PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #6

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 4:06 pm

Waiting for Dawnguard is like waiting for a new PS3 controller. You're really excited to get, then it's not so exciting once you use it.
Except you can be pretty sure the PS3 controller will work.

I really don't care about DG. But if they aren't going to release it couldn't we at least get the barber?

This is really good news for me, likely PS3 users will have a lot less issues with Dawnguard compared to the Xbox users, knowing Bethesda released it for them when it wasn't ready.
Do you really think the company that release Skyrim:PS3 on 11.11.11, with the knowledge it was broke, and then waited until four months later to actually kind of fix the glaring issues really cares about making it play better for PS3 customers?

Its pretty difficult to take anything Bethesda says at face value.

Im still kind of confused as to why Beth didnt use the people they used to port oblivion to PS3 for Skyrim as well, from what people have said it sounds like they did a good job, and possibly could have avoided this mess.

lolz I love how they tell us not to rage/flame about a matter of being treated. imagine if the situation was reversed on them (Bethesda: :DDD hey Microsoft here is that DLC you wanted 30days before everyone else!)..... (Microwsoft: hey thanks we will give you the money soon)....... week later...... (Bethesda: so you got that money???).. (Microwsoft: oh uhm not yet still working on it) ......... 2 weeks later........ (Bethesda: so how about now? .-.) (Microwsoft: ............... caugh...............) yeah I'd imagine they would be very upset

note I'm not raging about Micosoft or the 30day exclusive with dawnguard just using this as a for instance xD

Made three characters in anticipation of Dawnguard. Those characters are now levels: 70, 48, and 46. Thought Dawnguard would have been out before I would be able to make that much progress with those characters, haha.

Nowhere in there last statement does it say that it will ever be ready for the PS3, and reads more like...well we tried, we wanted it to work, but sorry. And when you add that the the relese a week before we're they said they never said it was going to be available for anything but the Xbox ...it sure looks like a cold bucket of water.
If I had knower this before hand would have gottent it for the pc.
Between the first of September and the end of December I have to many preorders out there to worry about it any more...and then it will be a year old, who knows maybe I'll play it someday, but probably not.

It's been three weeks now and still no news except "we are not happy about the PS3 version, so we will work on it". In the meanwhile you are like "What good is that to me?".

I know you guys want to hear more information, but we don't have any further updates to share right now. If I receive any information to pass along, I'll let you guys know.

Well Gstaff when Dawnguard is released for the Ps3, you know by then if you add it up, 50% or 25% of the people who would of bought Dawnguard didn't when it was released for pc. & by the end of August 50% heck maybe even 75% of people on Ps3 that would of bought Dawnguard won't for a long time or never will. because of this lack of info. you know that right?

Exactly. I wonder myself how Bethe$da do not forsee a drop in downloads due to this lack of communication. Even 7yr kids know that if you ignore your friends they will, in turn, ignore you.
So Bethe$da is just a bunch of 5yrs old script kiddos? lawlz

I would be pretty happy just to hear a definite statement that dawn guard is coming out on ps3. It seems like they're holding back giving us an answer so that if they can't get it working right they can just tell us they never said it would be released for the platform. I'm finding the "when/if" comments to be a bit more frequent and with Pete hines recent tweet saying they would have released it by now if it was working properly, I'm concerned that means they're having too much trouble and we wont get any DLC. Strange they can make skyrim run well enough(even if it has taken 9 months after releasing it) but cant figure out this

Thank you so much for taking interest.

It's all I've been asking for weeks lol. So thank you so much for telling us that someone is at least reading.

We got a statement from an administrator, that's something. Not exactly what we wanted but it is SOMETHING lol

Concerning the Dawnguard release.. I'm simply indifferent now. I lost the excitement I had for it. The thing that is tugging at me is how this will most likely happen all over again with the next DLC, as I mentioned before.

I'll get Dawnguard when it comes out.. or maybe not. Thinking of all the PS3 games out there I still haven't played that are reduced in price almost makes me want to go ahead and buy an already polished complete game. Heck, I finally bought NV complete edition for like $20 and should probably spend time working on that

Skyrim is 8 months old and is still 60 bucks on steam, and alot of PS3 games don't go down in price too often unless they do very very bad. So I wouldn't rely on waiting for the game to drop in price lol.

It really isn't the delay. It's the frustration of lack of information. It's like being in a pitch black cave with all the food and water in the world. You can survive, you know you'll make it out, it's just when.

Sorry for triple posts lol. Just responding when I saw something.

Hey the PS3 should be around 1/3 of people that they sell to. I have not seen companies in the U.S pass up on 1/3 of what they could make.

I personally think Gstaff should get HInes' job. Can actually see him/her as a human being when they respond.

http://twitter.com/donaldbalow I assure you we would have released it by now if we thought it ran well enough to release.

^---Yeah, he's tired of being asked about this issue, but that is no kind of answer. He needs to svck it up and start trying to seriously mend some fences with this part of his customer base. He's getting the nice bucks to be the face of his company, time to step it up and really respond. Something beyond tweets as he tromps about in Scandinavia. I think beyond the delay itself, this fella is 90% of the reason this situation has escalated to where it is atm.

I love how everyone keeps saying tuesday for psn release days. Yes it does update then but you do realize that they are willing to update for large releases. Its happened before. Don't narrow your focus to just tuesdays. It really can happen on any day if Sony is willing. Stay positive everyone

If you would read my posts, you would get this by now.. Yes hey have released games in the past on a day OTHER then Tue/Wed. BUT They only did so when the item was released in THE DROP! Look it up if you dont believe me. I read the drop every sat/sun about what will be released said week. And sometimes they say, "(Game) will be released on Thursday due to maintanece" Or what not. They have never just UP and released anything without letting us know. Goto your PS home and click Get updates. Then you can have The drop sent to you every week.
