PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #7

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 1:27 pm

Everyone needs to be civil about this subject. While it's perfectly fine to have a negative opinion about the lack of a solid release date, there is a way to express yourself in a civil and mature way. We do not want to see immature hostile posts :nono:

It has been http://www.bethblog.com/2012/08/02/dawnguard-ps3-update/ that the PS3 version will be delayed a bit as they are still working to ensure acceptable performance on the platform.

We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3. We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren’t going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people’s experience in Skyrim will be worse. We do everything we can to have our content available to all; from our free updates, to user mods, to paid DLC. We’re as disappointed as our fans when that isn’t the case, but we’ll continue to push for that reality.

Well, I′m not an affected user since I′m enjoying it on PC but I wonder how much trouble Bethesda is running for not giving any information.

Is that hard to say: The programmers who are best at the PS3 stuff are currently on holydays, don′t get your hopes up :DDDD

It has happened, I do work for this industry from time to time lol

no its not been released yet, the patch has actually made skyrim worse for people who have it already and its recommended that you dont install it , so we'll wait and see Bethesda will have to fix the patch.

I must be among the lucky PS3 users. I've had minimal bugs since the beginning, through all patches... and the last patch even "reset" a companion member that had become hostile toward me for no reason (that I know of, on my main character).

Just bring on DG so I can play both questlines!

Yours truly,

Patiently waiting and playing Deus Ex in the mean-time.

I agree with this, I must be one of the lucky ones, or everyone is just over-exaggerating how bad their PS3 copy of Skyirm is. I only have had a few problems with my game, when I first bought it Riften was about as laggy as you could get if you played the game too long, the water bug from patch1.5, and the game will freeze during loading screens. I am not sure if the game actually froze or not, but it sits there for a long time so I assume it froze, other than those I have had no problems with Skyrim.

I think my issue fixed itself. Not sure but i think a messenger has been trying to deliver me a message since i updated. Got the stupid message and all the little things i thought might be in my head only stopped.

I have had very few bugs with skyrim, but the wait for dawnguard is starting to become ridiculous. I mean, I have calculated that we will only be getting dawnguard AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER!!!. The wait is starting to drive me insane, but it helps to have an estimate.

How did you arrive at this estimate?

If you have seen people's video's on Youtube showing the problems they had you wouldn't say anyone is over-exaggerating.

If they release dawnguard for $20 (we all know they will) may i suggest instead of using it on dawnguard you could get uncharted 3 new from wallmart for the same price.

At the original release skyrim constantly crashed for me. After 1.7 it was fine.

A discount on something youve invested nothing on. Seems fair...

Not really.
