to play my PS3/Xbox they'll be stuck in the closet until the next break which just so happens to be 2 1/2 months from now....
