PSN has released items on days other than Tuesday before.
not true sometimes it will update on Thursday to...

While this is true, They have only done so when said items didnt show on tuesday, Weekday releases are always in The Drop, a newsletter which tells you what the psn will have in the next couple days. If it was to come out this week, it still would have been announced.
Psn never has surpised. Believe me, i want it just as badly, but it just isnt going to happen this week.

Lol PS3 still has no Dawnguard and I still refuse to purchase it until my 1 month and 8 day timed exclusive on my money expires. Shame Bethesda has to sell out and baby the 360.

And boy am I a happy baby! :disguise:

Joking, anyway, I am starting to doubt Dawnguard will be coming this August. If it doesn't come by next Tuesday, then it will likely be in September. If not September, well, most likely before 2013!

I hope everyone can be civil about this subject. While it's perfectly fine to have a negative opinion about the lack of a solid release date, there is a way to express yourself in a civil and mature way. We do not want to see immature hostile posts :nono:

It has been http://www.bethblog.com/2012/08/02/dawnguard-ps3-update/ that the PS3 version will be delayed a bit as they are still working to ensure acceptable performance on the platform.

This is really good news for me, likely PS3 users will have a lot less issues with Dawnguard compared to the Xbox users, knowing Bethesda released it for them when it wasn't ready.

Yeah it is simple to narrow down the issue to just entertainment. When that happens it seems petty. However, narrowing my disappointment and anger down to simply a lack of patience is not even the tip of the iceberg. I am angry and disappointed because of the way Beth has handled this entire matter. The delay is really the side issue. If they came out at any time and told us that they would release Dawnguard on 9/28/12 then I'd be angry, but at least I'd have a clear end in sight. It isn't simply a delay that makes me angry dude.

Here is what I want.

I want Beth to be able to program for or pay to have their stuff ported to the PS3. - Not asking too much.

I (as a consumer) would like to be informed as to when and how much their products will cost so I can make plans for the purchase and be excited about the product. - This is good for me and for them.

I would like to be notified in a timely manner when there is a problem with a product they are trying to get to me, and told what their plan and timetable is to get it to me.

All these focus on communication, and skill at PR and Developing. Something Bethesda is obviously lacking in at this time.

Just to clarify, my post was aimed towards a whole bunch of posts that were deleted.

There were at least 10 posts back to back from the same member completely going off in a very derogatory fashion.

It's been three weeks now and still no news except "we are not happy about the PS3 version, so we will work on it". In the meanwhile you are like "What good is that to me?".

I studied trade in school and one of the most important things you learn is, keep the customer happy and up to date. If there are any problems fix them and as quick as possible. If it takes to long then give something extra like a reduction on the price or make a better price the next time. But whatever you do, don't lose a customer. And I tell you what, I may not be working for Bethesda, I may never own a company that big, but at least I know that what they are doing now is just plain wrong. No information, no compensation and in this case another console gets everything. That's like selling to one customer and saying to the next one "You get nothing sir/madam".

I guess I will have to invest my money on some other DLC or games. Maybe even the last DLC of Kingdoms Of Amalur, from a gaming company that doesn't exist anymore but still has DLC available.

I'm glad to hear Bethesda are taking their time and making sure everything is working fine for PS 3 users.

I have heard that the Vampire Cure Quest was never fully resolved in "Oblivion" and it's a shame that anyone should miss out on the full content of the game and everyone should get to experience it.

I had the PS3 GOTY version and the quest couldn't be completed yes, but you could solve it easily. You had to change your language on the console itself to GERMAN. That way the woman would accept the Bloodgrass because it would be called something like "Blutgras". Anyway, you can still complete the quest today by doing it like this. UESP listed the steps:
  • Upon reaching Melisande's house with the Bloodgrass, save and exit the game.
  • Change the PS3 system settings to make the default language German (other languages may work).
  • Reload the game. The game will now be in German, but the following steps are possible even if you do not understand German.
  • Talk to Melisande and select the "Blutgras" topic ("Blutgras" is German for "Bloodgrass").
  • After she has accepted the Bloodgrass, save and exit.
  • Set the PS3 default language back to English in the system settings.
  • Reload Oblivion and you can now finish the quest.

Good post. I agree completely. Bethesda could definitely help themselves by communicating better. It has been weeks since they released that short statement about the ps3 release. Even just providing an update saying they are still working hard on it and they apologize for the continued delay would help matters in my opinion. The longer they remain silent, the more likely some customers will lose interest and spend their money elsewhere.

While I still believe they will release Dawnguard on ps3, I do think it is possible that they may not have the patience or be willing to spend the resources to get it working on the ps3. I imagine future DLC could also cause Bethesda problems as well.

I try and remain optimistic though and think Bethesda will figure it out. We shall see.

I love how everyone keeps saying tuesday for psn release days. Yes it does update then but you do realize that they are willing to update for large releases. Its happened before. Don't narrow your focus to just tuesdays. It really can happen on any day if Sony is willing. Stay positive everyone

Wow.

At least there is a fix.

I play on the XBox 360 but I hate to hear of anyone not being able to access their stuff no matter what platform they play on.

We got our nephew a copy of "Skyrim" for his PS 3 and he will be pleased to learn that the "Dawnguard" DLC has been properly tested.

Read my previous post in this thread for more on this... but it goes so much deeper than simply having to wait for it to come out. For some reason people are reducing this issue to simple impatience on the part of PS3 users... which is simply untrue.

If you mean patience in waiting for the DLC to come out.. I have that, I created 3 more characters to tinker with, I'm good.

If you mean patience with a company who continues to break rules of capitalism, marketing, and PR management... then no sir. I am not and will not be patient.

Good post, pretty much sums up a lot of why it's so wrong that Beth. is doing this and I agree completely. Badass profile pic btw :) P.S: I got a $20 psn card when Dawnguard was announced, any suggestions how to spend it if it doesn't come out soon?

I made a character as well and it's now level 25 so I halted and went back to my main. I decided since on that one my magic is top notch, I would grab some armor and a sword/shield to level up a bit

Careful with this post. People are going to ignore it... and reduce you down to saying that basically you are impatient. I have been saying this for 3+ threads now but people still don't get how trade, marketing, PR, and essentially how capitalism works.

Who cares if your character got too awesome. I have a level 81 dark elf that is poised to be the best VL that has ever walked the earth. Magic out the wazoo (over 800 I think, maybe even 900)

Just make another character and start over... it looks as though you will have time... :(

Dawnguard will come out on October on PS3 and by that time The Pc and Xbox Version will have 2 new DLC....Just like what happened with Fallout New Vegas..Ps3 got DLC 3 months Later...

If it does come out don't expect Dawnguard to work fluently...It's going to be a hell of a mess.

Concerning the Dawnguard release.. I'm simply indifferent now. I lost the excitement I had for it. The thing that is tugging at me is how this will most likely happen all over again with the next DLC, as I mentioned before.

I'll get Dawnguard when it comes out.. or maybe not. Thinking of all the PS3 games out there I still haven't played that are reduced in price almost makes me want to go ahead and buy an already polished complete game. Heck, I finally bought NV complete edition for like $20 and should probably spend time working on that

I was simply saying I created a new character to hit level 10 and go the DG route. In waiting I continued to play and found him at 25

I don't have any level 81 characters but I also didn't do the book trick to work the system. I wonder how long it would actually take to get to 81. My highest is a level 62(ish).

I didn't do the book trick and it took 180 plus hours to get him to where he is. Now that is with the last 15 levels or so, only focusing on leveling up, and not on game play, quests, or discovering new locations.
