PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #8

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 11:26 pm

Everyone needs to be civil about this subject. While it's perfectly fine to have a negative opinion about the lack of a solid release date, there is a way to express yourself in a civil and mature way. We do not want to see immature hostile posts :nono:

It has been http://www.bethblog.com/2012/08/02/dawnguard-ps3-update/ that the PS3 version will be delayed a bit as they are still working to ensure acceptable performance on the platform.

We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3. We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren’t going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people’s experience in Skyrim will be worse. We do everything we can to have our content available to all; from our free updates, to user mods, to paid DLC. We’re as disappointed as our fans when that isn’t the case, but we’ll continue to push for that reality.

I still hold by my prediction that PS3 users will get Dawnguard sometime within September. Either first week or possibly on he 25th but likely not till September. Generally if we would be having a release they would give advance notice (more often than not they have) so Dawnguard is not coming yet today/this week. They do not update on weekends which means if we have no notice by thursday/friday then we likely can expect it to not arrive the week after.

As long as the PS3 users get the Dawnguard DLC eventually along with all the other planned DLC to be released then I'll be fine waiting even if many are not. I appreciate that they are at least trying to fix the DLC rather than simply releasing it in a way that breaks the main game or makes the DLC unplayable.

Hopefully the fact that most people will have to go/be in school now will mean that we will stop getting bratty and immature posts in these threads now. The children in this forum at times really makes other PS3 users look bad...hell they're giving other PS3 users a bad name. hopefully bethesda realizes that it is not everyone who uses a PS3 that's an inconsiderate and whiny little [censored].

Freddo, I believe you have posted that quote from Bethesda several times before. That is nothing new. Thanks for the attempt though.

<--- awaiting release. Still. However, also not wanting a release of a bugged-out content that breaks the game. My PS3 version has run fine since day one, and only minor things have caused minor irritation.

They make it sound like they aren't making any progress with it at all. It has almost been 2 months since dawnguard came to x-box and 19 days since pc. Ps3 users deserve to have it by now.

I too am ok with waiting for a better, more complete DLC. However, the way bethesda has interacted with the community, its easy to feel like they really are not too concerned with the PS3 players thoughts/opinions. To be honest and not to sarcastic.... Id like to be a fly on the wall at their place of business, and hear the shady remarks they are making about people complaining. Because im sure it happens.

Dawnguard for the PS3 should have been done when the 360 version was ready for release plain and simple. They knew the PS3 version would be harder to program for, so no excuses.

Same here. i'm, still doing characters and playing around with Skyrim, so I don't need a "rushed" version.

Bethesda, have never cared about PS3. If they did they'd atleast give more feedback. Why is it Bethesda's games are amazing yet very bugged out? I'm kinda sick of waiting Bethesda's games are way to buggy for ps3. I would switch to my PC but, i'm not spending £40 on a game I already own and an extra £10 for DLC F*** that!

Previous thread

Civility is only reserved for those that show respect. It's because of things like this...

When possible, we'll do what we can to better communicate these things in the future. The 30 day exclusivity announcement was never meant to imply a release date for other platforms -- it was only the exclusivity window.
I know you guys want to have more information to go by, but the post we put up during QuakeCon still pertains now.

and this...
That update is exactly where we're at. We need to be satisfied with the performance before releasing it. Right now we're not satisfied.

Not being specific or clear with anybody as to what the problem is with the performace, or even giving a glimpse of what might be wrong...

It's crap like this why you guys get so much hostility and really don't deserve to have civility anymore, because you've shown a complete lack of respect for an entire gamer base which USED to love your games.

I really don't want a rushed version either. However what I would like is the next DLC to come out in a timely fashion with everybody elses. I would just drop the Dawnguard on PS3 and just focus on the next one so that one DOES WORK TO SATISFACTION and does come out on time.

If anything, the Dawnguard PS3 version at this point will be released after the next DLC for Xbox and PC are released.

And you can call some people inconsiderate and whiney, but when Bethesda is inconsiderate and just ignores you like a high school girlfriend, this is the typical response from people who don't appreciate it. Seriously, do you think people like being spoon-fed [censored] all the time? After a while, you start to notice the taste.

Returning from my suspension just today, but it looks we STILL don't have any meaningful news about wether or not Dawnguard will be released for PS3

Mods, please don't suspend me for saying this, or by implying I will be suspended. If Dawnguard isn't released until September, my enraged "me" will offer plenty of reasons to be suspended for all eternity from this forums. Oh, and don't suspend me for saying this, plox.

I'm playing it on PC and could only beat it with console commands, a few bugs here and there that would make it impossible to progress. Not several months worth of bugs, I mean it was like 2-3 that messed up the level progression.

They are really testing our patients.... I think I'd rather have news about Hearth Fire then get a PS3 Dawnguard release now >.>.... (I'm a PS3 Skyrim Owner FYI)
After seeing everything Dawnguard has to offer, I'm already bored with it. Sure I would have liked to have played it myself, but now I'm over it. Heres hopes towards the next DLC! CHEERS!

No, since 1.6 was rolled into 1.7 it's the opposite. You need 1.7 (1.6) to play Dawnguard.
On another note, it looks like the earliest Dawnguard will be released is the 28th of August.
