-Boss, there's some reports on sites about PS3 customers who are not satisfi...
-How bad the situation is?
-They are very angered and demands information about Dawnguard's release date for the PS3.
-Fine, whatever. Write something to calm them down, but do not say sorry or disclose anything meaningful by all means, please.
-Pete Hines already did this, but I guess the public isn't satisfied yet.
-Hmm maybe if we said something about the actual situation...
*phone rings*
-Oh, just a moment. I'll just answer the phone here... Yes? Oh, hello. Yes it is him. Oh, about Dawnguard not being released to Sony's console? Don't worry, we got that covered. Hmm. Yes, you can tell your supervisor at Microsoft that this won't be happening. Yes. Uh-huh. Don't forget to remind him to deposit the money he promised this week. Right. It's been a plesure.
*hangs phone*
-Sir, about the tweets...
-Oh, just forget that. No need to say anything, just ignore everyone, ok? If things get really bad, just blame Sony certification process for the patches, that it is taking too long bla bla bla. About Dawnguard, well... I'm sure mr. Hines will come up with some something to keep em busy for another month or two.

Got a chuckle from that, thanks

Though i don't see bad business planning on Beth.'s part as a something to pin on Microsoft. I mean hell, i prolly woulda took the money were i in their place. But then i would have made damn sure that my product was ready for everyone else the instant exclusivity was over.

Upto now I've been a PS3 gamer but by this time tomorrow I'd have finally finished building my gaming PC so thankfully I'll never have to play a Bethesda game on PS3 again (or whatever bugged mess they release for PS4). I would say I'm lucky to have this option of converting to PC and thus being able to play Skyrim and DG with all the advantages (mods & improved graphics mostly) but it took me a year and a half to save enough for a decent gaming PC.
This is just the next mess in line of PS3 mess. PS3 didn't get all the DLC for Oblivion (horse armor, Mehrunes Razor, the player home plugins etc), Fallout 3 had a similar lag issue that Skyrim had (and apparently still has for some people) and that lag was never fixed. When Skyrim was first release a lot of people had terrible lag after varying amounts of gameplay time. Bethesda downplayed this problem and denied it and communication towards us PS3 owners was pathetically bad. Then we hear that good ol' M$ has paid for a month exclusivity. OK we can live with that it's only a month wait. But now we wait and wait, sure that 30 days didn't mean we would get it on the 31st day but to have to wait a month then anotehr after that then be told it could be anytime and then to get the usual crappy Bethesda communication, it's not surprising that some PS3 owners think of themselves as second class.
Apparently the issue is bugs with the PS3 version, the PS3 is hard to develop for. The PS3 has been out for 6 years. BGS still struggle to develop for the PS3 6 years after it was released? They finally got the PS3 version of SK itself mostly running ok, what the heck did they do with DG that screws that up? I suppose it's good that they want to release DG on PS3 as bug free as possible after the buggy mess we got when Skyrim was first released (yes I know some folk were lucky but a whole lot of people got a flip book version of SK).
Very best of luck to you PS3 owners, I really hope Bethesda starts treating you guys right becuase right now they're treating you guys like crap not like paying customers.

I've been a long time Elder Scrolls fan ever since the first time I played Morrowind. I was lucky enough to have a computer good enough to play Morrowind and Oblivion on a pc but then college and graduation happened and by the time Skyrim came out I couldn't afford a pc nice enough to run the game. I was wary about getting Skyrim on my ps3 because I remembered how frustrated I was when the Fallout 3 expansions never really came out when the game was still relevant but realized I didn't have a choice if I wanted to play the game. Up until the past couple weeks I've been pretty happy with my decision, it seemed like we were getting patches and updates at about the same speed as everyone else and I didn't feel like I was viewed as any less of a customer as players using the other platforms.
Ever since Dawnguard hit the PC I've been checking back here every day waiting for more information. I've followed all the ps3 threads and I have to say: I don't mind an exclusivity agreement with microsoft as a ps3 user playing a Bethesda game I knew what I was getting into from past experience. I don't feel like I need a discount. I don't feel like I need any added bonus content for anything. I just want information. I want to know if the content is going to be released ever so I'm not just holding my breath indefinitely. Even if it isn't for another few months (or a goty edition [hopefully not]) I would just like to know if it is actually on its way.

That was the intention. No "bashing Beth" kind of post. Just something to break the tension and seriousness regarding the matter. Glad you guys got the point ^^

Unfortunately you've missed my whole point... The response for silence is silence itself or ignoring - the people in the real world - the majority that don't write on forums etc. - if disappointed can decide to not support anymore this company and don't buy anymore their product, these are concrete facts, and there is no needs to open thread after thread on a forum for this Instead here on the net we have some people too impatient to play a "stupid dlc" that pretends to know detailed informations about "what god only knows" (technical issues ) and even a release date when we already have a message from hines itself in which he clearly explain the reasons of the delay and various gstaff posts repeating the same thing - and bear in mind,we are talkin' of the same people that will buy dawnguard for ps3 at day one probably  I call this a paradox
bro ppl are scared tht is why we have forums the oblivion dlcs got released to PS3 in goty edition, and Bethesda was quiet back then too ppl are seeing a pattern, I believe tht Bethesda wants us to switch to xbox but tht is besides the point) the fear of waiting a year is pushing ppl to the question why??? as in why is it so hard to treat all platforms equally but after another month or two ppl will problably stop posting and give up or switch to xbox or PC

^Your post was hilarious. It's mostly funny because it is completely accurate, and I could see it happening in reality. I don't think Dawnguard is going to be released, I was optimistic about it, but if it has taken them this long to even give any real information... It just don't seem to be happening. If it does, great. But I wouldn't get my hopes up.

