PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #7

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 12:50 pm

There is already a PS3 Dawnguard discussion, mods gonna lock this if you dont post it on there.

There shouldnt be a discount. They owe you nothing. IM annoyed too, but your not under legal obligation to purchase this. Ive spent my time playing as a new character, a vampiric dark elf. Pre dawnguard it was difficult to play, the added difficulty is quite fun actually. How i play is.. well.. Kill every guard i find. Seriously, i go to towns and try to silently assasinate every guard and escape unnoticed. Its fun actually, with 100 sneak and full sneak perk + vampirism its neat.

my only probelms with skyrim before patch 1.7 was the constant freezing and crashing and a couple of backward flying dragons when patch 1. 2 came out

serious backwards flying dragons? never had that in my game, only issue i ever had was after the water patch(forget which one it was) i began freezing everytime i went underwater. the next patch fixed that though so its fine now.

A discount on something youve invested nothing on. Seems fair...

Not really.
He invested in Skyrim and Beth still treat's the PS3 like crap after all the broken games.

I think the amount of silence on the subject of Dawnguard is ridiculous...but i am still hopeful for a release before the end of august. :)

i just want an estimate of when it comes out or at least a real update other than we don't have and update. People tend to jump to conclusions when there is a lack of information

I agree about the discount but really, you would rather have it early and buggy instead of Later and Amazing??!!!!!

I am sure many would be fine with that, but this is Bethesda we are talking about. Fallout 3 DLC did come much later on ps3, but it certainly had a ton of bugs still.

Dawnguard must be in absolutely horrible shape if Bethesda is worried about its quality. It must be completely unplayable.

It won't be amazing. It won't be as buggy as it currently is, but it'll probably still be bugged like hell lol

I too had very few probelms with the vanilla game. I think this was due to me having the game a full month and a half after release. I started playing after Christmas. Most people probably got it 11/11/11 and began playing immediately. My save file was probably not big enough to really do much before they released the patch that improved the performance.

I've said this before in these threads, and since all our comments get pushed to page two or three pretty quickly I'll just say it again. I am frustrated that I as a PS3 gamer have to wait the longest for the product. I am upset that there is no end point in sight.

The thing that I am irate about, and is quite frankly inexcusable, is Bethesda's continued inability to program well for the PS3, their silence during this whole debacle, and their continued touting of "we have no new information" as their official statement. Unless their programmers have literally done nothing to improve DG's performance on the PS3, this statement is a lie.

That is my main contention. That is why I believe PS3 owners should receive a discount, free theme, free avatar, Anything really, just say your sorry and give us something to let us know that you appreciate our business and want to keep it.

Beth if you read this... This is NOT how you do business in the US. You are a US company, and you cannot treat your customers this way, and I for one WILL NOT being paying full price for DG. Even if I have to wait years to get a discounted price on it... I'll wait.

People do exaggerate about how bad PS3 is. Sure, some people will come across game breaking glitches from time-to-time but personally I've had about 1 glitch which had a pretty easy workaround. I can't imagine what is delaying Beth so long, I would much rather have the game now with some bugs rather than next month with a few less. Honestly, Xbox and PC have had bugs with DG, that's natural, but they keep playing and enjoying it.

Well, thats your opinion, theres no evidence supporting this that i know of. they put down Dawnguard is coming all platforms, they even tweeted saying it isn't canceled just delayed.
if they do or did cancel it that would make them look bad because that would mean they lied to the customers. so yeah not a wise move. will it take them a while to release it? yes.
longer then it should? thats all personal opinion, but i think yes.
will it be canceled? no. why? theres nothing that supports that idea.

It's a good thing that your opinion is not fact! It will NOT be cancelled....as soon as it runs well enough to release...they will do so.

I think Beth is in to deep and has way to much criticism now to do that. We didn't get all the Oblivion DLC's but they didn't have as much heat on them as they do now.

They've released DLC for other games on the PS3 9+ months later before. It'll come out probably, just probably not nearly as soon as we'd like it to.

And they may just cancel it eventually depending on how much work it takes. The irony I think it'd be cheaper to pay a company to recode the DLC for them and get it done quicker than paying their current employees for a job that would last many months. Maybe it is cheaper with the employees, but the amount of time I would think it'd be more, assuming it's another 9 month wait for DLC situation.

Well I know a lot of people just say this thinking it will change things (but won't) but if this dlc is not out before dishournered and other beth platforms then they can just forget it. I'm a patient person but when something like dlc takes so long it starts to put people off. I love beth games but now starting to lose my patience with them I know its only a dlc ect but one I've been looking forward to a lot. Dispite how the new beth games that are coming do look good I'm not going to waste my money on their future games anymore knowing the track record for ps3 users. So as sad it sounds to people I don't care No dlc no future investment on any beth games. Some of you might say well just 1 person is not gonna affect the sales ect but I can see this getting bigger with people. But that aside I'm still hoping they will wake up get in gear, maybe show some ps3 bit more TLC.

Please please beth do not become like EA or Activision. They only make a lot of sales due to the franchise of cod an sport games but as a company and listening to the fans they svck an rip people off and don't give a ****.

You love to make games and make money just don't forget your fans on all platforms including ps3 do this. Don't let's us down guys thanks

I personally think the worst thing about the time their taking is their excuse for doing so. Saying "we're waiting till it works properly" from any other gaming studio would make sense, but this is BETHESDA we're talking about and on their BEST day they still have game crashing bugs. As soon as (*cough* IF *cough*) dawnguard comes out, their immediately gonna be chastised for every minor bug and glitch just because of the amount of time we're forced to wait only to get the same glitchy mess they always send the PS3. Bethesda's basically put themselves in a lose-lose situation: either their gonna have to stall the games release more to work out ALL of the major kinks (including various vanilla game issues like aela not giving totem of hircine quests *kinda makes WW not worth playing*), or their gonna have to release a buggy/near unplayable DLC and try to salvage the backlash. either way their losing a ton of customers unless they make a clear and open apology or offer some special deal/content to make up for their poor PR skills.

And one more thing that's been bugging me is, what would Bethesda have done if Microsoft hadn't gotten that 30 day exclusivity? Why didn't they say the PS3 version wasn't ready BACK THEN instead of waiting till the other systems already had it? And why is it taking them so long to fix even WITH the 30 extra days they had? it almost seems like they started working on our version last minute....

I think it is funny how folks think it will be cancelled for PS3.

They are working on it and will release it when they are confident it will be up to par.

It stinks waiting, I know.. but from a business stand-point, why work so hard on it, then scrap it altogether. They told us flatly it is in the works. We simply need to be patient and just occupy our time otherwise until release.

Folks are ticked about the lack of info.. check.

I am disappointed about that as well.. but.. they plainly told us it is being worked on. I don't care about much concerning this PR business. As a customer I just want to make sure info is accurate.

So far it isn't running well. I'd rather get something that isn't going to completely screw my game. I'm happy to wait as long as it's relatively bug-free.

Dishonored comes out Oct. 9th, I believe. They probably won't want to take away that game's thunder, so if DG doesn't come in September, it probably won't come for a very long time. I'm guessing the latter, just my opinion.