It's actually hard to trust bethesda anymore, we in europe are also still waiting for the 1.7 on ps3, august is almost over, we are about to hit september so we're waiting 2 months already and i don't have the hope it will be coming next week... They are starting to becomde in a big competition some nice games are launching september, and i think people rather save their $20,- or €20,- for darksiders 2 then for some stupid DLC that was delayed over a month soo.... (my opinion tho)

@Baasje92 well, as they said they sent the patch to Sony already, that would be Sony's fault that Europe doesn't have the patch. Bethesda has no control over when Sony will release it, and some people say they don't think it was even sent. I believe that they wouldn't have sent it out for North America and wherever else and exclude Europe and Australia, etc.

I have to agree with this, I am not pissed at Bethesda, but there are games coming out that I would rather get, and then I would wait to get Dawnguard at a lower price.

I hope Bethesda is not stringing us along if Bethesda sold out to microsft they should just say so. so we don't wait another year like morons, and ppl can make up their minds either quit Bethesda or get a xbox, because its beginning to look like their stalling PS3 users everytime they make a dlc, if this is true Bethesda just tell us tht microsft paid u guys to not release DG to PS3 this year. I am an advlt I could understand the need for money, but don't string me along for a year, I might even buy an xbox, just keep it real

I think PS3 players are being strung along, no doubt in my mind on that. I don't think MS paid Bethesda to lock PS3 players out of getting DLC however. Although, if they did, no way in hell Beth. would ever be dumb enough to admit it, as both they and MS could get in some deep trouble.

Oh there were tweets yesterday, of the same vein as what we been getting though. Here's the two

@DCDeacon It seems a lot of people think you're head of Bethesda, easy mistake to make; though I can't imagine how difficult your job is atm.

@MikeWasowzki People get angry, they wanna point it at someone. That'd be me.

@Bethblog @DCDeacon Give us an update 4 #Dawnguard #PS3. Do u realize ur losing loyal fans b/c of your lack of response?

@ShankThTank @ElderScrollsOTR Sorry, I don't have one. There simply isn't anything new to share beyond what we originally said.

https://twitter.com/DCDeacon

So more of the same really. I didn't post all of the ones relevant to the PS3 dlc issue, but i sure did get a few laughs at ppl just laying into Hines.

Its been proven people [censored] if Bethesda remains silent on release dates., these same people continue to [censored] should Bethesda give out details on the release date. If Bethesda misses that date which they are prone to do anyone who was around when fallout DLC was coming knows this. Even more people [censored].

If they knew how long it take to fix up dawnguard for the ps3 it mean they were already finished and it was on its way to be submitted.

Ahh.. Beth, Beth, Beth.. Where do I begin?

It started on a winter night long ago. I met her, Morrowind, at a friend's house and had never seen your face before. Instantly captivated I asked you out. We had so many great times together until I met Oblivion. She continued to enthrall me with her improved looks. I sadly waved goodbye to Morrowind as I dearly loved her charm and wit (but also secretly stole into her room from time to time in nostalgic delight). I discovered other women too.. an older lass named Daggerfall. I dated her for a spell and admired her...girth.. but, I digress..

Then came Skyrim. She was refined. She played with me night after night (on my PS3.. nearly bug-free since launch!!!!) and whispered of a secret meeting with Xbox.

I shrugged. "She'll return and be appreciative of my warmth". Months went by. No calls. No love. I've been patient, hoping she'll return to me with our child that was born (told to me online, I might add!). She refuses to let me see our child, Dawnguard. I offer child support, but still she is resistant. She keeps telling me he's deformed and hideous..

I told her I can be patient until she comes to terms with her emotions about our son. But damn, Beth... let me see our son!!!!!!!

I hope it doesnt release. I really do. School has started, new games like Black iops 2, Madden 13, NBA 2K13, and borderlands 2 is coming out. Its just a waste of time honestly for bethesda to release it. Its been, what 2 MONTHS since they released the dlc for xbox. All i have to say is SCREW BETHESDA!

Point taken, people will moan regardless. I can agree with that.

However, Bethesda should not use that as an excuse to give virtually no info on what's going on. And its been repeatedly said, ppl are not even asking for detailed, point-by-point info here; they'd be content with a weekly, "Hey guys, thanks for bearing with us. Going slow but making some progress." kinda deal.
